What is missing is a shared transformational objective and priority to keep forests standing among all those involved from afar in the major forest frontiers in the tropics. Some lncRNA-associated competing endogenous RNAs (ceRNAs) are considered as potential biomarkers for targeted therapies and prognosis in human cancer. In our present study, we aimed to construct a ceRNA network and establish a genomic-clinicopathologic nomogram to provide insights into the molecular mechanisms and predict survival for HBV-related HCC. The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database was applied to collect the data of LIHC RNA-seq dataset and miRNA-seq dataset as well as the clinicopathological information. Identification of differentially expressed RNAs (mRNAs, lncRNAs, and miRNAs) between HBV-related HCC samples and normal samples was conducted using Limma package in R. The Database for Annotation, Visualization, and Integrated Discovery (DAVID) was used for performing the functional enrichment analysis of differentially expressed mRNAs. The ceRNA network was carried out using Cytoscape. The LASSO-penalized Cox regression analysis was implemented to identify HCC-related lncRNAs, and the multivariate Novel functional studies were provided by our current findings for elucidating the molecular mechanism of lncRNA in HBV-related HCC.Japanese encephalitis virus (JEV) is a flavivirus transmitted by mosquitoes that causes severe encephalitis in humans and animals. It has been suggested that AXL, a transmembrane protein, can promote the replication of various flaviviruses, such as dengue (DENV), Zika (ZIKV), and West Nile (WNV) viruses. However, the effect of AXL on JEV infection has not yet been determined. In the present study, we demonstrate that AXL is down-regulated after JEV infection in the late stage. JEV NS2B-3 protein specifically interacted with AXL, and promoted AXL degradation through the ubiquitin-proteasome pathway. AXL-degradation increased cell apoptosis by disrupting phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI3K)/Akt signal transduction. In addition, the degradation of AXL promoted JEV release to supernatant, whereas the virus in the cell lysates decreased. The supplementation of AXL ligand Gas6 inhibited the JEV-mediated degradation of AXL. Altogether, we discover a new function of NS2B-3 during the process of JEV replication, and provide a new insight into the interactions between JEV and cell hosts.Adult-to-adult living-donor liver transplantation (A2ALDLT) represents a challenging procedure, mainly when the right hepatic lobe is donated. Therefore, especially in Western countries, the medical community still considers it a "risky procedure". The present meta-analysis investigated the postoperative results reported in donors undergoing right hepatectomy for A2ALDLT through a minimally invasive liver resection (MILR) vs. open liver resection (OLR) approach, with the intent to clarify the hypothesis that the MILR approach should minimize the risks for the donor. A systematic literature search was performed using MEDLINE-PubMed, Cochrane Library, and EMBASE electronic databases. The primary outcome investigated was the complication rate after transplant. Fifteen studies were included (n = 2094; MILR = 553 vs. OLR = 1541). The MILR group only merged the statistical relevance in terms of advantage in terms of a lower number of complications (OR = 0.771, 95% CI 0.578-1.028; P value = 0.077). Investigating the complications ≥ IIIa according to the Dindo-Clavien classification, the estimated blood loss, and the length of hospital stay, no statistical difference was reported between the two groups. MILR represents a novel and promising approach for improving the results in A2ALDLT. However, no benefits have been reported regarding blood loss, length of stay, and postoperative complications. More extensive experiences are needed to re-evaluate the impact of MILR in right lobe live donation.
Additional research is warranted for the clinical significance of post-transplant hypertension and related antihypertensive medication use in kidney transplant (KT) recipients.

This observational study included nationwide KT recipients who maintained a functioning graft for at least 1year after KT in South Korea, observed between 2008 and 2017. The use of antihypertensive medications lasting between 6months and 1year was the main exposure, and those who had inconsistent/transient use of antihypertensive drugs were excluded. GLX351322 The prognostic outcome included death-censored graft failure (DCGF), death-with functioning graft (DWFG), and major adverse cerebrocardiovascular events (MACCEs).

We included 8,014 patients without post-transplant hypertension and 6,114 recipients who received treatment for hypertension in the post-transplant period. Those with post-transplant hypertension had asignificantly higherrisk of DCGF than those without [adjusted hazard ratio (HR) 1.27 (1.09-1.48)]. Post-transplant hypertensation, clinicians may consider that beta-blockers were associated with a higher risk of DCGF in the single-agent users.Porto-sinusoidal vascular liver disease (PSVD) is a disorder that can cause portal hypertension without liver cirrhosis. TAFRO syndrome is a systemic inflammatory disorder with a background of immunological abnormalities. We report a case of TAFRO syndrome complicated by PSVD with portal hypertension. A 39-year-old man developed refractory ascites and esophageal varices. Lymph node histology revealed multicentric Castleman disease-like features. Intravenous methylprednisolone and tocilizumab therapy improved ascites and renal dysfunction, but the patient developed severe infections. The diagnosis of TAFRO syndrome in patients complicated by PSVD with portal hypertension encourages the consideration of appropriate treatment for these patients.
Obesity is a public health problem worldwide. The eating habits of French workers need to be clarified. In particular, tachyphagia (meal lasting < 15min) promotes weight gain. The present study aimed to investigate the presence of tachyphagia at lunchtime, the factors associated with tachyphagia, and the relationship between tachyphagia and obesity among workers.

This cross-sectional study was conducted between January and May 2016 in five departments of occupational medicine. An anonymous self-administered questionnaire was used to gather general declarative data, such as weight and height (to calculate body mass index [BMI]) and information about lunchtime habits, including the time spent eating.

A total of 415 workers with a mean age of 41.1 ± 12.6years were included. The mean BMI was 23.8 ± 4.6kg/m
, and the prevalence of obesity was 15.9%. Tachyphagia occurred in 20.3% of the cases and was more frequent in younger workers. Multivariate analysis revealed that skipping meals, eating standing up, and eating fast food were positively associated with tachyphagia (p = 0.015, p = 0.028, and p = 0.027, respectively). Older age and eating with colleagues/friends were negatively associated with tachyphagia (p = 0.003 and p < 0.0001, respectively). No significant association was observed between tachyphagia and obesity.

Our study provides important information about the lunchtime habits of workers. Maintaining commensality is crucial, particularly in young workers. Companies should play a role in organising their employees' lunch breaks. Level III Evidence obtained from well-designed cohort or case-control analytic studies.

Worldwide, millions of patients are treated with thiopurines. The use of thiopurines has been limited because of off-target effects such as myelotoxicity and hepatotoxicity. Therefore, seeking methods to enhance target-based thiopurine-based treatment is relevant, combined with pharmacogenetic testing. Controlled-release formulations for thiopurines have been clinically tested and have shown promising outcomes in inflammatory bowel disease. Latest developments in nano-formulations for thiopurines have shown encouraging pre-clinical results, but further research and development are needed. This review provides an overview of novel drug delivery strategies for thiopurines, reviewing modified release formulations and with a focus on nano-based formulations. In this study, different dairy products such as ice cream, yoghurt, white pickled cheese, and fermented acidophilus milk were manufactured by using either Lactobacillus acidophilus DSM 20,079 or Lactobacillus acidophilus NCFM. The counts of L. acidophilus in the samples on days 1, 15, and 30 of the storage were determined. Additionally, the samples contained L. acidophilus were passed through a dynamic gastrointestinal model designed in laboratory conditions to compare the protective effect of different dairy products on viability of L. acidophilus against stress factors of the gastrointestinal model. The counts of L. acidophilus NCFM and L. acidophilus DSM 20,079 in the samples decreased by between 0.04 and 0.37 log units and by between 0.11 and 0.27 log units, respectively, within 30 days of storage. During the passage through the gastrointestinal model, the highest percentage reduction in the counts of L. acidophilus was determined in yoghurt followed by fermented acidophilus milk, white pickled cheese, and ice cream, respectively. The reduction in the counts of L. acidophilus in the samples during the passage through the model increased with extension of storage time. The results of this study showed that the reduction in the counts L. acidophilus in the samples during the passage through the model was influenced significantly by the matrix of the dairy product and storage period.
Several studies have recently reported that the relationships between serum vitamin D and the prognosis or the pathological response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) in breast cancer. However, there are no data regarding the clinical impacts of the vitamin D in Japanese breast cancer patients so far.

In the present study, a total of 250 patients with clinical Stage I-III primary breast cancer who were treated with NAC and subsequently underwent definitive surgery were included. Serum 25-hydroxvitamin D (25(OH)D) levels were evaluated using blood samples obtained before NAC.

The serum 25(OH)D was positively associated with age, and the serum 25(OH)D was significantly higher in postmenopausal women than that in pre/peri-menopausal women. Serum 25(OH)D level was not associated with the achievement of pathological complete response (pCR) in this cohort. The low 25(OH)D levels were significantly associated with shorter time to distant recurrence (TTDR). According to the univariate analysis, high clinical stage before NAC (cStage III) and low serum 25(OH)D level were significantly associated with the shorter TTDR, and pCR was significantly associated with the longer TTDR.
