To explore the effect of PITX2 gene rs6843082 single nucleotide polymorphism on the efficacy and adverse reactions of warfarin in patients with atrial fibrillation and hypertension, and to provide a theoretical basis for individualized warfarin treatment.
Data on 97 patients with atrial fibrillation and hypertension treated in our hospital were collected from September, 2018 to December, 2019. PCR and SNP genotyping techniques were used to measure the genotype at the rs6843082 locus (pituitary homeobox 2, PITX2) using DNA from the peripheral blood cells of all patients. We compared the efficacy of warfarin and the incidence of adverse reactions in patients of different genotypes.
(1) Among 97 subjects, 58 cases (59.79%), 32 cases (32.99%) and 7 cases (7.22%) of PITX2 (rs6843082) genotypes GG, GA and AA were identified respectively. The G and A allele frequencies were 76.29% and 23.71%, respectively. (2) After all patients took warfarin to achieve the standard, the GA group and AA group's time to achieveent may optimize the treatment response and reduce bleeding incidence.
Our findings show that rs6843082 SNP leads to the warfarin dose response differences that were observed in patients with atrial fibrillation and hypertension. Genotyping patients for rs6843082 before initiating warfarin treatment may optimize the treatment response and reduce bleeding incidence. We report a rare case of a 40 years old woman with primary vaginal clear cell adenocarcinoma (CCA) accompanied by Herlyn-Werner-Wunderlich syndrome (HWWS) and without any prenatal diethylstilbestrol exposure. Pathological results indicated that the CCA was surrounded by adenosis and that there was a benign to malignant transformation of several glands in the epithelium, so the CCA was believed to have arisen from the adenosis. The literature review disclosed that genitourinary anomalies might be associated with an increased risk of adenocarcinoma, but the mechanism was not clear.
Health-care research in Nigeria has been growing over the years but is constrained by many difficulties. This study aimed to identify the challenges encountered in health-care research and suggest policies to address these problems.
It was a cross-sectional study of medical doctors who have been involved in health-related researches. All participants filled a self-administered online questionnaire comprising 31 questions in five sections. The responses were analyzed using the Google forms and the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences software version 23.
The mean age of the study participants was 41.0 ± 8.4 years. Three-quarters of the respondents (75.5%) worked in teaching hospitals. Nearly all (96.6%) carried out their studies using personal funds and only one in 10 had been involved in high-budget projects (≥₦1,000,000). The generation of quality researches was impeded by the restriction of literature review to free online journals (93.2%), incomplete health records (88.0%), limited access to re works to influence practice change in Nigeria.
To study the ganglioside intake of lactating mothers and its effect on the breast milk and infants.
The related information of mothers and infants was obtained by questionnaire survey, including the recipe, family information, and so on. The content of gangliosides in the mothers' food and breast milk was tested by HPLC-MS. The intake of gangliosides for infants was recorded and calculated. Then the dynamic changes of the content of gangliosides in breast milk and the impact on the development of infants were evaluated.
GD3 was rich in milk and dairy products. GSK'963 clinical trial The average intake of gangliosides for lactating mothers was 6.33 mg/day, of which GM3 was 3.02 mg/day and GD3 was 1.51 mg/day. The main food sources of gangliosides were meat (46.6%), eggs (26.6%), and dairy products (18.9%). The average content of gangliosides in breast milk was 9.58 mg/L. The content in 0-7 days after delivery (15.95 mg/L) was the highest, and then gradually decreased with time, getting the lowest in 6 months after delivery (6.Ulinastatin (UTI) is a trypsin inhibitor observed in urine. UTI can treat some diseases by inhibiting the broad-spectrum hydrolysis activity of various enzymes and other pharmacological effects. UTI can widely treat pancreatitis, systemic multiple organ dysfunction syndrome, circulatory failure, and toxic shock clinically. The liver is a major metabolic organ of the human body. Various biological metabolic reactions require the liver's participation. When various physical and chemical factors drive the body, it will damage the liver to varying degrees. As a clinically effective drug, UTI is also known to treat some liver diseases. This article mainly describes UTI's research progress in treating septic liver injury, hepatitis, liver fibrosis, autoimmune liver disease with liver failure, and liver ischemia-reperfusion injury.Autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD) is the most common genetically inherited kidney disease worldwide. It is however relatively underdiagnosed in Africans because its diagnosis is often incidental. During pregnancy, ADPKD is associated with increased risk of preeclampsia and venous thromboembolism. The case of a 33-year-old lady incidentally diagnosed with ADPKD during pregnancy is presented. She developed preeclampsia at term and had cesarean delivery of twins. She however suffered cardiopulmonary arrest postoperatively and this created a treatment dilemma because therapeutic anticoagulation which was the primary treatment for her suspected pulmonary embolism was absolutely contraindicated if the actual cause of her collapse was ruptured cerebral aneurysm which was also a feature of ADPKD. We decided to resuscitate aggressively and perform an urgent cranial computed tomography which ruled out intracranial hemorrhage. We then commenced anticoagulation and she made an excellent recovery. This case illustrates the importance of a timely multidisciplinary approach to patient management.Behavioral measures, such as the wearing of facemasks and maintaining of distance to other people, have been central in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic and will continue to be important in curbing its spread. We therefore investigated their perceived usefulness, adherence and their predictors in representative online samples in eight countries (France, Germany, Poland, Russia, Spain, Sweden, U.K., U.S.). Of the 7,658 participants, 77.4% rated governmental measures (highest Germany, lowest France) as useful and 91.7% reported adherence to them. Adherence was lowest in Russia and Poland, where people felt particularly left alone and not well supported, and in the U.S. and Sweden, where governments showed ambivalent attitudes towards the measures. The highest adherence was reported in countries with very high mortality (U.K., Spain, France) or very positively perceived government communication (Germany). Female gender, higher age, belonging to a risk group, being affected physically and mentally, perception of governmental communication as guided by the interests of people, feeling of being well informed and the level of positive mental health positively predicted both outcomes, while being affected economically negatively predicted both outcomes.
