Coaches are key figure in sporting environments and hold pivotal roles in preventing injury. Therefore, the aim of this study was to investigate the attitudes of field hockey coaches to injury and injury prevention. Thirteen field hockey coaches from the amateur Irish Hockey League were interviewed. Reflexive thematic analysis led to three general dimensions comprised five higher-order themes, categorised from 16 lower-order themes. Coaches had positive beliefs regarding the benefits of injury prevention over injury management. However, they lacked the necessary knowledge and skills to successfully implement injury prevention strategies with players. Coaches recognised the importance of empowering players to self-manage training loads to promote injury prevention but acknowledged the need to protect younger players from increased loads. Many barriers to injury prevention were not controllable by coaches including fixture congestion and poor structuring of the sport's domestic calendar. While coaches can play a key role in the implementation of injury prevention strategies, there is also a requirement to examine how system level barriers to injury prevention can be reduced.
There are currently no best practice recommendations for lymphocyte subset monitoring for patients with multiple sclerosis (pwMS) on disease-modifying therapies including Tecfidera® (dimethyl fumarate, DMF). However, there have been several cases of pwMS on DMF without severe lymphopenia who had high CD4CD8 T cell ratios and went on to develop progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy.
Our objective was to characterize the changes in immune profile during and after DMF treatment in pwMS.
A retrospective analysis of longitudinal data from 299 pwMS who have been treated with DMF at the Fraser Health Multiple Sclerosis Clinic in British Columbia, Canada. The blood test results were taken from January 1, 2013 to April 1, 2020.
Our results suggest that CD8+ T cells had the highest proportional decrease compared to other lymphocyte subset populations and overall lymphocyte count in response to DMF treatment. CD56+ Natural Killer cells were similarly decreased in response to DMF treatment. CD4CD8 T cell ratio was the measurement that had the highest rate of change in response to DMF initiation and discontinuation.

Treatment-emergent adverse events (TEAEs) that occur close to treatment initiation may negatively affect overall tolerability and adherence. It is important to develop a clear understanding of potential early TEAEs after initiating treatment with cladribine tablets.
To identify TEAEs that begin early in the course of treatment in patients enrolled in CLARITY and ORACLE-MS studies.
This
analysis of CLARITY and ORACLE-MS safety populations assessed the incidence of TEAEs, serious TEAEs, drug-related TEAEs, and TEAEs leading to discontinuation in patients receiving cladribine tablets or placebo within 2, 6, and 12 weeks after treatment initiation.
By Week 12, 61.3% of patients treated with cladribine tablets 3.5 mg/kg and 55.2% treated with placebo experienced a TEAE. More patients receiving cladribine tablets versus placebo experienced a drug-related TEAE by Week 12 (34.7% vs. 23.2%). The most common TEAEs reported with cladribine tablets were headache (7.2%), lymphopenia (6.8%), and nausea (6.0%). Patients receiving cladribine tablets and placebo reported similar proportions of serious TEAEs (2.2% vs. 1.7%) and TEAEs leading to treatment discontinuation (1.6% vs. 1.4%).
Cladribine tablets were well tolerated during the first 12 weeks as evidenced by a low incidence of TEAEs leading to treatment discontinuation.

A 7-year-old spayed female domestic shorthair cat weighing 5 kg was referred with polyuria, polydipsia, lethargy, abdominal distension and dermatologic abnormalities. Diabetes mellitus was diagnosed and treatment was started with a diet for diabetic cats and insulin glargine (1 IU q12h SC). Hyperadrenocorticism (HAC) was suspected and diagnosed based on clinical signs, increased urinary cortisolcreatinine ratio, lack of suppression on low-dose dexamethasone suppression test and abdominal ultrasonography demonstrating bilateral adrenal enlargement. Oral cabergoline (10 μg/kg every other day) was initiated. After the second administration of cabergoline, the cat suffered from clinical hypoglycemia and no longer required insulin. One month after insulin withdrawal, blood work and urine analysis results showed normoglycemia, a normal serum fructosamine concentration (244 μmol/l) and normal urine analysis without glycosuria. Diabetic remission persisted until its death 7 months later. In addition, cabergoline treatment was associated with improvement in clinical signs such as lethargy, seborrhea, alopecia and abdominal distension.
To our knowledge, this is the first reported case of the use of cabergoline in a cat with HAC, as well as the first reported case of diabetic remission in a cat with HAC after cabergoline treatment. Cabergoline could be an alternative treatment for diabetic cats with pituitary-dependent HAC. Further work should focus on different protocols with greater number of cases.

The aim of this study was to evaluate whether haemotropic
species are detected in pet cats in Latvia, to perform a phylogenetic analysis of the detected pathogens and to report a clinical case of feline infectious anaemia.
Peripheral blood samples (n = 125) from pet cats were submitted; 99 samples were adequate to test for the presence of
species DNA by nested PCR. A clinical case was added in the later stages of the study. Positive isolates were subjected to phylogenetic analysis.

Mycoplasma turicensis' was 2% (n = 2/99). Cases of coinfection included '

The Canadian Nephrology Trials Network (CNTN) was formed in 2014 to support Canadian researchers in developing, designing, and conducting prospective studies in nephrology. In response to the changing landscape and needs within the Canadian nephrology research community, an interest in further growth and development of the network was identified. In the following report, we describe the process undertaken to re-envision the network through the creation of 3 new committees and how the committees are facilitating change and growth within the CNTN for future sustainability.
To understand areas for improvement and capacity building, the organization charged with overseeing the CNTN, Canadians Seeking Solutions and Innovations to Overcome Chronic Kidney Disease (Can-SOLVE CKD), began by conducting an environmental scan. Here, we described bear diets with a novel approach, measuring the concentration of chlorophyll in bear scats (faecal chlorophyll) to index the proportion of the recent diet that was composed of leaves from graminoids and forbs. We measured faecal chlorophyll and faecal cortisol in 351 grizzly (Ursus arctos, n = 255) and black bear (Ursus americanus, n = 96) scats from Yellowstone National Park in 2008-2009. We compared models of faecal chlorophyll and faecal cortisol concentrations considering the effects of spatial, dietary, scat and bear-specific factors including species.
