We aimed to assess the feeding pattern and influencing factors within six weeks postpartum on exclusive breastfeeding duration among Chinese mothers. This study was conducted using 21 matched case-control study. Cases and controls were matched for maternal age, parity and mode of birth. A total of 210 women were included. Approximately 67.9% of women stopped exclusive breastfeeding within the first six weeks postpartum. Maternal non-exclusive breastfeeding intention, lower maternal educational level, mother-infant skin to skin contact over one hour, unsatisfied breastfeeding self-evaluation and maternal unhealthy condition within the first six weeks were risk factors for creasing exclusive breastfeeding early. The expression and localization of the oncoprotein c-Myc is highly regulated at the level of transcription, mRNA transport, translation, as well as stability of the protein. We previously showed that Annexin A2 (AnxA2) binds to a specific localization element in the 3'untranslated region (UTR) of c-myc mRNA and is involved in its localization to the perinuclear region. In the present study, we demonstrate that AnxA2 binds in a Ca2+-dependent manner to the internal ribosomal entry site (IRES) containing two pseudo-knots in the 5´UTR of the c-myc mRNA. Here, we employ an in vitro rabbit reticulocyte lysate system with chimeric c-myc reporter mRNAs to demonstrate that binding of AnxA2 to the c-myc IRES modulates the expression of c-Myc. Notably, we show that low levels of AnxA2 appear to increase, while high levels of AnxA2 inhibits translation of the chimeric mRNA. However, when both the AnxA2-binding site and the ribosomal docking site in the c-myc IRES are deleted, AnxA2 has no effect on the translation of the reporter mRNA. Forskolin-treatment of PC12 cells results in upregulation of Ser25 phosphorylated AnxA2 expression while c-Myc expression is down-regulated. The effect of forskolin on c-Myc expression and the level of Ser25 phosphorylated AnxA2 was abolished in the presence of EGTA. These findings indicate that AnxA2 regulates both the transport and subsequent translation of the c-myc mRNA, possibly by silencing the mRNA during its transport. They also suggest that AnxA2 act as a switch to turn off the c-myc IRES activity in the presence of calcium.Abbreviations AnxA2, Annexin A2; β2--µglob, β2-microglobulin; cpm, counts per minute; hnRNP, heterogenous nuclear ribonucleoprotein; IRES, internal ribosomal entry site; ITAF, IRES trans-acting factor; MM, multiple myeloma; PABP, poly(A)-binding protein; PCBP, poly(rC) binding protein; PSF, PTB-associated splicing factor; PTB, polypyrimidine tract binding protein; RRL, rabbit reticulocyte lysate; UTR, untranslated region; YB, Y-box binding protein.Variability of the unbound fraction in plasma (fu) between labs, methods and conditions is known to exist. Variability and uncertainty of this parameter influence predictions of the overall pharmacokinetics of drug candidates and might jeopardise safety in early clinical trials. Objectives of this study were to evaluate the variability of human in vitro fu-estimates between labs for a range of different drugs, and to develop and validate an in silico fu-prediction method and compare the results to the lab variability.A new in silico method with prediction accuracy (Q2) of 0.69 for log fu was developed. selleckchem The median and maximum prediction errors were 1.9- and 92-fold, respectively. Corresponding estimates for lab variability (ratio between max and min fu for each compound) were 2.0- and 185-fold, respectively. Greater than 10-fold lab variability was found for 14 of 117 selected compounds.Comparisons demonstrate that in silico predictions were about as reliable as lab estimates when these have been generated during different conditions. Results propose that the new validated in silico prediction method is valuable not only for predictions at the drug design stage, but also for reducing uncertainties of fu-estimations and improving safety of drug candidates entering the clinical phase. For revealing molecular markers related to the traits of multiple lumbar vertebrae in sheep, we analyze the relationship between NR6A1 gene polymorphism and lumbar vertebrae number traits in Xinjiang Kazakh sheep. Lumbar muscle tissues were collected from 6-lumbar spine (L6) Kazak sheep and 7-lumbar spine (L7) Kazak sheep and the intron-8 of NR6A1 gene was amplified by PCR. The SNP locus was detected by the PCR-SSCP method. One-Way ANOVA and an Independent Chi-square Test is adopted to analyze the genotype association with lumbar spine number variation. There were two SNP loci in the intron-8 of the NR6A1 gene IVS8-188 and IVS8-281. One-Way ANOVA and Independent Chi-square Test indicated a significant association between IVS8-281 and lumbar spine number. The SNP locus of NR6A1 gene intron 8 (IVS8-281G > A) could play a certain role in the variation of lumbar spine number in Xinjiang Kazakh sheep and demonstrates potential to accelerate the sheep breeding of selection process.
Given the important role of sexual activity in most people's lives, in response to the question of whether the coronavirus is transmitted through sexual contact, this study was conducted to investigate the association of coronavirus transition with sexual contact.
Based on the PRISMA checklist, we review published articles on sexual contact with the Corona virus until 15 February 2021. Electronic databases based on search strategy including PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science was searched to identify relevant papers in English language.
Retrieved from 4671, 29 titles and abstracts articles screened, eight were excluded. There were 21 articles in the selection criteria. Of the 21 studies whose full text was read, only 5 studies stated that coronavirus was not transmitted through sexual contact, and 16 articles argued that sexual transmission of the virus could not be ignored. Most studies have confirmed the transmission of the virus through semen, but its transmission through vaginal secretions is unknown.
Transmission of the virus through semen should be taken seriously in patients and the necessary education should be given to men and their sexual partners. Health care providers need to increase their knowledge and awareness to provide the best practices to reduction the risks related to Covid-19 sexual transmission through counseling and appropriate approaches.

A content analysis was conducted on a data set of 1,000 Twitter posts. The corpus of Tweets was examined using the persuasion frameworks; tweets that were identified as emanating from bots were further examined. Results found Anti-Vaccine messages predominantly used Anecdotal stories, Humor/Sarcasm, and Celebrity figures as persuasion techniques, while Pro-Vaccine messages primarily used Information, Celebrity figures, and Participation. Results also showed the Anti-Vaccine messages primarily focused on values related to the categories of Safety, Political/Conspiracy Theories, and Choice. Finally, results revealed Anti-Vaccine messages primarily used Perceived Severity and Perceived Susceptibility, which are fear appeal elements. The findings for messages by bots were comparable to the messages in the larger corpus of tweets. Based on the findings, a response framework-Health Information Persuasion Exploration (HIPE)-is proposed to address mis/disinformation and Anti-Vaccine messaging. The results of this study and the HIPE framework can inform a national COVID-19 vaccine health campaign to increase vaccine adoption. The Vaccinium genus comprises more than 126 genera of perennial flowering plants that are commonly adapted to poor and acidic soils or epiphytic environments. Their molecular and genomic characterization is a result of the recent advent in next-generation sequencing technology. In the current research, extracts were prepared in different media, such as petroleum ether, methanol and ethanol. An extract of Vaccinium macrocarpon (cranberry) was used at a dose of 200-400 mg/kg by weight (B.wt). Levels of oxidative stress markers, i.e., superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT), glutathione (GSH), advanced oxidation protein products (AOPPs) and malondialdehyde (MDA), were measured. A histopathological study of six vital organs in rats was also conducted. The results indicated that the antioxidant levels were lower in the group given only ethylene oxide (EtO) but higher in the groups receiving cranberry extract as a treatment. Major improvements were also observed in stress markers such as advanced oxidation protein products (AOPPs) and MDA following cranberry treatment. Histopathological changes induced by EtO were observed in the heart, kidney, liver, lung, stomach and testis and were reversed following cranberry treatment. The major toxic effects of EtO were oxidative stress and organ degeneration, as observed from various stress markers and histopathological changes. Our study showed that this extract contains strong antioxidant properties, which may contribute to the amelioration of the observed toxic effects.Having a family history of alcohol (FH+) use is a well-documented risk factor for alcohol use and alcohol related problems. However, there are limited studies examining the impact of FH + on current alcohol use among Latino immigrants. This study aimed to determine the influence of having a FH + on current alcohol use among Latino immigrants and the influence of alcohol outcome expectancies (AOEs) and acculturation on this relationship. This is a longitudinal secondary data analysis of data from the Recent Latino Immigrant Study (RLIS), the first community-based cohort study to examine pre- to post-immigration alcohol use trajectories of young adult Latino immigrants. Linear mixed models were performed to assess the association between various pre- and post-immigration factors and alcohol use among Latino immigrants. There were 518 young adult Latino immigrants with 18.7% reporting a FH + with those with a FH + having higher mean AUDIT score compared to those without (4.74 vs. 3.81; p = 0.028). Positive AOEs were associated with increase AUDIT scores. FH + individuals with greater positive AOEs experienced higher AUDIT scores compared to FH- individuals. Family cohesion was protective against alcohol use while endorsement of Americansism was associated with increased alcohol use. Theses results provide the framework for more in-depth exploration regarding the influences of FH+, AOEs, and acculturation have on the alcohol use among Latino immigrants. Future longitudinal research studies should account for whether traditional cultural values mediate or moderate the relationship between a FH+, AOE, and alcohol use of Latino immigrants.
