Wild Solanum species are the important resources for potato improvement. With the availability of potato genome and sequencing progress, knowledge about genomic resources is essential for novel genes discovery. Hence, the aim of this study was to decipher draft genome sequences of unique potato genotypes i.e. somatic hybrid P8 (J1), wild species S. pinnatisectum (J2), progeny MSH/14-112 (P8 × cv. Kufri Jyoti) (J3), and S. tuberosum dihaploid C-13 (J4). Draft genome sequencing using Illumina platform and reference-based assemblies with the potato genome yielded genome assembly size of 725.01 Mb (J1), 724.95 Mb (J2), 725.01 Mb (J3), and 809.59 Mb (J4). Further, 39,260 (J1), 25,711 (J2), 39,730 (J3) and 30,241 (J4) genes were identified and 17,411 genes were found common in the genotypes particularly late blight resistance genes (R3a, RGA2, RGA3, R1B-16, Rpi-blb2, Rpi and Rpi-vnt1). Gene ontology (GO) analysis showed that molecular function was predominant and signal transduction was major KEGG pathways. Further, gene enrichment analysis revealed dominance of metabolic process (GO 0008152) in all the samples. Phylogeny analysis showed relatedness with potato and other plant species. Heterozygous single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) was more than homozygous, and SNP in genic region was more than inter-genic region. Copy number variation (CNV) analysis indicated greater number of deletions than duplications. Sequence diversity and conserved motifs analysis revealed variation for late blight resistance genes. Quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) analysis showed differential expression of late blight resistance genes. Our study provides insights on genome sequence, structural variation and late blight resistance genes in potato somatic hybrid (parents and progeny) for future research.The vertebrate mitochondrial genome is typically circular molecules made up of 14,000 to 16,000 bp, including 13 protein-coding genes (PCGs), 22 transfer RNA genes (tRNAs), two ribosomal RNA genes (12 s rRNA and 16 s rRNA) and a control region. Compared with nuclear DNA, mitochondrial DNA has a higher mutation rate, so it is one of the most effective and reliable molecular markers in fish phylogeny. Macrotocinclus affinis was the only species in Macrotocinclus (it was classified as Otocinclus in the past) and currently lacks genetic information. Most of the current researches are based on the mitochondrial Cytb gene and RAG1 and RAG2 nuclear genes to study the phylogenetic analysis of Siluriformes. So, the study provides the characteristic features of the Macrotocinclus affinis mitochondrial genome and this is the first time that the phylogenetic relationship of Siluriformes has been reconstructed based on COI. We aimed to sequence the entire mitochondrial genome of Macrotocinclus affinis using conventional PCR techniques and to clarify its phylogenetic status in Siluriformes by using the COI sequence of mitochondria. In this study, we sequenced the whole mitochondrial genome of this species yielding a 16,632 bp circular assembly composed of the typical vertebrate mitochondrial features. It contains 13 protein-coding genes, two rRNA genes, 22 tRNA genes, a putative control region, and one origin of replication on the light-strand. The overall base composition includes A (30.07%), T (24.43%), C (29.43%) and G (16.01%). The genome composition is A + T biased (54.5%), and exhibits AT-skew (0.1036) and GC-skew (-0.2962). Moreover, the 13 PCGs encode 3850 amino acids in total. The result of the phylogenetic tree supports Macrotocinclus affinis has a closest relationship with Otocinclus cf. hoppei far. We assessed the effects of temporal orienting by manipulating goal-driven temporal expectation (using probabilistic variations in target timing) and stimulus-driven temporal priming (using sequential repetitions versus switches in target timing). We tested how temporal orienting influenced the dynamics of response conflict resolution. Recent choice-reaching studies have indicated that under response conflict, delayed movement initiation captures the response threshold adjustment process, whereas increased curvature toward the incorrect response captures the degree of coactivation of the response alternatives during the controlled response selection process. Both temporal expectation and priming reduced the initiation latency regardless of response conflict, suggesting that both lowered response thresholds independently of response conflict. Notably, temporal expectation, but not temporal priming, increased the curvature toward the incorrect response on incongruent trials. These results suggest that temporal orienting generally increases motor preparedness, but goal-driven temporal orienting particularly interferes with response conflict resolution, likely through its influence on response thresholds. Overall, our study highlights the interplay between temporal orienting and cognitive control in goal-directed action.A growing body of evidence demonstrates a rhythmic characteristic of spatial attention, with the corresponding behavioral performance fluctuating periodically. Here, we investigate whether and how the rhythmic characteristic of spatial attention is affected by reward-an important factor in attentional selection. We adopted the classic spatial cueing paradigm with a time-resolved stimulus-onset-asynchrony (SOA) between the spatial cue and the target such that responses to the target in different phases could be examined. The color of the spatial cue was associated with either a high or low level of reward. Results showed that in the low-frequency band ( less then 2 Hz) where classic exogenous spatial attention effects (i.e., facilitation and inhibition of return; IOR) appeared, reward enhanced the late IOR effect through facilitating behavioral responses to the target at the uncued location. Recurring lower alpha power (alpha inhibition) which fluctuated in a low-theta frequency (2-3 Hz) was observed at the cued location relative to the uncued location, irrespective of the reward level of the cue. Importantly, the recurring alpha inhibition emerged earlier (~120 ms) in the high-reward condition relative to the low-reward condition. We propose that the recurring alpha inhibition at the cued location implies a recurring attention sampling at the cued location and the expectation of a high reward makes the periodic attention sampling emerge earlier.In the present paper, we explore the temporal dynamics of the flanker effect in the tactile modality and compare it with findings in the visual modality. We created a tactile version of the flanker task in which we presented groups of dots oriented either vertically or horizontally to a participant's fingertips. The target stimulus was presented to the middle finger, while the flanker stimuli were presented to the index and the ring fingers. Distributional analyses of the latency data show a tactile flanker effect an overall facilitation for congruent target-flanker trials relative to incongruent trials, and a higher effect size for slower correct responses (higher quantiles) than for faster correct responses (lower quantiles). While this congruency effect may resemble the one typically reported in the visual modality, there are differences between these two modalities as well, mainly related to the relative speed of error and correct responses. In the experiment, three MFCs were operated under different external resistances (100 Ω, 1000 Ω and 10,000 Ω), while one MFC was operated with open circuit as control. All MFCs demonstrate good capacity for simultaneous sulfide and nitrate biotransformation regardless of external resistance. MFCs present similar voltage profile; however, the output voltage has positive relationship with external resistance, and the MFC1 with lowest external resistance (100 Ω) generated highest power density. High-throughput sequencing confirms that taxonomic distribution of suspended sludge in anode chamber encompass phylum level to genus level, while the results of principal component analysis (PCA) suggest that microbial communities are varied with external resistance, which external resistance caused the change of electricity generation and substrate removal at the same, and then leads to the change of microbial communities.
