The value of O-(2-[18F]fluoroethyl)-L-tyrosine (FET)-positron emission tomography (PET)-radiomics in the outcome assessment of patients with recurrent glioblastoma (rGBM) has not been evaluated until now. The aim of this study was to evaluate whether a prognostic model based on FET-PET radiomics features (RF) is feasible and can identify rGBM patients that would most benefit from re-irradiation.
We prospectively recruited rGBM patients who underwent FET-PET before re-irradiation (GLIAA-Pilot trial, DRKS00000633). Tumor volume was delineated using a semi-automatic method with a threshold of 1.8 times the standardized-uptake-value of the background. 135 FET-RF (histogram parameters, shape and texture features) were extracted. The analysis involved the characterization of tumor and non-tumor tissue with FET-RF and the evaluation of the prognostic value of FET-RF for time-to-progression (TTP), overall survival (OS) and recurrence location (RL).

Coronavirus Disease-19 (COVID-19) has rapidly become a pandemic emergency, distressing health systems in each affected country. Preparation strategies for managing this pandemic have been keys to face the COVID-19 surge all over the world and all levels of care.
During the epidemic, the Italian society of pediatric emergency-urgency (SIMEUP) promoted a national survey aiming to evaluate preparedness and response of pediatric emergency departments (PED) critical in ensuring optimal management of COVID-19 cases.
Our results suggest that Italian PED have promptly set a proactive approach to the present emergency. 98.9% of the hospitals have defined special pathways and assistive protocols concerning the management of pediatric COVID-19 cases. The highest percentage of application of the measures for preventive and protective for COVID-19 concerned the use of personal protective equipments.

Molecular genetic testing for the 11p15-associated imprinting disorder Beckwith-Wiedemann syndrome (BWS) is challenging because of the molecular heterogeneity and complexity of the affected imprinted regions. An integrated molecular approach to analyze the epigenetic-genetic alterations is required for accurate diagnosis of BWS.
We reported a Chinese case with BWS detected by SNP array analysis and methylation-specific multiplex ligation-dependent probe amplification (MS-MLPA). The genetic analysis showed a de novo duplication of 24Mb at 11p15.5p14.3 is much longer than ever reported. MS-MLPA showed copy number changes with a peak height ratio value of 1.5 (three copies) at 11p15. The duplication of paternal origin with increase of methylation index of 0.68 at H19 and decreased methylation index of 0.37 at KCNQ1OT1.
Combined chromosome microarray analysis and methylation profiling provided reliable diagnosis for this paternally derived duplication of BWS. The phenotype associated with 11p15 duplications depends on the size, genetic content, parental inheritance and imprinting status. Identification of these rare duplications is crucial for genetic counselling.

Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) is an unprecedented disaster for people around the world. Many studies have shown that traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) are effective in treating COVID-19. However, it is difficult to find the most effective combination herbal pair among numerous herbs, as well as identifying its potential mechanisms. Herbal pair is the main form of a combination of TCM herbs, which is widely used for the treatment of diseases. It can also help us to better understand the compatibility of TCM prescriptions, thus improving the curative effects. The purpose of this article is to explore the compatibility of TCM prescriptions and identify the most important herbal pair for the treatment of COVID-19, and then analyze the active components and potential mechanisms of this herbal pair.
We first systematically sorted the TCM prescriptions recommended by the leading experts for treating COVID-19, and the specific herbs contained in these prescriptions across different stages of the disease.
