The P2 S5 -modified Li anodes sustain ultralow polarization in symmetric cell for >4000 h, ≈8× longer than bare Li anodes. The capacity retention is ≈70% higher when P2 S5 -modified Li anodes are paired with a practical LiFePO4 cathode (≈3.2 mAh cm-2 ) after 340 cycles. Brush coating opens a promising avenue to fabricate large-scale artificial solid-electrolyte-interphase directly on metals without the need for organic solvent.
Pain experiences in childhood are very likely to be reflected in adulthood. The early evaluation of the concept of pain in children may eventually lead to. better patient outcomes in the future. Therefore, we aimed to culturally and developmentally adapt the Concept of Pain Inventory for Children (COPI) for Turkish children.
This descriptive, correlational study was conducted with 239 post-operative children aged 8-12 years between June and December 2021. The research adhered to COSMIN guidelines. selleck The data were collected using a descriptive information form and the COPI. Factor analysis, Cronbach's alpha, and item-total score analysis were used for the data analysis.
The resulting unidimensional scale consists of 12 items in Turkish. The scale explained 65% of the total variance. The exploratory factor analysis showed that the factor loadings of items ranged from 0.64 to 0.91. The confirmatory factor analysis showed that the factor loadings of items ranged from 0.66 to 0.92. Goodness of fit indexes were found to be as follows Normed Fit Index >0.90; Incremental Fit Index >0.90; Comparative Fit Index >0.90; and the Root Mean Square Error of Approximation <0.08. The total Cronbach's alpha coefficient of the scale was 0.78 (reliable).
The 12-item Turkish translation of the COPI was deemed valid and reliable in 8-12-year-old children in a post-operative setting.

To characterize opioid prescribing over a 5-year period to adolescents upon discharge from one urban pediatric medical center.
A retrospective cross-sectional analysis of 4354 adolescents discharged with a pain medication after an admission of ≤5 days between January 2015 and December 2019 was performed. Two outcome groups, based on the analgesics prescribed at discharge, were compared those discharged with a prescription for a non-opioid only and those discharged with an opioid prescription. The association between year of discharge and receipt of opioid, while adjusting for relevant demographic and clinical characteristics, was also explored.
Approximately 64% of the sample was discharged with an opioid prescription. Of those, the median daily dosage was 45.0 morphine milligram equivalents (MME) [IQR 32.4, 45.0]. Year of discharge was associated with decreased odds of receiving an opioid when adjusting for age, race, sex, insurance, pain scores, opioid exposure during hospitalization, length of stay, and undergoing surgery. The odds of being discharged with an opioid decreased each year by 29% (Adjusted Odds Ratio [AOR] = 0.71, CI0.68-0.73). Concurrently, the proportion of patients discharged with nonopioid pain medication increased from 25% of adolescent patients in 2015 to 50% in 2019.
Overall, opioid prescribing to adolescents at time of discharge decreased over time in our sample.

A 62years old man was presented with haematuria for the last 2months. CT scan revealed bladder mass with a size of 2,5cm and underwent en-bloc resection of bladder mass. The histopathological result showed non-muscle-invasive bladder clear cell renal carcinoma. The patient had a history of left nephrectomy in 2017 and meningioma mass metastasectomy in 2020 with the same histopathological origin.

Recent research suggests that higher circulating anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) levels are associated with less frequent occurrence of (subclinical) cardiovascular disease (CVD) in women, but evidence in men is limited.
We investigated whether circulating AMH levels are associated with measures of subclinical CVD in middle-aged and older men.
Prospective cohort study with a median follow-up time of 8.7years. Serum AMH was measured at baseline. We assessed both cross-sectional and longitudinal associations using linear regression models adjusted for confounders.

All outcomes were transformed using rank-based inverse normal transformation to meet the normality assumption.
Higher AMH levels were associated with lower CIMT at baseline (β=-0.04; 95%CI=0.07, -0.01), but not with the other measures of subclinical CVD at baseline. Longitudinal analyses suggested that higher baseline AMH levels were associated with lower mean plaque scores at follow-up (β=-0.03, 95%CI=-0.07, 0.00), but not with the other follow-up outcomes.
Our results suggest that AMH is associated with current CIMT and future carotid aortic plaque burden in men, implying that circulating AMH levels are potentially associated with local atherosclerosis rather than with total aortic stiffness.

In humans, these parasites cause diseases with a significant impact on public health, such as malaria, toxoplasmosis, Chagas disease, leishmaniasis and amebiasis. The ability of a parasite in establishing a successful infection depends on a series of intricate evolutionarily selected adaptations, which include the development of molecular and cellular strategies to evade the host immune system effector mechanisms. The complement system is one of the main effector mechanisms and the first humoral shield of hosts innate immunity against pathogens. For unicellular pathogens, such as protozoa, bacteria and fungi, the activation of the complement system may culminate in the elimination of the invader mainly via 1- the formation of a pore that depolarizes the plasma membrane of the parasite, causing cell lysis; 2- opsonization and killing by phagocytes; 3- increasing vascular permeability while also recruiting neutrophils to the site of activation. Numerous strategies to avoid complement activation have been reported for parasitic protozoa, such as 1- sequestration of complement system regulatory proteins produced by the host, 2- expression of complement system regulatory proteins, 3- proteolytic cleavage of different complement effector molecules, 4- formation of a physical glycolipid barrier that prevents deposition of complement molecules on the plasma membrane, and 5- removal, by endocytosis, of complement molecules bound to plasma membrane. In this review, we revisit the different strategies of blocking various stages of complement activation described for the main species of parasitic protozoa, present the most recent discoveries in the field and discuss new perspectives on yet neglected strategies and possible new evasion mechanisms.Ancestry inference is useful in many scientific fields, such as forensic genetics, medical genetics, and molecular archaeology. Various ancestry inferring methods have been released for major continental populations. However, few reports refer to sub-populations within the East Asian population using hundreds of ancestry informative SNPs (AISNPs). In this study, we developed a 308-AISNP panel (EASplex NGS DNA panel) using multiplex PCR and next generation sequencing (NGS). This panel included 56 SNPs relevant for the continent-level ancestry inference and 252 Japanese-, Korean-, and/or Han Chinese-specific AISNPs to address the ancestry inference of global populations and regional populations among Japanese (JPT), Korean minority (CHK), and Han Chinese (CHH). A total of 87 CHK and 59 CHH samples were used to check the performance of the EASplex NGS DNA panel. By analyzing 146 profiles of samples with JPT and CHH data from Beijing and South China in 1000 genomes project, the following results were obtained (1) the 146 tested samples were correctly assigned to the East Asian group; (2) the paired population assignment rate was 99.73% for JPT and CHH, 95% for JPT and CHK, and 90.11% for CHK and CHH; and (3) the whole population assignment was 92.14% for the JPT, CHK, and CHH data. Overall, the EASplex NGS DNA panel displayed informativeness for continental ancestry inference and regional ancestry inference among JPT, CHH, and CHK and has the potential for use in forensic and genetic population studies.
