05).Inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor (IMT) is a very rare mesenchymal tumor that can behave as a locally benign or aggressive lesion. Here, we present an extremely rare case of IMT involving the subglottic of a middle-aged male. Steroid therapy treatment alleviated dyspnea, but the recurrence of dyspnea was reported two months later. Both sides of the subglottic tumor were excised following treatment, and the surgical specimens were subjected to histopathological evaluation and diagnosis for IMT. At 4 years after excision, follow-up laryngoscopy revealed symmetric vocal cords without evidence of any subglottic mass. Subglottic mass is often asymptomatic until it presents with hoarseness or dyspnea, and subglottic IMT is rare. Based on the successful treatment of our case, complete surgical excision is highly recommended for this rare tumor. However, further research is needed to discover a more effective and cost-effective treatment approach.
Cervical cancer is the overall fourth most common malignancy and the fourth most common cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide. Despite vaccination and screening programs, many women continue to present with advanced stage cervical cancer, wherein the treatment options have been limited.
In this review, immunotherapy and the potential targeted therapies that have demonstrated promise in the treatment of persistent, recurrent, and metastatic cervical cancer are discussed.

Two potential candidate genes (SREBF1 and SREBF2) have been identified as affecting milk traits. This study aims to identify the SREBF family of genes and find candidate markers or SREBF genes influencing lactation production in buffalo. A genome-wide study was performed and identified seven SREBF genes randomly distributed on 7 chromosomes and 24 protein isoforms in buffalos. The SREBF family of genes were also characterized in cattle, goat, sheep and horse, and using these all-protein sequences, a phylogenetic tree was built. The SREBF family genes were homologous between each other in the five livestock. Eight single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) within or near the SREBF genes in the buffalo genome were identified and at least one milk production trait was associated with three of the SNP. The expression of SREBF genes at different lactation stages in buffalo and cattle from published data were compared and the SREBF genes retained a high expression throughout lactation with the trend being the same for buffalo and cattle. These results provide valuable information for clarifying the evolutionary relationship of the SREBF family genes and determining the role of SREBF genes in the regulation of milk production in buffalo.
The aim of this study was to examine bereavement support for siblings of patients who die in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) given the adverse effects of unprocessed grief and the paucity of information on children whose newborn siblings die STUDY DESIGN This was an anonymous online original survey assessing pre-COVID-19 pandemic bereavement services for NICU families, clinicians' attitudes toward support interventions, challenges, and center characteristics. In spring 2020, nurse managers at 81 U.S. centers with neonatology and maternal-fetal medicine fellowship programs were asked to identify the individual most knowledgeable in their NICU's bereavement support services; these individuals were invited by email to complete an original online survey. This study aimed to identify predictors of thyroid gland invasion in patients with LSCC and management of the thyroid gland during total laryngectomy. Patients and Methods Clinical data and pathological characteristics of 113 patients, who underwent laryngectomy with thyroidectomy for advanced LSCC in Guangdong Provincial People's Hospital between 2009 and 2019, were retrospectively analyzed. The incidence and predictors of thyroid gland invasion were analyzed, and a new predictor was proposed using a parallel test. Results Of 113 patients, 25.7% exhibited thyroid invasion. A new predictor that combined the lower third of thyroid cartilage invasion and thyroid gland invasion on computed tomography/magnetic resonance imaging (CT/MRI) was associated with pathological thyroid gland invasion (P = 0.001; sensitivity, 88.2%; negative predictive value, 95%). Conclusion Thyroidectomy may be required during total laryngectomy in those with invasion of the lower third of thyroid cartilage and/or thyroid gland invasion revealed on CT/MRI instead of being performed routinely.Objective.Magnetic particle imaging (MPI) is a new medical, non-destructive, imaging method for visualizing the spatial distribution of superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles. In MPI, spatial resolution is an important indicator of efficiency; traditional techniques for improving the spatial resolution may result in higher costs, lower sensitivity, or reduced contrast.Approach.Therefore, we propose a deep-learning approach to improve the spatial resolution of MPI by fusing a dual-sampling convolutional neural network (FDS-MPI). An end-to-end model is established to generate high-spatial-resolution images from low-spatial-resolution images, avoiding the aforementioned shortcomings.Main results.We evaluate the performance of the proposed FDS-MPI model through simulation and phantom experiments. The results demonstrate that the FDS-MPI model can improve the spatial resolution by a factor of two.Significance.This significant improvement in MPI could facilitate the preclinical application of medical imaging modalities in the future.
To examine associations between non-otologic medical conditions and auditory dysfunction.
Cross-sectional analysis of baseline data from the Noise Outcomes in Service members Epidemiology (NOISE) study. Logistic regression was used to estimate the association between medical conditions (0, 1, and 2 or more conditions) and auditory dysfunction (hearing loss pure tone average ≥20 dB HL and tinnitus), adjusting for key confounders including noise exposure. Secondarily, the association between specific medical conditions and auditory dysfunction was examined. All variables were self-reported.

Compared to Veterans reporting no medical conditions, Veterans reporting two or more had increased odds on low-frequency hearing loss and on tinnitus but not on high or extended-high frequency hearing loss. Furthermore, specific conditions sleep disorder and arthritis were associated with auditory dysfunction.

This suggests medical conditions may play a role in Veterans' hearing health. We performed a meta-analysis to evaluate the association between serum UA and post-stroke cognitive impairment (PSCI) in patients with acute ischemic stroke (AIS). Relevant observational studies were identified by search of electronic databases including PubMed, Embase, and Web of Science. A randomized-effect model incorporating the possible between-study heterogeneity was used to pool the results. Overall, eleven studies with 4246 patients of AIS were included, 2073 (48.8%) of them had PSCI. Pooled results showed that patients with PSCI had significantly higher level of serum UA as compared to those without PSCI (mean difference 35.70 μmol/l, 95% confidence interval (CI) 8.36 to 63.01, p=0.01; I2=95%). Subgroup analysis showed significant higher level of serum UA in patients with PSCI evaluated during follow-up of 3 months to 3 years, but not for those evaluated during hospitalization (p for subgroup difference=0.01).
