cting changes in PCAT attenuation than polychromatic CT. PCAT attenuation assessed by CT40 keV may provide a novel imaging marker of plaque vulnerability.
To evaluate quantitative iodine parameters from the arterial phase dual-energy computed tomography (DECT) scans as an imaging biomarker for tumor grade (TG), mitotic index (MI), and Ki-67 proliferation index of hepatic metastases from neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract. Imaging biomarkers have the potential to provide relevant clinical information about pathologic processes beyond lesion morphology. NETs are a group of rare, heterogeneous neoplasms classified by World Health Organization (WHO) TG, which is derived from MI and Ki-67 proliferation index. Imaging biomarkers for these pathologic features and TG may be useful.
Between January 2014 and April 2019, 73 unique patients with hepatic metastases from NET of the GI tract underwent DECT of the abdomen with an arterial phase were analyzed after exclusions. Using GSIViewer software (GE Healthcare, Madison, Wisconsin), elliptical regions of interest (ROIs) were placed over selected hepatic metastases by a fellowship trained abtive iodine parameters stands in contrast to existing literature that reports positive correlations for these parameters in the rectum and stomach.
Our study finds limited potential for quantitative parameters from DECT to distinguish neuroendocrine hepatic metastases by WHO TG, as well as limited potential as an imaging biomarker for Ki-67 proliferation and mitotic indices in this setting. Our findings of a lack of correlation between Ki-67 and quantitative iodine parameters stands in contrast to existing literature that reports positive correlations for these parameters in the rectum and stomach.
Percutaneous sacroiliac screw fixation is the standard treatment for sacroiliac joint (SIJ) dislocation. In most hospitals, the procedure is guided by a C-arm X-ray fluoroscopy system, which must be repeatedly repositioned during surgery. In this study, we investigated the feasibility of using 2 fluoroscopes simultaneously.
A total of 28 consecutive patients with SIJ dislocation were included in this study. The patients were randomly allocated to groups and underwent percutaneous sacroiliac screw fixation using either 1 or 2 fluoroscopes. Total radiation exposure frequency, radiation dose, and operation time were recorded and compared. Dislocation reduction quality was assessed using the Tornetta and Matta standard, and the Majeed functional score was used to evaluate clinical, imaging, and social function following pelvic injury. Complications were also recorded.
The results showed that the radiation exposure frequency was significantly less with 2 fluoroscopes than with a single fluoroscope (21.5±8.6 and appropriate during percutaneous sacroiliac screw fixation to treat SIJ dislocation, and can significantly reduce radiation exposure frequency and operation time.
An anomalous origin of the right coronary artery from the left coronary artery sinus is usually characterized by an acute take-off angle. Most affected patients have no clinical symptoms; however, some patients have decreased blood flow into the right coronary artery during exercise, which can lead to symptoms such as myocardial ischemia. Most researchers who have studied an anomalous origin of the right coronary artery from the left coronary artery sinus have done so through clinical cases. In this study, we used numerical simulation to evaluate the hemodynamics of this condition and the effect of an acute take-off angle on hemodynamic parameters. We expect that the results of this study will help in further understanding the clinical symptoms of this anomaly and the hemodynamic impact of an acute take-off angle.
Three-dimensional models were reconstructed based on the computed tomography images from 16 patients with a normal right coronary artery and 26 patients with an anomalous origin of the right cor5-0.0341, r=-0.459 to -0.4167).
This study shows that an anomalous origin of the right coronary artery from the left coronary artery sinus causes changes in hemodynamic parameters, and that an acute take-off angle in patients with this anomaly is associated with terminal ischemia of the right coronary artery.

It is challenging to differentiate between phyllodes tumors (PTs) and fibroadenomas (FAs). Artificial intelligence (AI) can provide quantitative information regarding the morphology and textural features of lesions. This study attempted to use AI to evaluate the ultrasonic images of PTs and FAs and to explore the diagnostic performance of AI features in the differential diagnosis of PTs and FAs.
A total of 40 PTs and 290 FAs <5 cm in maximum diameter found in female patients were retrospectively analyzed. All tumors were segmented by doctors, and the features of the lesions were collated, including circularity, height-to-width ratio, margin spicules, margin coarseness (MC), margin indistinctness, margin lobulation (ML), internal calcification, angle between the long axis of the lesion and skin, energy, grey entropy, and grey mean. Cladribine cost The differences between PTs and FAs were analyzed, and the diagnostic performance of AI features in the differential diagnosis of PTs and FAs was evaluated.
Statistically s is important for the differential diagnosis of PTs and FAs.
Quantitative analysis of AI can identify subtle differences in the morphology and textural features between small PTs and FAs. Comprehensive consideration of multiple features is important for the differential diagnosis of PTs and FAs.
Thoracic ossification of the ligamentum flavum (OLF) is a major cause of thoracic myelopathy, which is often accompanied by multiple segmental stenosis or other degenerative spinal diseases. However, in the above situations, it is difficult to determine the exact segment responsible. The objective of this study was to analyze three-dimensional (3D) radiological parameters in order to establish a novel diagnostic method for discriminating the responsible segment in OLF-induced thoracic myelopathy, and to evaluate its superiority compared to the conventional diagnostic methods.
Eighty-one patients who underwent surgery for thoracic myelopathy caused by OLF from 2016 to 2020 were enrolled in this study as the myelopathy group, and 79 patients who had thoracic OLF but displayed no definite neurological signs from 2018 to 2020 were enrolled as the non-myelopathy group. We measured the one-dimensional (1D), two-dimensional (2D), and 3D radiological parameters, calculated their optimal cutoff values, and compared their diagnostic values.
