Fifteen villages and eight communities surrounding the industrial areas from Anyang, China, were chosen as research objects in this study. A total of 78 windowsill dust and 78 surface soil samples were collected to determine the pollution levels, spatial distribution and risk indices of nine PTMs. PTM concentrations (expect Cr, Mn and Ni in surface soil) in the surveyed region were higher than the local soil background values. Amongst these PTMs, serious Cd and As pollution was discovered, and Cd and As in windowsill dust and surface soil exceeded the background value by 73.00 and 9.59, 9.74 and 10.92 times, respectively. Compared with the Igeo in surface soil, a large degree of variation in Igeo for the different PTMs was found in windowsill dust. The interpolated spatial distribution of dust Cr, Zn, Pb, Cd and soil Mn, Ni and Cu had a gradually decreasing pollution trend from the south to the north due to the prevailing wind directions in winter in the study area. Results of multivariate statistics reflected that industrial production and traffic emission affected the concentration of PTMs in windowsill dust and surface soil. The non-carcinogenic risks for children (soil 12.4; dust 19.2) were larger than those for adults (soil 1.02; dust 1.51). This finding suggested that industrial activities caused serious harm to the residents around industrial areas.Fungi living inside plants affect many aspects of plant health, but little is known about how plant genotype influences the fungal endophytic microbiome. However, a deeper understanding of interactions between plant genotype and biotic and abiotic environment in shaping the plant microbiome is of significance for modern agriculture, with implications for disease management, breeding and the development of biocontrol agents. For this purpose, we analysed the fungal wheat microbiome from seed to plant to seeds and studied how different potential sources of inoculum contributed to shaping of the microbiome. Limited information is available on the dynamics of Ga and In in soil-upland crop systems. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the effects of Ga and In on the growth and uptake of Ga and In by wheat plants grown in Ga- and In-contaminated soils. The wheat seedlings were planted in soils of different properties spiked with various Ga and In concentrations (50, 100, 200, and 400 mg kg-1). The plant-available Ga, In, and Al in the soils were extracted by 0.02 M CaCl2, and their concentrations in plant tissues of wheat seedlings and plant biomass were determined after harvesting. The results indicated that the Al toxicity of wheat seedlings increased with Ga and In concentrations in acidic soils. Indium phytotoxicity was found in both neutral and acidic soils. Plant analysis results indicated that the concentration of Ga and In in roots was approximately one order of magnitude higher than that in the shoots of wheat seedlings, and the capability for Ga translocation from roots to shoots was higher than for In. The results of this study suggest that the dynamics of Ga and In in soil-upland crop systems is strongly dependent on the soil properties, such as pH and Al availability.
In this study, we aimed to provide bibliometric and Altmetric overviews and visualization and to evaluate the correlation between traditional bibliometric and Altmetric analyses in the field of malnutrition.

Articles published in the past decade were identified by searching for the term "malnutrition" on the Web of Science indexing database and research platform. The top 50 cited articles were analyzed in terms of title, study type, topic of study, first author, publication year, citation number, keywords, organizations, average citations per year, journal H index, impact factor, and Altmetric attention score. Also, the top 50 Altmetric articles published in the past decade about malnutrition were provided on the website Altmetric.com.

Among the top 50 cited articles, the most common study type, topic of study, publication year, and keyword were, respectively, original scientific paper (n=26), definition-diagnosis of malnutrition (n=17), 2010 (n=13), and malnutrition (n=18). The article titled "Maternal and child undernutrition and overweight in low-income and middle-income countries" in Lancet had the highest citation number, and the article "Impacts of COVID-19 on childhood malnutrition and nutrition-related mortality" in Lancet had the highest Altmetric score.

Peripheral sensory neuropathy (PSN) caused by oxaliplatin-based adjuvant chemotherapy adversely affects patients' quality of life. This study evaluated the efficacy and safety of capecitabine plus oxaliplatin (CAPOX) with intermittent oxaliplatin use compared with the standard CAPOX in adjuvant therapy for colon cancer.

Patients with curative resection for stage II/III colon cancer were randomly assigned to receive either CAPOX with continuous oxaliplatin (eight cycles of CAPOX) or CAPOX with intermittent oxaliplatin (two cycles of CAPOX, four cycles of capecitabineand two cycles of CAPOX). The primary end-point was the 1-year PSN rate, and the key secondary end-point was disease-free survival (DFS).

Two hundred patients were enrolled in the intent-to-treat population. After 4 patients withdrew, 196 patients were included in the safety analysis. The overall treatment completion rate was 65% for continuous vs. 89% for intermittent treatment (p<0.001). The 1-year PSN rate was 60% (95% confidence interval [CI], 50%-70%) for continuous and 16% (95% CI, 10%-25%) for intermittent treatment (p<0.001). After a median follow-up of 52 months, 40 events (20%) were observed. The 3-year DFS was 81% (95% CI, 71%-87%) for continuous and 84% (95% CI, 75%-90%) for intermittent treatment (hazard ratio [HR], 0.87; 95% CI, 0.47-1.63). Among patients with high-risk disease (T4 or N2-3), the 3-year DFS was 57% for continuous vs. 74% for intermittent treatment (HR, 0.66).

CAPOX with planned intermittent oxaliplatin may be feasible as an adjuvant therapy for colon cancer and substantially reduce the duration of long-lasting PSN.

This discovery changes our view on the cellular role of Mg2+.The differentiation between Burkitt lymphoma/leukemia (BL) and B-cell precursor acute lymphoblastic leukemia (BCP-ALL) is sometimes complicated. Laboratory findings that favor BL (e.g., surface expression of μ heavy chain and/or one of the light chains of immunoglobulin, FAB L3 morphology of blasts, MYC gene rearrangements) are not always present simultaneously. Our previous work demonstrated that BL differed from Ig(+) BCP-ALL by expression of Ig and other surface markers. In the current study, we have evaluated additional flow cytometric markers for reliable differentiation between BL and BCP-ALL. Among three studied surface antigens (CD44, CD38, CD58), only CD58 demonstrated significantly higher expression in BL as compared to BCP-ALL. Moreover, BL cases were associated with an increased level of Ki-67 and a higher percentage of cells in the S-phase of cell cycle. These two features reflect an aggressive proliferative potential of BL. Thus, when BL is suspected and results of surface Ig evaluation are controversial, the flow cytometric analysis of CD58, Ki-67 and cell cycle could assist in the differential diagnosis.Protistan parasites have an undisputed global health impact. Given the ancient DNA is more challenging to work with, the protocol was developed with several improvements, especially multiplying DNA input in case of low concentration DNA extractions followed by AMPure® beads size selection and real-time pre-capture PCR monitoring in order to avoid cycle-optimization step.
