The paper discusses the current recommendations regarding the supply of individual nutrients in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD). The recommendations include keeping the energy supply in the range of 25 to 35 kcal per kilogram of proper body weight per day, limiting the consumption of phosphorus to maximum of 1 g per day and limiting sodium to maximum of 2.3 g per day. In patients with eGFR less then 30 ml / min / 1.73 m2, a potassium restriction should be added so that its concentration in the blood does not exceed 5 mmol / l. Experts' views on the protein restriction in CKD patients are divided. The topic is controversial and more researches are needed to see if reducing protein intake leads to malnutrition and increased risk of death in this population. The results of studies on the use of a vegetarian diet in patients with CKD seem to be promising. It is good to remember about consuming appropriate amounts of products containing trace elements such as zinc, selenium or copper, as well as polyphenols, flavonoids and antioxidants.Cardiovascular diseases are the most common cause of death in Poland and in the world. People with cardiovascular disease or high cardiovascular risk require early detection and pharmacotherapy. New methods of prevention and treatment are needed. Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) is an essential component of the human body. CoQ10 plays an important role in the biosynthesis of adenosine-5'-triphosphate (ATP) and has antioxidant activity. More and more evidence indicates that CoQ10 is closely related to cardiovascular disorders. Its supplementation may be beneficial in various chronic and acute disorders. Coenzyme Q10 used in heart failure reduces mortality and improves exercise capacity. CoQ10 can reduce the values of systolic blood pressure (SBP) and diastolic blood pressure (DBP) in hypertensive patients. CoQ10 supplementation prevents electrocardiographic (ECG) changes in patients taking doxorubicin and has a positive effect on heart function during anthracycline chemotherapy. The review article was based on available literature found in the Medline database and includes preclinical and clinical research. Zileuton Further research related to CoQ10 can contribute to significant progress in the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases but may also be the basis for increasing the range of indications for this drug. The greatest challenge of modern implantology is the loss of bone tissue in esthetic region of maxilla and mandible. Significant bone changes caused for example by cysts, unerupted teeth or traumatic extraction often provoke bilateral or trilateral bone defects. Thanks to the possibility of applying demineralized dentin and dentin blocks gained from extracted teeth of the patient, it is possible to successfully regenerate bone tissue especially in the esthetic zone.
The aim of the study was to present a case of a patient who underwent bone augmentation for implantation. In addition, a review of the literature illustrating the effectiveness of autogenous bone graft material derived from ground teeth in augmentation procedures was performed.

The paper presents a case of a 26-year-old man in whom bone defect was augmented with material derived from dentin blocks and partially demineralized dentin processed in the BonMaker device after extraction of the root of tooth 11. A systematic review of literature was conducted analyzing articles published between 1975 and 2020. From 80 articles, 25 were selected for this study.

The presented case and the systematic review of literature indicate that tooth-derived bone graft material prepared from extraction can effectively restore alveolar bone defect. The results we get so far are very satisfying. Further studies should be performed to confirm the osteogenic effects and safety use of this tooth based graft material.

The authors present the case of a 57-year-old patient who received surgery for critical degenerative lumbal spinal stenosis on the L4-L5 level. The diagnosis was based on strong right sciatica and neurogenic claudication. A bilateral laminotomy from the right and a microdiscectomy were performed. During surgery, no bleeding from the intervertebral space was observed and blood pressure was low but stable from the beginning. After surgery, the patient was in good general and neurological condition, without preoperative right-sided sciatica. Within a few hours after the operation, the circulatory and respiratory systems were stable with normal saturation and the patient did not report shortness of breath. Paleness of the skin and mucous membranes was observed. Follow-up morphology tests performed at 6 and 10.5 hours after surgery showed a decrease in the level of erythrocytes. The patient had palpablea vessel. In patients who are stable hemodynamically, performing an angio-CT function of the abdominal cavity is suggested and the damaged artery should be treated with a covered stent.Cerebral venous infarction also known as cerebral venous thrombosis (CVT) is a rare disease. It is more common in young adults, but three times more common in women than in men. The clinical picture of CVT may vary and non-specific manifestations often delay correct diagnosis. Headaches of various location, nature and severity occur in 90% of cases. Radiology findings in the central nervous system include bilateral cerebral involvement and foci location that does not correspond to arterial supply. More than 100 factors that may predispose to CVT have been identified. The aetiology of CVT remains unknown in about 20% of patients.
In this paper we present a case of 35-year-old woman at 27 weeks of gestation, who was admitted to the hospital after the first epileptic seizure in her life. The patient's history revealed the headaches that had lasted for about 3 months prior. The patient had no family history of hypercoagulability. The patient was diagnosed with CVT - a hemorrhagic lesion in the left hemisphere of the brain as a result of dural sinus thrombosis.
