However, reports of submicroscopic deletions flanking the breakpoints of t(3;5)(q25;q35) are rare and the clinical significance of submicroscopic deletions in t(3;5) has not been explicitly identified.

We present a 47-year-old man with acute myeloid leukemia. G-banding analysis identified t(3;5)(q25;q35).

Array CGH-based detection initially confirmed only the deletion of chromosome 3. Further characterization using fluorescence in situ hybridization identified a cryptic submicroscopic deletion including 5' MLF1-3' NPM1 flanking the breakpoint on the derivative chromosome 3.

The patient started "7+3" induction chemotherapy with cytosine arabinoside and daunorubicin, and subsequently received 2 cycles of high-dose intermittent acronym of cytosine arabinoside or cytarabine.

The patient did not undergo complete remission and died from an infection due to neutropenia.

The prognosis of patients with aggressive relapsed or refractory (R/R) non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) remains poor. Both immunomodulatory drugs and histone deacetylase inhibitors have demonstrated activity against R/R NHL; yet, the combination of these 2 targeted therapies has rarely been explored.

Here, we report 3 cases. Case 1 was a 68-year-old woman who presented to our hospital with dyspnea. Case 2 was a 75-year-old man with massive upper gastrointestinal bleeding. Case 3 was a 62-year-old woman with cough, dyspnea, and lymphadenopathy.

The biopsy results revealed diffuse large B cell lymphoma (DLBCL), DLBCL, and angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma, for Case 1, 2, and 3 respectively.

All 3 patients experienced relapse after first-line therapy and multiple lines of salvage therapy. Finally, they all received lenalidomide combined with chidamide.

All 3 patients achieved complete and durable remission. Case 1 relapsed again after 3 months, while the other 2 cases remained in complete remission.

To our knowledge, this is the first report of lenalidomide combined with chidamide for the treatment of R/R NHL. Our findings warrant further evaluation of this novel chemo-free therapy in future prospective clinical trials.

Nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) is one of the most common malignancies in Southern China. Although combined chemotherapy with radiotherapy has been widely used in treating locally advanced lesions, relapse and metastases remain the primary cause of treatment failure, and are associated with an extremely poor prognosis. Therefore, more efficient and milder therapies are needed.

Herein, we report a patient with advanced NPC with intracranial metastases who showed progression during conventional treatment.

Nonkeratinizing undifferentiated nasopharyngeal carcinoma (stage IV).

After the completion of initial chemoradiotherapy and targeted therapy, metastases to brain occurred during follow-up. Ex vivo-cultured allogeneic NK cell infusion was offered.

Although the intracranial metastases did not decrease 10 months after the NK cell treatment, they decreased significantly at 31 months after the treatment and partially disappeared. The tumor response indicated partial response. Furthermore, all of the intracranial metastases continued to decrease at about 42 months after treatment.

The brain metastases of NPC are rare with poor prognosis. Radiotherapy in NPC can disrupt the blood-brain barrier, which may contribute to the metastases of brain. This case report will provide rationale for NK cell infusion following regular chemoradiotherapy.

Hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) is the most effective treatment for the majority of patients who have malignant haemolytic disease. Although the success rate of HSCT has increased, the increasing number of cases suffering from secondary solid malignancies after HSCT has attracted more interest recently.

A 16-year-old female patient from China presented with a crusty and painful lesion on the left buccal mucosa with a history of chronic graft-versus-host disease following allogeneic HSCT for acute myeloid leukaemia.

An incisional biopsy of the lesion showed stratified squamous epithelium mucosa with severe dysplasia (carcinoma in situ). Subsequently, a wide local excision was performed and histological examination revealed early infiltrating squamous epithelial mucosa (carcinoma in situ).

She was being treated in the oral and maxillofacial surgery clinic with an incisional biopsy of the left buccal mucosa. She also received a wide local excision.

Follow-up for 4 years showed no recurrence.

This case helps raise awareness of the diagnosis of oral symptoms in young patients after HSCT. Due to the increasing application of HSCT, raising awareness in oral and dental physicians may be required to improve long-term clinical outcome of patients who underwent HSCT.

Currently, the 5-year survival rate remains poor for patients with metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC), and the purpose of therapy is to prolong survival while maintaining the quality of life. Trifluridine/tipiracil, an oral drug combining trifluorothymidine and a thymidine phosphorylase inhibitor, is indicated as salvage therapy for mCRC patients who have progressed after all available regimens. Combination of local treatments with systemic therapy such as trifluridine/tipiracil represents an apt management strategy for mCRC patients.

A 72-year-old man diagnosed with stage IV rectal adenocarcinoma (KRAS mutation) with peritoneal carcinomatosis and liver metastases developed resistance to 2 lines of treatment (bevacizumab/irinotecan/S-1 and bevacizumab/oxaliplatin/HDFL [high-dose 24-hour infusion of 5-fluorouracil and leucovorin regimen]) within 5 months.

Systemic treatment of trifluridine/tipiracil has been given for approximately 15 months in addition to radiotherapy, Yttrium-90 radioembolization, and trans-arterial chemoembolization for peritoneal and liver metastases.

After 15 months, the patient was still taking trifluridine/tipiracil for disease control with a good quality of life.

Trifluridine/tipiracil plus other appropriate local therapy may significantly prolong patients survival with a satisfactory quality of life for patients with refractory mCRC. The favorable safety profile of trifluridine/tipiracil renders it a suitable option to be combined with other local therapies for metastatic lesions.

Structural markers and measurements were further performed with a 3D model of the total TMJ, including the width, thickness and angle of zygomatic arch, the width and height of articular fossa, as well as the area, width, thickness and angle of mandible in the fixation region of the TMJ prosthesis. All the measured indicators values were compared between bilateral sides and gender groups.There was no statistical difference in the measured indicators between the left side and the right side (P > .05). However, certain parameters, including S, L5, L7, P4, and P5, were significantly different among males and females (P  less then  .05).In this study, 3D CT image was used to obtain the measurement data of TMJ, which provided data support for the clinical application of TMJ prosthesis in Chinese population.
To analyze the sagittal positions of the mandibular prominence and maxillary central incisors in adult Chinese Han men to establish their aesthetic profile characteristics.

Seventy-four Chinese Han men aged 18 to 40 years underwent cone beam computed tomography for detecting the distances between Glabella and Subnasale, Subnasale and Menthon of soft tissue, Condyle and Gonion, Pogonion and Pogonion's Anterior Limit Line, Facial Axis point of maxillary central incisor and the Goal Anterior Limit Line as well as the angle of the Occlusal Plane. Dolphin Imaging and Photoshop software packages were used to generate silhouette profiles. Thirteen orthodontists assessed the silhouette profiles and assigned visual analog scale scores. Scores >70 were assigned to the aesthetic (group 1), scores of 60to 70 to the general (group 2), scores of 50 to 60 to the acceptable (group 3), and scores of <50 to the unaesthetic profile (group 4).

A total of 15 men were assigned to group 1, 35 to group 2, 14 to group 3, and 10 to group 4. There were no significant differences in the variables examined between groups 1, 2, and 3, but comparing group 1 with group 4, Pogonion and Pogonion's Anterior Limit Line (1.16 ± 2.61 mm vs -1.44 ± 2.92 mm, P = .046) and Facial Axis-Goal Anterior Limit Line (-0.61 ± 2.54 mm vs 1.70 ± 2.62 mm, P = .038) there were significant differences.

Compared with the unaesthetic profile group, the sagittal positions of the maxillary central incisors were slightly posterior, and the chin was slightly anterior in adult Chinese Han men with an aesthetic profile.
