Young-onset colorectal cancer is recognized as a distinct disease that may be sporadic or hereditary in nature. Triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) is an intrinsic subtype of breast cancer with a poor prognosis, characterized by a lack of ER and PR expression and the absence of HER2 amplification. The aim of this study is to characterize hub genes (key genes in the molecular interaction network) expression in TNBC, which may serve as prognostic predictors for TNBC treatment.

Four transcriptome microarray datasets GSE27447, GSE39004, GSE43358 and GSE45827 were obtained from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database, and R package limma and RobustRankAggreg were employed to identify common differentially expressed genes (DEGs). Gene Ontology (GO) and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) enrichment analyses were conducted by DAVID and KOBAS database. Thereafter, protein-protein interaction (PPI) network was constructed according to STRING online database. Functional modules and hub genes were screened by MCODE and cytohubba plug-ins, and the Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) survival analysis and qRT-PCR were utilized to validate the expression of these hub genes on TNBC.

A total of 134 DEGs were identified by differential expression analysis, consisting of 88 up- and 46 down-regulated genes. GO and KEGG analyses showed that the terms and pathways enriched were mainly associated with cell adhesion, tumorigenesis and cellular immunity. Only a few studies have investigated the clinical features and outcomes of patients with pulmonary metastasis from hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) at the initial diagnosis. This study aimed to evaluate the prevalence, risk factors and prognostic factors related to pulmonary metastasis and then construct a nomogram to predict the outcomes of patients with HCC presenting with pulmonary metastasis.

The Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database was used to select patients. A total of 25,236 eligible patients diagnosed with HCC from 2010 to 2015 were selected. Then, 897 patients with HCC presenting with pulmonary metastasis at the initial diagnosis were included in the primary set (n=598) and validation set (n=299). Logistic and Cox regression analyses were used to determine the risk factors and prognostic factors for pulmonary metastasis. A nomogram predicting the prognosis of patients with HCC presenting with pulmonary metastasis was constructed based on independent prognostic factors identi the C-index of the nomogram was 0.657 (95% CI 0.626-0.698).

expression, copy number variation (CNV), and prognostic value across different BC subtypes is limited. Our purpose was to evaluate
mRNA expression, CNV, and prognostic value across BC subtypes.

expression and CNV in BC patient tumors using RT-qPCR and qPCR, respectively. We also analyzed

Following the 2019 coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, many reports have investigated the psychosocial effects of the lockdown. The aim of our study was to investigate the effects of the lockdown on the daily life habits of orthopaedic patients.

Around 30 days after the start of the Italian lockdown, from April 17th to the end of the containment measures on May 18th, the Sapienza University of Rome carried out a 19-item survey on the effects the lockdown caused in patients suffering from an orthopaedic pathology (with regard to changes in lifestyle, pain, treatment) by stratifying the sample by age, sex, profession, pain location, pathogenesis and prior surgeries.

A total of 292 subjects with orthopaedic pathologies took part in the survey. Taking into consideration the totality of the sample, physical activity was significantly reduced (p <0.001). The increase of a sedentary lifestyle was statistically significant (p <0.001), as well as an increase in pain (p <0.001) and the need to adjust the pharmacological treatment (p <0.001). The increase in pain was particularly significant in the 50-70 age group, among workers, and in polyarthralgic patients. About 55.48% stated that the lockdown period worsened their underlying pathological condition and 53.77% expressed the need to undergo a new clinical evaluation at the end of the lockdown.

Breast masses are common among females presenting to primary health care (PHC) facilities. The family physician's role is crucial in detecting breast disease. Utilization of breast ultrasonography has been increasing recently as a diagnostic tool.

This study aims to determine the characteristics of masses detected on breast ultrasound, their associations with characteristics of females attending the PHC setting and explore the management of these cases by family physicians.

This registered based, cross-sectional study included 321 females who were referred for diagnostic breast ultrasound in the PHC center of the University hospital, Eastern province, Saudi Arabia (2017-2019).
