Computational Recouvrement involving Clonal Hierarchies From Mass Sequencing Files of Severe Myeloid Leukemia Examples.
Reduced pain was associated with improvements in aspects of mood and anxiety. The results generally suggest increased THC exposure was related to pain-related improvement, while increased CBD exposure was related to improved mood. Cannabis expectancies were not related to observed improvements. Pilot analyses revealed that treatment-as-usual patients do not demonstrate the same pattern of improvement. Findings highlight the potential efficacy of MC treatment for pain and underscore the unique impact of individual cannabinoids on specific aspects of pain and comorbid symptoms. The current exploratory study hypothesized that differences in underlying mesocorticolimbic circuitry may mediate the relationship between personality and responses to stimulants due to its previously established implication in reward processes as well as the overlap between its dopaminergic projections and the pharmacodynamics of many stimulants. Forty participants (20 female) were recruited with relatively high- and low-impulsivity and sensation-seeking scores as defined by the Zuckerman-Kuhlman Personality Questionnaire (Form IIIR; Zuckerman, Kuhlman, Joireman, Teta, & Kraft, 1993) for a double-blind, placebo-controlled, intranasal amphetamine administration study conducted within an MRI scanner. Active state seed-to-voxel connectivity analyses assessed the effects of amphetamine, personality, subjective responses to amphetamine, and their interactions with mesocorticolimbic seeds on data collected during monetary incentive delay and go/no-go task performance. Results indicated that amphetamine administration largely disrupted brain activity as evidenced by connectivity values shifting toward no correlation among brain stem, striatal, and frontal cortex regions. Additionally, associations of impulsivity and connectivity between ventral tegmental and medial orbitofrontal as well as lateral orbitofrontal and putamen regions were inverted from negative to positive during the placebo and amphetamine conditions, respectively. Personality was unrelated to subjective responses to amphetamine. Results are interpreted as providing evidence of underlying differences in mesocorticolimbic circuitry being a potential target for requisite diagnostic and treatment strategies implicated with stimulant use disorders, but further research is needed. This is of particular interest for the acquisition of idioms, which are multiword expressions in which the literal meanings of the component words do not (always) directly contribute to overall phrasal meaning, resulting in a figurative interpretation. Figurative meaning access is speeded both by idiom-internal characteristics, like higher collocational frequency, and idiom-external characteristics, like supportive contexts. We examined the relationship between the collocational frequency of idioms' component words and the context in which an idiom is embedded. In a visual world eye-tracking study, advanced nonnative English speakers heard incomplete English phrases embedded within contexts that biased either literal or idiomatic continuations and saw images representing literal or figurative completions, or distractor images. Participants showed higher looks to figurative completions that were at odds with contextual bias, suggesting that integrating frequency information in context in adult L2 users may be overridden when a phrase is figurative. However, higher-proficiency participants showed more successful suppression of inappropriate figurative continuations. check details These results suggest that idiom conventionality when compared to literal phrases may be a stronger driver of predictive looks than collocational frequency or contextual bias alone, and that sensitivity to contextual fit when processing idioms may still be developing even among very advanced L2 users. To determine whether differences in overt attention allocation contribute to these individual differences, the current study examined whether looking times to landmarks and other objects while navigating in a dynamic virtual environment were related to cognitive map accuracy. Participants completed a battery of spatial tests; some tests assessed spatial skills prior to the navigation task (the Santa Barbara Sense of Direction Scale and the Spatial Orientation Test), and others tested memory of the virtual environment Silcton after an exploration period (a landmark recognition task, a direction estimation task, a map-building task, and a route construction task). Individuals with inaccurate cognitive maps of Silcton, as measured by the direction estimation and map-building tasks, showed equivalent eye fixations to buildings and objects when exploring Silcton as those with accurate maps. Despite similar looking times, the inaccurate mappers were significantly worse at judgments of relative direction between landmarks in Silcton and showed poorer memory for landmarks in Silcton than accurate mappers. These findings suggest that cognitive mechanisms, such as mental perspective-taking, occurring after attention allocation underlie differences in cognitive map accuracy. Previous work in modelling humour judgments has succeeded by focusing on the world's worst jokes the slight humour of single nonwords (Westbury, Shaoul, Moroschan, & Ramscar, 2016) and single words (Westbury & Hollis, 2019). Here that work is extended to the world's third-worst jokes, adjective-noun pairs such as dancing dildo, flabby goldfish, and pompous snack. Participants used best-worst scaling to rate the humour of random word pairs. Those judgments were modelled using both linear regression and genetic programming, which is not constrained by assumptions of linearity. The linear regression models were as successful as the nonlinear models at predicting humour judgments, accounting for 27% of the variance in a 540-item validation set. Predictors associated only with the noun and with the relationship between the adjective and noun accounted for much more variance (over 14% each) than predictors associated only with the adjective (6.
