In this systematic review, we summarize the key presenting features of recent cases of EM-like eruptions associated with ACD, as well as diagnostic findings, responsible allergens, treatments, and outcomes. We propose that, whenever possible, these cases should be classified into 2 distinct categories (1) EM-like ACD and (2) EM after ACD (ACD-induced EM). Because the clinical courses, potential complications, and treatment plans differ between the two, a critical need exists for further characterization and distinguishment of EM-like ACD and ACD-induced EM.
Assess whether an employee outreach program improved management of chronic kidney disease (CKD).
Participants with suspected CKD (eGFR <60 mL/min/1.73 m2) identified in employee health assessments in 2017 and 2018 were contacted by phone and offered physician consultation. Subsequent nephrologist visits at 11 months of follow up were compared between those who were (outreach group) and were not (control group) successfully contacted.
Most CKD risk factors at baseline were similar in outreach and control groups. this website At the end of the follow-up, outreach participants had more than 2-fold greater incidence of visiting a nephrologist compared with controls (HR = 2.3; 95% CI 1.2-4.2, P = 0.01), after adjusting for potential confounders.
Employee outreach program increased utilization of nephrologist care.

Early circulatory shock following traumatic brain injury (TBI) is a multifactorial process; however, the impact of brain injury biomarkers on the risk of shock has not been evaluated. We examined the association between neuronal injury biomarker levels and the development of circulatory shock following moderate-severe TBI.
In this retrospective cohort study, we examined adults with moderate-severe TBI (Glasgow Coma Scale score <13) enrolled in the TRACK-TBI study, an 18-center prospective TBI cohort study. The exposures were day-1 levels of neuronal injury biomarkers (glial fibrillary acidic protein, ubiquitin C-terminal hydrolase-L1 [UCH-L1], S100 calcium-binding protein B [S100B], neuron-specific enolase), and of an inflammatory biomarker (high-sensitivity C-reactive protein). The primary outcome was the development of circulatory shock, defined as cardiovascular Sequential Organ Failure Assessment Score ≥2 within 72 hours of admission. Association between day-1 biomarker levels and the development oderstanding and possibly early identification of patients at risk for early circulatory shock following moderate-severe TBI.
Preceptors are integral in nurse practitioner (NP) education. A shortage of willing preceptors limits graduations from NP programs. However, little is known about why NPs decide not to precept.
To identify the factors significantly associated with NPs' status as currently, previously, or never precepting, using the Integrated Behavioral Model as the conceptual framework.
This was a cross-sectional, comparative, descriptive study of NPs using survey methodology. Our survey was based on published surveys with items added and adapted to reflect our framework. Subscales included personal factors, primary determinants of intent to precept, and external factors. We mailed recruitment postcards, with an online survey link, to all NPs in Arkansas. Data were analyzed using bivariate and stepwise multinomial logistic regression for each subscale.
We obtained 261 responses. Participants who had previously and/or never precepted differed from current preceptors on multiple variables on bivariate analysis. Predictive personal factors included experience and hours worked per week. Predictive primary determinants included knowing NPs that precept, support for precepting, recognition of preceptors, and clinical expertise. Predictive external factors included space, liability, having a "gatekeeper," NP program, importance of precepting, and number of requests.
Different factors predict NPs who currently, previously, and have never precepted. However, frequency of requests predicted both nonprecepting groups. Various supports in the clinical setting and program factors predicted one or other nonprecepting group.
Strategies should be developed to ensure all potential preceptors are recruited, increase support for precepting, and ensure educational programs meet preceptors' needs.

Ehlers-Danlos syndromes (EDS) are genetic connective tissue disorders affecting multiple organ systems that frequently result in connective tissue hyperlaxity and early osteoarthritis. Short- and long-term outcomes after total hip arthroplasty in this cohort remain poorly characterized.
Data were abstracted from the 2010 to 2018 PearlDiver Mariner administrative database. Patients with EDS undergoing total hip arthroplasty for osteoarthritis were identified and matched 110 to patients without a diagnosis of EDS. Ninety-day incidence of postoperative complications and hospital readmission were identified and compared. Odds of 90-day adverse events were compared using multivariate logistic regression. Finally, 5-year implant survival was compared using a log-rank test. Significance was set at P < 0.005 after Bonferroni correction.
Matching was done for 354 patients with EDS to 3,518 patients without EDS. Patients with EDS had markedly higher rates of periprosthetic dislocation within 90 days of surgery (4.2% dislocation rate in EDS vs. 1.7% in matched control subjects, P = 0.001). On multivariate analysis, patients with EDS continued to have increased odds of dislocation in the 90-day postoperative period (Odds Ratio=2.64, P = 0.001), whereas the rates of the other studied adverse events were not markedly different between groups. At 5 years, 92.7% of patients with EDS and 96.1% of the matched control subjects remained unrevised (significant log rank difference, P = 0.004).
Compared with patients without EDS, patients with EDS were found to have a higher rate of perioperative dislocation and markedly lower implant survival at 5 years. These findings are consistent with the increased connective tissue laxity associated with EDS.

Abnormal circular RNA levels have been found to lead to changes of related gene expression, thereby mediating the occurrence and development of a series of diseases, including endometriosis. The role of circRNA in endometriosis is still in its infancy. This study will explore the role of circRNA hsa_circ_0063526 with microRNA-141-5p in the development of endometriosis. The expression levels of genes were detected by RT-qPCR. Transwell, wound-healing, and EdU assays were performed on the End1 / E6E7 cell line from the endometriosis patient. PCR and immunohistochemistry were used to detect the expression of candidate regulatory genes in ectopic lesions in an endometriosis mice model. The expression level of hsa_circ_0063526 in ectopic tissue of endometriosis patients was significantly higher than control (P less then 0.05), The expression levels of hsa_circ_0063526 and miRNA-141-5P in ectopic tissue of endometriosis were negatively correlated (P less then 0.05). Knockdown of hsa_circ_0063526 inhibited the invasion, migration, and proliferation ability of End1 / E6E7 cell; the inhibition of microRNA-141-5p rescued this inhibition (P less then 0.05). In vivo experiments showed that miR-141-5p and si-hsa_circ_0063526 treatment reduced lesion size and regulated endometriosis genes. Our data suggest that hsa_circ_0063526 and miR-141-5p are possible biomarkers and therapeutic targets for endometriosis.
Loneliness and social isolation can have severe effects on human health and well-being. Partial solutions to combat these circumstances in demographically aging societies have been sought from the field of information and communication technology (ICT).
This systematic literature review investigates the research conducted on older adults' loneliness and social isolation, and physical ICTs, namely robots, wearables, and smart homes, in the era of ambient assisted living (AAL). The aim is to gain insight into how technology can help overcome loneliness and social isolation other than by fostering social communication with people and what the main open-ended challenges according to the reviewed studies are.
The data were collected from 7 bibliographic databases. A preliminary search resulted in 1271 entries that were screened based on predefined inclusion criteria. The characteristics of the selected studies were coded, and the results were summarized to answer our research questions.
The final data set rious social restrictions have been introduced all over the world, and the amount of research literature in this regard has increased recently.
The decline in performance of older people includes balance function, physical function, and fear of falling and depression. General cognitive function decline is described in terms of processing speed, working memory, attention, and executive functioning, and video game interventions may be effective.
This study evaluates the effect of video game interventions on performance and cognitive function in older participants in terms of 6 indicators balance function, executive function, general cognitive function, physical function, processing speed, and fear of falling and depression.
Electronic databases were searched for studies from inception to June 30, 2020. Randomized controlled trials and case-controlled trials comparing video game interventions versus nonvideo game control in terms of performance and cognitive function outcomes were incorporated into a Bayesian network meta-analysis. All data were continuous variables.
In total, 47 studies (3244 participants) were included. In pairwise meta-analysBased on the available evidence, we recommend video game interventions for the elderly.

The importance of effective communication during public health emergencies has been highlighted by the World Health Organization, and it has published guidelines for effective communication in such situations. With video being a popular medium, video communication has been a growing area of study over the past decades and is increasingly used across different sectors and disciplines, including health. Health-related video communication gained momentum during the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, and video was among the most frequently used modes of communication worldwide. However, although much research has been done regarding different characteristics of video content (the message) and its delivery (the messenger), there is a lack of knowledge about the role played by the characteristics of the recipients for the creation of effective communication.
The aim of this review is to identify how health video communication outcomes are shaped by recipient characteristics, as such characteristics might affect the effectiveness of communication.
