Drawing on the Andersen model, there is a large body of evidence examining the determinants of health care use, such as doctor visits or hospitalization. However, far less is known about the determinants of dental service use, explicitly using the Andersen model. Consequently, the aim of this systematic review is to summarize and critically analyze evidence from observational studies that examine the determinants of dental service use based on the Andersen model. Methods and analysis The following electronic databases will be searched PubMed, PsycInfo, and CINAHL. Our main inclusion criterion is observational studies (cross-sectional and longitudinal) investigating the determinants of dental service use based on the Andersen model. https://www.selleckchem.com/products/CP-690550.html Disease-specific samples will be excluded. Data extraction will concentrate on methods (such as measurement of dental service use), sample characteristics (such as age and gender) and key results. The study quality will be assessed using an appropriate tool. Three steps (selectinpecific samples will be excluded. Data extraction will concentrate on methods (such as measurement of dental service use), sample characteristics (such as age and gender) and key results. The study quality will be assessed using an appropriate tool. Three steps (selecting the studies, extracting the data and assessment of study conducted) will be performed by two reviewers. The findings will be displayed using figures, summary tables, narrative summaries and meta-analysis (if studies are deemed similar enough and of appropriate quality). In order to reduce the CO2 emission and cost of binders used in cemented paste backfill (CPB) technology, new blended binders with a large amount of fly ash (FA) were fabricated. Different doses of quicklime and calcium sulfoaluminate cement (CṠA) were used as mineral accelerators to improve the early workability of CPB. The effects of CṠA and quicklime on flowability, compressive strength, pore structure, hydration heat, and hydration evolution were investigated experimentally. The results showed that the addition of quicklime and CṠA reduced the spread diameter of the fresh backfill and improved the mechanical performance of the hardened CPB. With increasing quicklime and CṠA, the cumulative hydration heat of the blended binder distinctly increased in the first 6 h. CṠA improved the initial hydration by increasing the reactivity, and quicklime increased the hydration rate by activating FA. The blended binder (15% quicklime + 10% CṠA) with the lowest CO2 emission and cost had potential application in filling technology.Brown adipose tissues have unique non-shivering thermogenesis functions, can be found in newborn ruminate animals, and then are gradually replaced by white adipose tissues in adulthood. For the purpose of exploring the intrinsic mechanism underlying the conversion process from brown (BAT) to white adipose tissue (WAT), it is necessary to utilize Quantitative PCR (qPCR) to study gene expression profiling. In this study, we identified reference genes that were consistently expressed during the transformation from goat BAT to WAT using RNA-seq data. Then, twelve genes were evaluated as candidate reference genes for qPCR in goat perirenal adipose tissue using three tools (geNorm, Normfinder, and BestKeeper). In addition, the selected reference genes were used to normalize the gene expression of PGC-1α and GPAT4. It was found that traditional reference genes, such as GAPDH, RPLP0, HPRT1, and PPIA were not suitable for target gene normalization. In contrast, CTNNB, PFDN5, and EIF3M, selected from RNA sequencing data, showed the least variation and were recommended as the best reference genes during the transformation from BAT to WAT.Bone substitute materials loaded with mediators that stimulate fracture healing are demanded in the clinical treatment in trauma surgery and orthopedics. Brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) enhances the proliferation and differentiation of mesenchymal stem cells into osteoblast. To load the implants with BDNF, a drug delivery system that allows the release of BDNF under spatiotemporal control would improve functionality. Polyelectrolyte complex nanoparticles (PECNP) have been reported as a suitable drug delivery system. The suitability of PECNP in contact with osteocytes as the main cell type of bone is not known so far. Thus, we aimed to verify that BDNF and PECNP loaded with BDNF (PECNP+BDNF) as well as pure PECNP have no negative effects on osteocytes in vitro. Therefore, the murine osteocyte cell line MLO-Y4 was treated with BDNF and PECNP+BDNF. The effects on proliferation were analyzed by the BrdU test (n = 5). The results demonstrated a significant increase in proliferation 24 h after BDNF application, whereas PECNP+BDNF did not lead to significant changes. Thus, we conclude that BDNF is an appropriate mediator to stimulate osteocytes. Since the addition of PECNP did not affect the viability of osteocytes, we conclude that PECNP are a suitable drug delivery system for bone implants. In this work, the bonding strength of overmolded polypropylene is investigated and modeled. A T-joint specimen was designed to replicate the bonding between a base and an overmolded stem made of the same polymer a previously molded plaque was used for the base, and the stem was directly overmolded. The effect of melt temperature, holding pressure, and localized heating was investigated following the design of experiments approach. Both the melt and base temperature positively affect the welding strength. On the contrary, the holding pressure negatively contributed, as the crystallization temperature significantly increases with pressure. Then, the bonding strength of the specimens was predicted using a non-isothermal healing model. Moreover, the quadratic distance of diffusion (based on the self-diffusion model) was calculated and correlated with the bonding strength prediction. The non-isothermal healing model well predicts the bonding strength when the reptation time is calculated within the first 0.09 s of the interface temperature evolution. The prediction error ranges from 1% to 35% for the specimens overmolded at high and low melt and base temperatures, respectively.
