Zaloğlu bu zülmü görseydi,
ecel bu çığlığı duysaydı,
cellâdın yüreği olsaydı;
Zaloğlu savaşa, yiğitliğe ağlardı,
ecel bakardı kendine ağlardı,
cellât, yüreği taş olsa, ağlardı.
Kumru, başına geleceği duysaydı,
tabut, içine gireni bilseydi,
hayvanlarda bir parça akıl olsaydı;
kumru selviden ayrılır ağlardı,
tabut omuzda giderken ağlardı
öküzler, beygirler, kediler ağlardı.
Ölüm acılarını gördü tatlı can,
koyuldu işte böyle ağlamaya.
Olanlar oldu, gitti dostum benim.
şu dünya bir altüst olsa, aülasa yeri var.
