The application of calcium phosphate (CaP)-based bone substitutes plays an important role in periodontal regeneration, implant dentistry and alveolar bone reconstruction. The incorporation of strontium (Sr) into CaP-based bone substitutes appears to improve their biological properties, but the reported in vivo bone repair performance is inconsistent among studies. Herein, we conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis to investigate the in vivo performance of Sr-doped materials.

We searched PubMed, EMBASE (via OVIDSP), and reference lists to identify relevant animal studies. The search, study selection, and data extraction were performed independently by two investigators. Meta-analyses and sub-group analyses were conducted using Revman version 5.4.1. The heterogeneity between studies were assessed by I
. Publication bias was investigated through a funnel plot.

Thirty-five studies were finally enrolled, of which 16 articles that reported on new bone formation (NBF) were included in the meta-analysis, covering 31 comparisons and 445 defects. The overall effect for NBF was 2.25 (95% CI 1.61-2.90, p < 0.00001, I
 = 80%). Eight comparisons from 6 studies reported the outcomes of bone volume/tissue volume (BV/TV), with an overall effect of 1.42 (95% CI 0.65-2.18, p = 0.0003, I
 = 75%). Fourteen comparisons reported on the material remaining (RM), with the overall effect being -2.26 (95% CI - 4.02 to - 0.50, p = 0.0009, I
 = 86%).

Our study revealed that Sr-doped calcium phosphate bone substitutes improved in vivo performance of bone repair. However, more studies are also recommended to further verify this conclusion.

Excessive scar tissues around the shoulder are the results of shoulder pathologies that lead to pain and disability. The Shoulder pain and disability index (SPADI) is used to measure the level of pain and disability in patients with shoulder pathology. SPADI is translated into Urdu and its validity and reliability are measured on patients with adhesive capsulitis.

The study was aimed to translate the SPADI in Urdu and to evaluate its reliability and validity in patients with shoulder adhesive capsulitis.

Translation of SPADI in Urdu was conducted by applying the standardized process. Two forward translations in Urdu were made T1 and T2 by bilingual translators. Urdu version of SPADI was drafted after experts' opinion. Two Backward English translations of Urdu SPADI were made BT1 and BT2 and the back translation was finalized by the consensus of all experts. After this process of reviewing by the professional experts, 3rd version of Urdu SPADI was drafted. The Final version was drafted after its applicatest reliability.
The negative health consequences of truck driving are well documented. However, despite the distinct occupational challenges between long- and short-haul driving, limited research has been conducted on how the health profile of these drivers differ. The aims of this study were to characterise the physical and mental health of Australian truck drivers overall, and to identify any differences in factors influencing the health profile of long-haul compared to short-haul drivers.

In this cross-sectional study, 1390 Australian truck drivers completed an online survey between August 2019 and May 2020. Questions included validated measures of psychological distress, general health, work ability and health-related quality-of-life. Participants driving 500 km or more per day were categorised as long-haul and those driving less than 500 km as short-haul.

The majority of survey respondents were classified as either overweight (25.2%) or obese (54.3%). Three in ten reported three or more chronic health conditions (h problems. Strategies focused on improving diet, exercise and preventing chronic conditions and psychological distress, that can also be implemented within the unique occupational environment of trucking are needed to help improve driver health. Further research is needed to explore risk and protective factors that specifically affect health in both short-haul and long-haul drivers.

Impaired cognitive reappraisal, associated with the social functioning and well-being of patients affected by mood or anxiety disorders, is characterized by distinct neural activation patterns across clinical populations. To date, studies dedicated to identifying common and distinct neural activation profiles need to be clarified. T-705 order The aim of the present study was to investigate transdiagnostic differences and commonalities in brain activation patterns during reappraisal-mediated downregulation of emotions.

Cognitive reappraisal of negative images was contrasted with maintaining emotions during a control viewing condition. Brain activation in 35 patients with major depressive disorder (MDD), 20 patients with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and 34 healthy controls (HC) during cognitive reappraisal was compared. Moreover, the neural circuitry of emotion regulation in these clinical populations was examined using seed-to-voxel and voxel-to-voxel functional connectivity analyses.

Whole-brain fMRI analdeficit of depression and anxiety symptomatology reflected by reduced activation in right IFG during cognitive reappraisal as well as diagnosis specific effects in patients with PTSD based on seed-to-voxel and voxel-to-voxel connectivity showing an overactive and hyperconnected salience network. Findings highlight the role of transdiagnostic research to identify disorder specific brain patterns as well as patterns common across disorders.
To compare the efficacy and safety of subthreshold micropulse (STMP) laser photocoagulation and half-dose photodynamic therapy (PDT) in the treatment of acute central serous chorioretinopathy (CSC).

A total of 39 acute CSC patients were included. 18 patients were treated with STMP laser and 21 patients were treated with half-dose PDT. The main outcome measures were best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA) according to Early Treatment Diabetic Retinopathy Study (ETDRS) chart, the proportion of eyes with complete resolution of subretinal fluid, the number of treatments, and the retinal sensitivity by microperimetry during the 12-month study period.

The mean number of treatments during the 12-month period was 1.6 in STMP group and 1.3 in half-dose PDT group, respectively (P = 0.174). The proportion of eyes with complete resolution of subretinal fluid was 83.3% in STMP group compared with 90.5% in half-dose PDT group at 12-month (P = 0.647). The mean BCVA at 12-month after treatment was 75.28 ± 12.58 for STMP group and 76.62 ± 11.57 for half-dose PDT group, respectively (P = 0.731). No statistically significant difference was found in the mean retinal sensitivity between the two groups during the 12months follow-up (P = 0.701 at 3months; P = 0.725 at 6months; P = 0.695 at 12months).

Subthreshold micropulse Laser Photocoagulation is as effective as half-dose PDT for acute CSC, while minimizing the damage effect on retinal.

Meniscal morphological changes are associated with knee OA. However, the correlation of meniscal height and OA-related knee structural abnormalities is still not well understood. The purpose of present study is to investigate whether and how meniscal anterior and posterior horn heights are associated with structural abnormalities in knees with symptomatic OA.

Our sample consisted of 106 patients (61 female, aged 40-73 years) with symptomatic knee OA. Kellgren-Lawrence system was used for radiographic evaluation. On sagittal sequence, medial meniscal posterior horn height (MPH), lateral meniscal anterior horn height (LAH) and lateral meniscal posterior horn height (LPH) were measured on the middle slice through the medial/lateral compartment. Knee structural abnormalities were assessed using the modified whole-organ magnetic resonance imaging score (WORMS). Associations between meniscal anterior and posterior horn heights and knee structural abnormalities were assessed using linear regression analysis.

Hificantly associated with patellofemoral structural abnormalities. The present study provided novel information for understanding the role of meniscal morphological changes in knee OA, which would be helpful in identifying and evaluating knees with or at risks for OA.
Changes of LAH and LPH were inversely associated with the severity of lateral compartmental cartilage lesions and BMEPs, while higher MPH was only significantly correlated with more severe medial meniscal anterior horn lesions. Besides, MPH and LAH were also significantly associated with patellofemoral structural abnormalities. The present study provided novel information for understanding the role of meniscal morphological changes in knee OA, which would be helpful in identifying and evaluating knees with or at risks for OA.
To study the impact of unintended initial dissection of the posterior plane (UIDPP) on operation time and surgical outcomes during small incision lenticule extraction (SMILE) surgery.

This was a retrospective study. Based on the SMILE procedure video, the operating eyes were assigned to the normal and UIDPP groups according to the presence or absence of UIDPP signals during surgery. The UIDPP group was further separated into early and late detection based on whether the complete dissection of the lenticule posterior plane or not. Patient's demographic data, preoperative evaluation data, operation time and postoperative outcomes were collected.

Sixty-six patients (66 eyes) who underwent SMILE were included, with 24 eyes with UIDPP (13 in the early detection group and 11 in the late group). The optical zone was smaller (median 6.5 vs. 6.6, P = 0.007), and the operation time was longer (median, 189.5 vs. 91.0s, P < 0.001) in the UIDPP group compared with normal group. There were significant differences in operation time between the late detection group and early detection group (median, 489.0 vs. 139.0s, P < 0.05) and between the late detection group and normal group (median489.0 vs. 91.0s, P < 0.05), while the optical zone was different only between the late detection and normal groups (median, 6.5 vs. 6.6, P < 0.05). At the one-year follow-up, UDVA was better than or equal to 20/20 in 87.5% of eyes, and 75% of eyes were within ± 0.5 D of the intended refractive target. One eye lost one Snellen line.

The occurrence of UIDPP will significantly prolong the operation time, but not affect the recovery of long-term visual acuity after surgery. Detecting UIDPP earlier could help shorten the operation time.
