We investigated simple and unrestricted brush-paintable black electrodes for poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF)-based artistic flexible piezoelectric devices. this website The conductive black ink for paintable electrodes was synthesized by mixing poly(3,4-ethylene dioxythiophene)poly(styrene sulfonate) (PEDOTPSS) and typical black ink and optimizing the mixing ratio. At an optimal mixing ratio, the brush-paintable black electrodes showed a sheet resistance of 151 Ω/sq and high coatability for flexible piezoelectric devices. Noticeably, higher black ink ratios increased adhesion forces, while diminished the shear flow of the conductive black ink. In addition, the optimized conductive black electrode exhibited an outstanding level of mechanical flexibility due to good adhesion between the black electrode and the PVDF substrate. During the repeated inner/outer bending fatigue tests with high strain, no resistance change confirmed the outstanding flexibility of the brush-paintable conductive electrode. As a promising application of the brush-paintable optimized black electrode, we suggested highly flexible piezoelectric devices that can be used. A PVDF-based piezoelectric speaker and a generator with the brush-paintable black electrode showed acoustic and output signal values approximate to those of metallic electrodes fabricated by vacuum-based high-cost thermal evaporators. Our experiment demonstrated a cost-efficient and simple process for fabricating brush-paintable electrodes, applicable to the flexible PVDF-based piezoelectric devices.Functionalization and morphological construction can promote lithium-ion storage performance of organic polymers. In this contribution, exceptional lithium ion storage performance is empowered to porous polyacrylonitrile (PAN) nanofibers via the integration of template-assisted electrospinning technology and thermal treatment. It is found that the atmosphere adopted during the annealing process controls the storage behaviors of Li+. Impressively, the samples annealed in air present competitive capacities, rate capabilities, and a stable lifetime, compared with other counterparts (PAN powders and PAN fibers treated in N2). Such enhancement in performance is attributed to the enriched oxygen-based functionalities (mainly C=O group) which guarantee a high specific capacity and the porous structure which facilitates the transportation of Li+ and electrons to improve the rate capability. It is envisioned that such morphology control and surface functionalization open up new horizons in the development of organic electrode materials with enhanced lithium-ion storage performances.Although nanocarbon-based nanofillers have been widely used to improve the energy-storing and sensing functions of porous materials, the comparison of the effects of different nanocarbon-based fillers on the capacitive and flexible sensing properties of nanocarbon-based porous sponge composite supercapacitor electrodes by combining a carbon nanotube, graphene, and graphene oxide with porous sponge is incomplete. The specific capacitance of carbon nanotube-based electrodes is 20.1 F/g. The specific capacitance of graphene-based electrodes is 26.7 F/g. The specific capacitance of graphene oxide-based electrodes is 78.1 F/g, and the capacity retention rate is 92.99% under 20 000 charge-discharge cycles. Under a bending load of 180°, the capacitance retention rate of graphene oxide sponge composite electrodes is 67.46%, which indicates that the prepared electrodes of supercapacitor have the advantages of high capacitance and good flexibility at the same time. To demonstrate their performance, an array of three graphene oxide supercapacitors in series was constructed, which could light up a red light-emitting diode (LED). The tensile strength of carbon nanotube sponge composite electrodes is 0.267 MPa, and the tensile linearity is 0.0169. The experimental results show that graphene oxide-based sponge composite supercapacitor electrodes have the best capacitance performance and carbon nanotube sponge composites have the most potential as a flexible sensor.Fibers are extensively used as a fluid additive in the oil and gas industry to improve hole-cleaning performance, control fluid filtration loss, and enhance hydraulic fracturing effectiveness. Generally, a small amount of fiber is dispersed in the base fluid to achieve the desired results without increasing the viscosity of the base fluid. Nevertheless, sustaining a uniform fiber dispersion can be challenging under wellbore conditions, which is essential for fibers' functionality. Consequently, a better understanding of fiber suspension or stability in base fluids is necessary for their efficient utilization in drilling and completion operations. In this study, response surface methodology (RSM) and box-behnken design (BBD) are used to investigate the stability of fiber in polymeric base suspensions, including carboxy methyl cellulose (CMC), polyacrylamide (PAM), and xanthan gum (XG). The BBD of three factors was selected to observe the influence of polymer concentration, fiber concentration, and temperature y. Long fibers have a better tendency to entangle and form a structured network, which in turn hinders the buoyancy that induces individual fiber migration. On the contrary, short fibers do not form a network, allowing them to easily migrate to the surface and agglomerate at the top layer (unstable region). Optimization results revealed that suspensions with viscosities above 50 mPa·s are sufficient to maintain the stability of the suspensions at ambient (25 °C) and elevated (80 °C) temperatures. The estimation of thermodynamic equilibrium conditions of methane hydrates in the presence of crude oil based on experiments is shown in this research work. This pipeline system replicated the gas-dominant multiphase transmission pipelines at deep-sea regions. An experimental study is done by the usage of a Raman gas hydrate reactor. The pressure was maintained in the range of 3-8 MPa for the experimental study. The water cut is kept constant throughout the system as 30%. Initially, the experimental setup is calibrated by using carbon dioxide gas. Then, methane hydrates are formed with and without crude oil. The methane hydrates that are created without the presence of crude oil are validated with simulation that is performed using CSMGEM, PVTSIM software, and literature data. Then, the thermodynamic conditions are found for the methane hydrate formation in the presence of crude oil with an addition of a 15% oil cut to the system. From these results, the phase behavior of a multiphase system is evaluated. The formation of methane hydrates in the system was found to be affected by the presence of an additional oil phase that exhibited an inhibition behavior.
