(Both P less then 0.01) The LC number was significantly correlated with maximum length (CC = -0.19, P = 0.01) of the sub-basal nerve fibre. Furthermore, the corneal nerve average density was negatively correlated with IHD, and anterior, posterior, and total corneal aberrations (All P less then 0.05) especially the higher-order aberrations. Significant correlations were seen between corneal nerve morphology changes, analysed by AI and corneal intrinsic aberrations, particularly higher-order aberrations.The influence of Alzheimer's disease (AD) progression and severity on the structural and functional integrity of the cerebral vasculature is well recognized. The bidirectional association between osteoarthritis (OA) and urate levels and gout, though well-documented, is inconclusive. This Mendelian randomization (MR) study aims to examine the bidirectional causality between OA and urate levels as well as gout.

We used summary statistics data for serum urate levels from 288,649 CKDGen participants and gout from 69,374 Global Urate Genetics Consortium participants. The summary statistics data for OA were obtained from genome-wide association studies including up to 826,690 participants of mainly European ancestry. MR was performed using established analytical methods including the Wald ratio, inverse variance weighted (IVW), weighted median (WM) and MR-Egger.

Genetically determined urate levels [IVW odds ratio (OR)=0.99, 95% confidence interval (CI)=0.96, 1.02, P=0.484] and gout (Wald ratio OR=1.00, 95% CI=0.98, 1.02, P=0.908) were not associated with the risk of total OA. In site-specific OA analyses, there was no causal effect of urate levels on knee, hip, spine, thumb and hand OA, and no evidence was provided that gout increased the risk of OA at any site. In the reverse MR analyses, we found no causal effect of total OA on urate levels (IVW Beta=-0.011, 95% CI=-0.095, 0.074, P=0.807) or gout (IVW OR=1.05, 95% CI=0.66, 1.68, P=0.839). A null effect of site-specific OA was also observed.

Brain responses to external stimuli vary with fluctuating states of neuronal activity. However, M1 is part of a distributed network, and the effects of oscillatory activity in this network on TMS-evoked EEG responses (TEPs) have not been explored.

To determine the effects of oscillatory activity in the bihemispheric sensorimotor network on TEPs.

31 healthy subjects received single-pulse TMS of the left M1 hand area during EEG recording. Ongoing bihemispheric sensorimotor cortex oscillatory states were reconstructed from the EEG directly preceding TMS, and inferred by a data-driven method combining a multivariate autoregressive model and a Hidden Markov model. TEP amplitudes (P25, N45, P70, N100 and P180) were then compared between different bihemispheric sensorimotor cortex oscillatory states.

This study aimed to evaluate the impact of a clinical pharmacist consultation on the switch to and retention rate of a biosimilar for patients with inflammatory rheumatic diseases.

This retrospective study compared 2 groups of adult patients receiving (intervention) or not (control) a consultation with a pharmacist right before the rheumatologist consultation. The primary outcome was the frequency of patients who switched to a biosimilar at the end of the rheumatologist visit.

We analysed 141 patients (50% women, 50±15 years old, on original adalimumab (62%) or etanercept (38%)) who had never used biosimilars 85 in the intervention group and 56 in the control group. The switch rate to a biosimilar significantly differed between the groups 69.4% versus 41.1% in the intervention group versus the control group respectively (p<0.01). After a 1-year follow-up period, 72.5% versus 81.3% of patients who switched were still on biosimilar in the intervention versus control group respectively.

This study highlights the positive impact of a pharmacist consultation before the physician's one on switching to a biosimilar, but more studies are needed to assess the impact of this pharmacist consultation on preventing the nocebo effect and therefore on improving the retention rate of biosimilars.

Teachers are uniquely poised to support students' healthy eating habits and physical activity. However, research is needed to examine the successes and challenges teachers face when implementing a school wellness initiative. The purpose of this study was to examine teachers' experiences implementing and managing a pilot school wellness initiative where students had longer lunch and recess, and more physical activity throughout the day.

Using a grounded theory approach, transcripts were analyzed qualitatively using principles of content analysis to identify themes and domains. Application of the codes and interrater reliability were conducted with a trained research assistant.

Focus groups were conducted to understand the challenging and successful experiences of teachers as they implemented and managed a school wellness initiative. The participants were teachers (N= 39) from six purposively selected elementary schools participating in a school wellness initiative. To address unhealthy restaurant food intake among children, localities and states are passing healthy restaurant kids' meal laws. However, there is limited knowledge of what these policies require and how they compare with expert and industry nutrition standards.

The aim of this study was to develop a research instrument to evaluate healthy kids' meal laws and assess their alignment with expert and industry nutrition standards.

The study team conducted a content analysis of healthy kids' meal laws passed between January 2010 and August 2020 in the United States. Using a structured codebook, two researchers abstracted policy elements and implementation language from laws, regulations, fiscal notes, and policy notes. Nutritional criteria for kids' beverages and meals were compared with existing expert and industry nutrition standards for meals and beverages.

Measures included law characteristics, implementation characteristics, enforcement characteristics, definitions of key terms, and nutritional requihe policies' influences on children's consumption. Future policies could use expert nutrition standards to inform the standards set for kids' meals and specify supports for implementation.

This study aimed to determine whether dietary quality differs by sexual orientation and sex among US adults.

This was a cross-sectional study of 24-hour dietary recall data from a nationally representative sample of adults aged 20 through 65 years participating in the 2011-2016 National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey.

Study participants were adults (n= 8,851) with complete information on dietary intake, sexual orientation, and sex.

The main outcome measures were daily energy intake from 20 specific food and beverage groups and Healthy Eating Index-2015 (HEI-2015) scores for sextary outcomes compared with heterosexual groups, gay and bisexual men displayed healthier dietary quality for processed meat (by consuming smaller amounts) and overall dietary quality (according to HEI-2015) compared with heterosexual males.
