Teaching medical students how to teach is a growing and essential focus of medical education, which has given rise to student teaching programs. Educating medical students on how to teach can improve their own learning and lay the foundation for a professional identity rooted in teaching. Still, medical student-as-teacher (MSAT) programs face numerous obstacles including time constraints, prioritizing curriculum, and determining effective evaluation techniques. The purpose of this scoping review is to map the current landscape of the literature on medical school initiatives designed to train students to teach to describe why medical student teaching programs are started; the benefits and barriers; who teaches them; what content is taught; and how content is delivered. With this new map, the authors aimed to facilitate the growth of new programs and provide a shared knowledge of practices derived from existing programs.

The authors conducted a scoping review, guided by Arksey and O'Malley's framework, to mmedical students' designing and implementing programs.
The rapid growth of MSAT programs suggests that this curricular offering is of great interest to the field. Literature shows an increase in evaluative efforts among programs, benefits for students beyond learning to teach, and evidence of effective engagement in medical students' designing and implementing programs.
The purpose of this systematic review was to analyze the current literature on the clinical outcomes of physiotherapy (PT) program after reversed total shoulder arthroplasty (rTSA) and to summarize the improvements in this population.

A search was performed in four databases (MEDLINE, Embase, PubMed, Google Scholar) from its inception to 30 April 2020. Data were extracted to describe the study design and rehab programs. The quality of evidence was assessed as high, moderate, and low-level according to the Evaluation of Quality of an Intervention Study critical appraisal criteria.

There were 22 eligible studies including two randomized controlled trials, four prospective cohort studies, 10 retrospective reviews, five case-series, and one case-control study, with the sample sizes ranging from 9 to 474 patients followed for 1-10 years. All studies indicated substantial improvement in patients after PT program in terms of functional outcomes and forward flexion.

High-quality RCTs are required to provide mquired to provide more conclusive results. We identified substantial variation in the post-operative PT programs except for the progressive mobilization strategy and the common management following surgery to increase the soft tissue healing within 4-6 weeks.Implications for RehabilitationThe reverse shoulder arthroplasty (rTSA) has been widely utilized for patients with rotator cuff arthropathy, primary arthritis, and proximal fractures.A successful outcome of rTSA is not only depending on the surgical management, but also depended on physiotherapy (PT) programs.Our systematic review concluded that a 12-week PT program starting with immobilization for 4-6 weeks, followed by 3-4 phases PT exercises including PROM, AAROM, AROM, and strength training was recommended as common management for patients received rTSA.Due to the huge variation in the included studies, the evidence of PT protocol in our study was not sufficient to summarize the better clinical practice suggestions regarding rTSA rehabilitation.Synthetic dyes are toxic and their release into the environment harms the ecosystem. Phycoremediation of synthetic dyes with acclimatized and native species has advantages over other methods. In this study, textile effluent-acclimatized microalgae species of Oscillatoria were grown in Bold's Basal Medium (BBM), dried, powdered using sonication, and optimized the removal malachite green (MG), using the response surface methodology (RSM). The effects of algal biosorbent concentration (AC), pH, and contact time (CT) were studied with 1 g L-1 MG in an aqueous solution, and the interaction model exerted significance (p  less then  0.001). The removal of MG was higher at alkaline pH (90% at pH 8.5) than at acidic pH (70% at pH 4). Under the optimized conditions of 1.2 g L-1 AC, 8.5 pH, and 30 min CT, the MG removal was documented at 90.8% with the biosorption capacity of 757 mg g-1. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis revealed the occurrence of different electronegative functional groups, aromatic vibrations, and the crystalline nature of the biosorbent. The algal sorbent exhibited a good performance of 80.9% for the removal of the crude color in real textile effluents. This microalgal sorbent is an attractive option for promoting large-scale applications.
Since people with disabilities (PwD) are underrepresented in medical education, the authors of this article conducted a qualitative research in the form of an in-depth interview with students with disabilities from a medical school in Brazil, to characterize their experiences in medical education and identify barriers and facilitators to inclusion.

Participants were recruited by snowball sampling, signed an informed consent form, and completed a socioeconomic questionnaire. They were interviewed individually with open-ended questions so that they could develop narratives.

The students identified some barriers to inclusion - teachers' lack of knowledge about students' special needs, students' own lack of knowledge about their needs during the medical course, underestimation of the disability by teachers and classmates, difficult access to college buildings - and facilitators, such as acceptance of the disability by professors and colleagues, proactivity of professors and colleagues in adapting practical learning scenarios.

Students identified peer and teacher acceptance as an important determinant of inclusion, which is in line with the biopsychosocial view of disability. They also reported doubts about their ability to practice medicine, which dialogues with literature research that points to a medical culture that expects nothing less than perfection from students.

They also reported doubts about their ability to practice medicine, which dialogues with literature research that points to a medical culture that expects nothing less than perfection from students.To adequately address the grave human health risks and environmental damage caused by the uncontrolled utilization of organic dyes, we greenly synthesized iron oxide nanoparticles (IONPs) using Spirulina platensis micro-algae for sequestration of cationic methylene blue (MB) dye from an aqueous solution. The nano-engineered sorbent was thoroughly scrutinized by different spectral analyses of; FT-IR, SEM, EDX, BET surface area, TEM, VSM, UV/Vis spectroscopy, and PHPZC measurement. The adsorption of MB was methodically carried out in a batch process to investigate the effects of initial pH (2.2-10.4), adsorbent concentration (0.5-5.0 g L-1), initial dye concentration (10-1000 mg L-1), contact time (0-230 min), and adsorption temperature (298 K, 308 K, 318 K, and 328 K). The outlined results inferred that the maximum adsorption capacity of MB dye by IONPs (surface area of 134.003 m2/g, a total pore volume of 0.3715 cc/g, and average pore size of 5.54 nm) was 312.5 mg g-1 under the optimized pH value (i.e., pH = 10.4). Collectively, the adsorption kinetics profile showed that the experimental data were in good agreement with the PSORE model, and the equilibrium adsorption isotherm data were quantitatively dominated by the Langmuir model. The thermodynamic findings conformed to the endothermic nature of the adsorption process. Interestingly, the proposed microwave scenario enhanced the adsorption rate and the equilibrium was attained in a very short time (only 1 min), compared with the normal sorption conditions (∼70 min). Repeatability of the spent sorbent was successfully emphasized for 5 times of adsorption/desorption cycles using 0.5 M of HCl. The productive adsorbent admirably sequestered MB dye from spiked real specimens (>83%). These results demonstrated that IONPs can be considered as a cost-efficient adsorbent in practical applications such as wastewater purification.
Type I diabetes is a metabolic syndrome that severely impacts the normal lives of patients through its multiple complications, such as diabetic cardiomyopathy (DCM). Phoenixin-14 is a peptide found to be widely expressed in eukaryons with multiple protective properties, including anti-oxidative stress and anti-inflammatory effects. The present study aims to explore the potential therapeutic impacts of Phoenixin-14 on DCM.

Type I diabetes was induced by treatment with a single dose of STZ (40 mg/kg body weight) intraperitoneally for 5 consecutive days. Mice were divided into four groups the Control, Phoenixin-14, T1DM, and Phoenixin-14 +T1DM groups. Phoenixin-14 was significantly downregulated in the cardiac tissue of diabetic mice. The myocardial injury and deteriorated cardiac function in diabetic mice induced by STZ were significantly ameliorated by Phoenixin-14, accompanied by the alleviation of cardiac hypertrophy. In addition, the severe oxidative stress and inflammation in diabetic mice were dramatically mitigated by Phoenixin-14. Lastly, the downregulated SIRT3 and upregulated p-FOXO3 in diabetic mice were pronouncedly reversed by Phoenixin-14. It is worth mentioning that compared to the Control, no significant changes to any of the investigated parameters in the present study were found in the Phoenixin-14-treated normal mice, suggesting that treatment with it has no side effects.

A systematic review of the MEDLINE database was conducted to identify clinical outcome studies on isolated biceps tenodesis or tenotomy that reported patient satisfaction. Within the 15 investigations that were included, the indication for tenotomy was rotator cuff pathology, whereas the indication for tenodesis was biceps pathology or type 2 superior labral tear from anterior to posterior. Patients undergoing tenotomy were 13.6 years older than those undergoing tenodesis (P less then .001).
