Albums

Toto's discography consists of 13 studio albums as well as 4 live albums. There are also a few compilations. In addition to the release of original music, Toto has also done collaborations with other artists and on soundtracks for films. The group has won a number of Grammy Awards for their work.

Before Toto was formed the members of the group performed session work for other musicians. David Paich, the son of drummer Marty Paich, and Jeff Porcaro (the brother of guitarist Joe Porcaro and drummer Jeff Porcaro) all played on Boz Scaggsalbum in 1975 Silk Degrees. The group's collaboration led to formation of Toto in the year 1976.

Turn Back, Toto's third studio album was criticized by critics due to not having hit singles. In 1985, singer Fergie Frederiksen left the group and the group held auditions for a new frontman. Guitarist Steve Lukather was chosen, and the band recorded the 1986 album Fahrenheit.

Toto released Toto XX in 1998 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the band. The band dug through old recordings and tapes to create the unique record. The album was well-loved by fans and the band embarked upon the tour with former members Bobby Kimball Steve Porcaro and Joseph Williams.

Shem von Schröck took over Leland Sklar as drummer on the tour for the 40 Trips Around the Sun album. In 2017, Toto released the double-CD set Falling in Between. It included tour recordings and also an interview with the group.

The band decided to let him go at the end of the tour, and they hired singer/guitarist Joseph Williams in his place. David Hungate, the drummer also quit the band after the tour. Leland Sklar replaced him.

The TOTO Museum is an impressive futuristic building that has several rooms devoted to telling the story of the company and its most innovative product.
