The transcriptional expression level of ApoAI was higher in N. nuchalis inhabiting the deep-bay area with a high salinity (over 31 psu) than in N. nuchalis inhabiting the top of the estuary with a low salinity (6~15 psu). In addition, the expression patterns of N. nuchalis ApoAI were positively correlated with environmental factors (transparency, pH, TC, and TIC) in the high salinity area. These results suggest that ApoAI gene expression can reflect habitat characteristics of N. nuchalis which traverse broad salinity ranges and is associated with functional roles of osmoregulation and lipid metabolism for fish growth and development.Morganella morganii is one of the main etiological agents of hospital-acquired infections and no licensed vaccine is available against the pathogen. Herein, we designed a multi-epitope-based vaccine against M. morganii. Predicted proteins from fully sequenced genomes of the pathogen were subjected to a core sequences analysis, followed by the prioritization of non-redundant, host non-homologous and extracellular, outer membrane and periplasmic membrane virulent proteins as vaccine targets. Five proteins (TonB-dependent siderophore receptor, serralysin family metalloprotease, type 1 fimbrial protein, flagellar hook protein (FlgE), and pilus periplasmic chaperone) were shortlisted for the epitope prediction. The predicted epitopes were checked for antigenicity, toxicity, solubility, and binding affinity with the DRB*0101 allele. The selected epitopes were linked with each other through GPGPG linkers and were joined with the cholera toxin B subunit (CTBS) to boost immune responses. The tertiary structure of the vaccine was modeled and blindly docked with MHC-I, MHC-II, and Toll-like receptors 4 (TLR4). Molecular dynamic simulations of 250 nanoseconds affirmed that the designed vaccine showed stable conformation with the receptors. Further, intermolecular binding free energies demonstrated the domination of both the van der Waals and electrostatic energies. Overall, the results of the current study might help experimentalists to develop a novel vaccine against M. morganii.To promote low-carbon production, the government simultaneously provides some subsidies under carbon tax regulations. Two government subsidies are widely adopted one is based on emissions reduction quantity and the other is based on emissions reduction investment cost. Additionally, consumer low-carbon awareness has also been enhanced. Considering the aforementioned circumstances, this paper investigates the effects of different government subsidies on production and emissions reduction decisions under a carbon tax regulation by formulating three decision-making optimization models. The results show that (1) although the carbon tax regulation cannot guarantee further improvement of emissions reduction levels, government subsidies could make the corresponding conditions of improving emissions reduction investments wider; (2) a heavy carbon tax or stronger consumer low-carbon awareness would make the positive effect of government subsidies more apparent; and (3) subsidy policies may also be selected by the government from different perspectives, such as manufacturer development, consumer surplus, environmental damage and social welfare. Especially, from the perspective of maximizing social welfare, investment cost (IC) subsidy is not always advantageous, while emissions reduction (ER) subsidy can always bring higher social welfare compared with the case under no government subsidy.The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in many hospitalized patients and deaths worldwide. Coronavirus patients were isolated from their relatives and visits were banned to prevent contagion. This has brought about a significant change in deeply rooted care habits in Mediterranean and Latin American countries where the family normally accompanies vulnerable hospitalized patients. The aim of this qualitative study was to examine the hospitalization experience of COVID-19 patients and their family members. A phenomenological qualitative approach was used. Sixty adult men (age 21.98 [4.58] years, body mass 75.40 [15.70] kg, height 1.77 [0.09] m, and body mass index 24.19 [5.44] kg/m2; data are expressed as median [interquartile range]) were assigned to play exergame of beach volleyball in single- or multiplayer mode for approximately 30 min using the Xbox 360 Kinect®. The state anxiety level was evaluated before and after the intervention. There was no significant difference in the state anxiety levels after an exergame session between the single and multiplayer modes (p-value = 0.407, effect size (rB) = -0.12, defined as small). Furthermore, there was no significant difference in the state anxiety levels before and after an exergame session in single-player mode (p-value = 0.516, effect size (d) = 0.14, defined as trivial) and multiplayer mode (p-value = 0.053, rB = 0.43, defined as medium). In conclusion, state anxiety level after exergame beach volleyball did not differ between the single and multiplayer modes in adult men.Deterioration of the ecological environment in the upper and middle reaches of the Yellow River in China substantially impacts the growth and development of aquatic organisms in the drainage basin. This paper builds a conceptual model by applying flow components and fish ecological requirements relation with a relevant object of main fish in the upper and middle reaches of the Yellow River. The paper utilized the flow restoration method by employing the River2D model (two-dimensional model of river hydrodynamics and fish habitat), and a one-dimensional hydrodynamics HEC-RAS (hydrologic engineering center's-river analysis system). The calculation result showed that the runoff condition required for Silurus lanzhouensis survival is that the monthly lowest flow in a year is 150 m3·s-1, and the lowest flow for suitable flow from April to October is 150 m3·s-1, and 300 m3·s-1 from November to March. The research result is closer to the actual condition and has more outstanding operability. Meanwhile, the results proposed the coupling method of ecological water requirement for the mainstream of the Yellow River. Moreover, the results portrayed the ecological flow process according to the upper envelope of minimum and maximum ecological water requirements of each fracture surface. The research results highlight the need for convergence in providing opportunities to consider financial inclusion as a public good and an active tool to increase consumers' satisfaction and the quality of life of individuals.The rapid growth of artificially constructed mining camps has negatively impacted the camps' surrounding environment and the informal communities that have developed inside the camps. However, artisanal and small-scale gold mining (ASGM) is generally informal, illegal, and unregulated; thus, transformations of the mining activities and potential social-environmental problems resulting from these changes are not revealed. This study assesses the transformation of mining activities in camp-type ASGM sectors in Gorontalo, Indonesia, during 2014-2020 using remotely sensed data, such as Landsat series, nighttime light, and precipitation data obtained through Google Earth Engine. Results show that the combined growth of the built-up areas increased 4.8-fold, and their annual mean nighttime light increased 3.8-fold during 2014-2019. Furthermore, diverse increases in the sizes of area and nighttime light intensity were identified from the mining camps. Among the studied camps, since 2017, Motomboto camp 3 showed a particularly rapid change in activity regardless of the season of the year. Hence, these approaches are capable of identifying rapid transformations in the mining activities and provide significant insight into the socio-environmental problems originating from the closed and vulnerable camp-based ASGM sector. Our results also contribute to developing rapid and appropriate interventions and strengthening environmental governance.China has entered a "post-poverty alleviation" era, where the achievement of sustainable livelihoods by farmers has become a focus. This study used the China Family Panel Studies (CFPS) database, which was constructed based on an analysis of the DFID sustainable livelihood framework, and built a sustainable livelihood index system for farmers using the entropy weight method to measure the weights of sustainable livelihood indexes and calculate a sustainable livelihood index. This study used the Tobit model to discuss the impacts of different types of risk on the achievement of a sustainable livelihood by farmers. The results showed that environmental risk, chronic disease risk, and major disease risk all had significant negative impacts on the ability of farmers to achieve a sustainable livelihood. The impacts of major disease and chronic disease risks on the achievement of a sustainable livelihood by farmers living in plain areas were stronger than those associated with environmental risk. In China, the environmental risks were complex and diverse and were the most important factors that affect the achievement of a sustainable livelihood by rural households in mountainous areas.
