Other philosophers who developed pragmatist concepts in the early 1900s were George Herbert Mead and W.E.B Du Bois, who came up with pragmatic perspectives on social science and the study of race relations; Alain Locke, who came up with pragmatist theories about the structure of education and science and John Dewey, who articulated pragmatist ideas in areas including public policy, education, and democracy.

Today, pragmatism continues influence the development of scientific and technological applications, as well as the design and evaluation of curriculums and educational programs. In addition, there are a variety of pragmatic philosophical movements, like classical pragmatism and neopragmatism. John Dewey (1859-1952) was one of the most important figures in the pragmatists of classical times.
