Cutaneous fibrous histiocytoma (CFH) is a common, benign skin tumor predominantly occurring on the extremities or trunk. However, CFH on the finger is rare.

This study was undertaken to examine the clinicohistopathological features of CFH of the finger.

This is a retrospective study of 12 CFHs located on fingers in a tertiary hospital in Korea. All case slides were retrieved from saved files.

Ages of the CHF of the finger affected individuals ranged from 9 to 48 years with a male-to-female ratio of 1.41. Picker's nodule or wart was the most common clinical diagnosis. In only 2 out of the 12 cases was the pre-biopsy diagnosis of CFH ventured. Fibrocollagenous type was the most common histological type. Majority of the cases were mitotically inactive, exhibiting only 0-1 mitoses per high-power field and there was no recurrence. Tumor cells were uniformly CD34 negative.

Because CFH can resemble malignancies including dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans, a lack of familiarity with the occurrence of CFH of the finger may lead to more aggressive treatment. Dermatologists should include CFH in their differential diagnosis of circumscribed nodules on the fingers to ensure proper management.

Daytime symptoms of disturb sleep mimic that of depression, somatoform disorder, fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome. We are presenting a case of depression who was not responding to antidepressant therapy. Based on clinical history, diagnosis was changed to chronic fatigue syndrome and in view of prominent sleep disturbances, polysomnography was done. Based on sleep study data, diagnosis of periodic limb movement disorder was made and he was started on ropinirole, that improved his symptoms.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the impact of lockdown and COVID-19 pandemic on mental health services in India's various training centers.

In an online survey, information was collected from various training centers of India through E-mail or WhatsApp.

Responses were received from 109 institutes. The majority of the responses were received from state-funded government medical colleges and private medical colleges. Since the lockdown and COVID-19 pandemic, brain stimulation treatments have completed stopped. Other, most affected services included electroconvulsive therapy, inpatient services, outpatient services, and psychotherapy services. Clinically, the treatments against asthma focus on controlling the symptoms rather than inhibiting recurrence radically. Additionally, local and systemic side effects caused by current treatments are worthy of attention. Therefore, a novel therapeutic strategy against asthma is needed. Asatone is a pharmacologically active component from Radix et Rhizoma Asari, which has anti-inflammatory effects in lipopolysaccharide-induced lung injury. In the present study, we showed that asatone could protect mice against OVA-induced asthma, as manifested by attenuating inflammation infiltration, mucus production, and airway hyperreactivity and suppressing the elevation of IL-4, IL-5, and IL-13 in broncho-alveolar lavage fluid. Overall, results of the present study support use of asatone as a potent therapeutic strategy for clinical treatment of allergic asthma.Macrodystrophia lipomatosa (ML) is a rare, non-hereditary, developmental anomaly that occurs because of the progressive proliferation of all mesenchymal elements of single or multiple digits or entire extremity, with a disproportionate increase in fibroadipose tissue. Commonly one or few digits of an extremity will be enlarged and present as macrodactyly or as enlarged limb. Lower limb involvement is more common and frequently unilateral. The diagnosis of ML is made by accurate clinical assessment and imaging modalities, such as plain X-ray, computed tomography scan, magnetic resonance imaging, and confirmed by histopathological study. In this case, we described a 10-year-old child who was brought to us with enlarged upper and lower extremities and was diagnosed as a case of ML with the help of clinico-radiological studies and presented here because of focal gigantism involving all four limbs, which is very rare.Pemphigus vulgaris is an autoimmune disorder characterized by intraepithelial, blistering lesions affecting the skin and mucous membrane. We describe a unique development of Lilliputian hallucinations, their transformation into Brobdingnagian hallucinations on treatment with steroids and gradual resolution back to Lilliputian status on treatment with risperidone. This unique phenomenon carries it significance in the literature from psychopathological perspective.Previous studies found that Forkhead box D4 (FOXD4) overexpressed in human colorectal cancer had the worst prognosis. However, the diagnostic value and further mechanism have not been fully researched. Statistical examinations for FOXD4 expression colon adenocarcinoma (COAD) patients were obtained from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA). Survival analysis was used to assess its prognostic value. Nomogram model was used for visual prediction of patient survival rate. The online functional enrichment analysis tool was used to evaluate the biological functions and pathways of FOXD4 and its co-expressed genes. Receiver operating characteristic curve analysis suggested that FOXD4 might be a diagnostic biomarker for COAD (P less then 0.001, area under the curve [AUC]=0.728, 95% confidence interval [CI]=0.669-0.787). Low expression of FOXD4 was associated with a good clinical outcome (P=0.001, HR=0.517, 95% CI=0.341-0.782). A total of 797 genes were correlated with FOXD4 and associated with cell proliferation, cell differentiation, nuclear matrix, Rap1 signaling pathway, RNA transport, and VEGF signaling pathway.
