This increased facilitation may be particularly applicable to rehabilitative applications of loud acoustic stimuli in improving the functional recovery of movement after neurological conditions such as stroke.Female sex workers (FSWs) are at considerable risk of developing mental disorders due to the potential for violence associated with their work. However, few studies have comprehensively investigated the types of violence and their impact on the mental health of FSWs. Using data collected from 403 FSWs in Yangon, Myanmar, we investigated how various types of violence perpetrated by clients, employers, and partners affect the severity of mental disorders (anxiety and depression) among FSWs. Our results indicate that economic violence perpetrated by clients and threats of violence from partners induce severe symptoms of anxiety and depression. Although the characteristics of these oscillations are well documented in response to a range of complex visual stimuli, little is known about how these dynamics are impacted by concurrent motor responses, which is problematic as many common visual tasks involve such responses. Thus, in the current study, we used magnetoencephalography (MEG) and modified a well-established visual paradigm to explore the impact of motor responses on visual oscillatory activity. Thirty-four healthy adults viewed a moving gabor (grating) stimulus that was known to elicit robust alpha and gamma oscillations in occipital cortices. Frequency and power characteristics were assessed statistically for differences as a function of movement condition. Our results indicated that occipital alpha significantly increased in power during movement relative to no movement trials. No differences in peak frequency or power were found for gamma responses between the two movement conditions. These results provide valuable evidence of visuomotor integration and underscore the importance of careful task design and interpretation, especially in the context of complex visual processing, and suggest that even basic motor responses alter occipital visual oscillations in healthy adults.NEW & NOTEWORTHY Processing of visual stimuli is served by occipital alpha and gamma activity. Many studies have investigated the impact of visual stimuli on motor cortical responses, but few studies have systematically investigated the impact of motor responses on visual oscillations. We found that when participants are asked to move in response to a visual stimulus, occipital alpha power was modulated whereas gamma responses were unaffected. This suggests that these responses have dissociable roles in visuomotor integration.The relationships of the variety and quantity of different sources of dietary proteins with hypertension remain uncertain. We aimed to investigate associations between the variety and quantity of proteins intake from 8 major food sources and new-onset hypertension among 12 177 participants from the China Health and Nutrition Survey. Dietary intake was measured by 3 consecutive 24-hour dietary recalls combined with a household food inventory. The variety score of protein sources was defined as the number of protein sources consumed at the appropriate level, accounting for types and quantity of proteins. New-onset hypertension was defined as systolic blood pressure ≥140 mm Hg and diastolic blood pressure ≥90 mm Hg, or physician-diagnosed hypertension or receiving antihypertensive treatment, during the follow-up. During a median follow-up of 6.1 years, there were U-shaped associations of percentages energy from total, unprocessed or processed red meat-derived, whole grain-derived, and poultry-derived proteins with new-onset hypertension; an reverse J-shaped association of fish-derived protein with new-onset hypertension; L-shaped associations of eggs-derived and legumes-derived proteins with new-onset hypertension; and an reverse L-shaped association of refined grain-derived protein with new-onset hypertension (all P values for nonlinearity less then 0.001). That is, for each protein, there is a window of consumption (appropriate level) where the risk of hypertension is lower. Moreover, a significantly lower risk of new-onset hypertension was found in those with higher variety score of protein sources (per score increment, hazard ratio, 0.74 [95% CI, 0.72-0.76]). In summary, there was an inverse association between the variety of proteins with appropriate quantity from different food sources and new-onset hypertension.
There is no accepted definition or standardized monitoring for white coat hypertension in pregnancy. CDDO-Im This Delphi procedure aimed to reach consensus on out-of-office blood pressure (BP) monitoring, and white coat hypertension diagnostic criteria and monitoring.

Relevant international experts completed three rounds of a modified Delphi questionnaire. For each item, the predefined cutoff for group consensus was ≥70% agreement, with 60% to 70% considered to warrant reconsideration at the subsequent round, and <60% considered insufficient to warrant consideration.

Of 230 experts, 137 completed the first round and 114 (114/137, 83.2%) completed all three. For out-of-office BP monitoring, there was consensus that home BP monitoring (HBPM) should be chosen; instructions given, pairs of BP values taken, opportunity given for women to qualify values they do not regard as valid, and BP considered evaluated when ≥25% of values are above a cutoff. For HBPM, BP should be taken at least 2 to 3 d/wk, at minimum in the morning; however, many factors may affect frequency and timing. Experts endorsed a clinic BP <140/90 mm Hg as normal. While not reaching consensus, most agreed that HBPM values should be lower than clinic BP. Among those, HBPM <135/85 mm Hg was considered normal. There was consensus that white coat hypertension warrants HBPM at least 1 d/wk before 20 weeks, 2 to 3 d/wk after 20 weeks or if persistent hypertension develops, and symptom monitoring (ie, headache, visual symptoms, and right upper quadrant/epigastric pain).

Metabolism-related protein expression has been previously reported to predict tumor prognosis. We aimed to investigate glucose and glutamine metabolism-related protein expression and its implication in breast ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS). A tissue microarray was prepared for 205 DCIS cases. Glucose and glutamine metabolism-related proteins were immunostained. Based on the results of estrogen receptor, progesterone receptor, human epidermal growth factor receptor (HER)-2, and Ki-67, DCIS was classified into the luminal type, HER-2 type, and triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC). DCIS stroma was classified into non-inflammatory and inflammatory types per stromal histology. DCIS (N=205) was classified into luminal type (n=112), HER-2 type (n=81), and TNBC (n=12). Hexokinase II (p=0.044), GLS (p=0.003), and SLC7A5 (p less then 0.001) expression rates were the highest in TNBC. Inflammatory type stroma showed higher SLC7A5 (p less then 0.001) and SLC7A11 (p=0.008) expression rates than non-inflammatory type stroma. In summary, DCIS demonstrated differential expression of metabolism-related proteins according to the molecular subtype and stromal features. TNBC showed the highest glucose and glutamine metabolism-related protein expression, and inflammatory type stroma showed higher glutamine metabolism-related protein expression than non-inflammatory type stroma.There are several risk prediction models for screen-detected breast cancer but to the best of our knowledge, none for predicting risk from the interval cancer in breast cancer screening. The challenge for developing such a model was that the risk factors for both cancers appear to be similar, but the effects of interval cancer on women's health are more severe due to its higher biological aggressiveness. Our model is based on risk factors identified in the female population in the Republic of Croatia. Anonymized data from 472,395 women who participated in the National Program for Early Detection of Breast Cancer during the first three cycles of the program (October 2006-May 2014) were used. Cancer data from the Breast Cancer Screening Registry were linked by the data linkage method with data from the Cancer Registry of the Republic of Croatia. A total of 789 women with interval cancer and 3,530 women with screen-detected cancer were identified. Multivariate logistic regression in R was used to model the difference between participants with screen-detected cancer and those with interval cancer, using the general linear model (glm) function.
