y 6.5% of patients requested corrections of errors in their medical records at the national level. Those who reported higher engagement with their health, as proxied by portal visit frequency and entering data into the portal, were more likely to request corrections.Current classification systems for psychiatric disorders are primarly based on categorial typologies and describe these as distinct nosological entities. A dimensional perspective allows descriptions of a gradual transition between pathologies as well as between normality and pathologies of psychiatric symptoms. Using acoustic hallucinations as most common form of perception disturbances as example, psychiatric-psychopathological and theoretical pros and cons for a dimensional classification of psychiatric symptomatology are sketched in this article. Although doubts concerning the similarity of real perceptions and acoustic hallucinations which underlie such mental events are controversially discussed, many hints could be found for a continuum of hallucinatoric symptoms from the mentally healthy population up to the group of patients with schizophrenia. Studies which investigate the neurophysiological mechanisms of acoustic hallucinations such as hearing voices in healthy persons in comparison to those in patients with schizophrenia could contribute to further differentiation. Eine deutliche Verkürzung der durchschnittlichen Behandlungsdauer lie time, pilot data for the period from April 2016 to May 2021 are presented here. The concept described herein has proven to be feasible. Crenigacestat datasheet The collected data hint at a lower drop-out rate of patients treated according the shortened therapy concept compared to the average of all patients assigned to forensic treatment according to section 64 of the German penal code. Yet, there was no evidence for a significant shortening of hospital stay. The present work aims at making a first contribution to the discussion and further development of such treatment options. Possible disadvantages for patients who are found to be unsuitable, e. g. those with a decrease in therapeutic motivation, are discussed.
Late gadolinium enhancement (LGE) is a widely used cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technique to diagnose a broad range of ischemic and non-ischemic cardiomyopathies. Since its development and validation against histology already more than two decades ago, the clinical utility of LGE and its span of applications have increased considerably.

In this review we will present the basic concepts of LGE imaging and its diagnostic and prognostic value, elaborate on recent developments and emerging methods, and finally discuss future prospects.

Continuous developments in 3 D imaging methods, motion correction techniques, water/fat-separated imaging, dark-blood methods, and scar quantification improved the performance and further expanded the clinical utility of LGE imaging.

LGE imaging is the current noninvasive reference standard for the assessment of myocardial viability. Improvements in spatial resolution, scar-to-blood contrast, and water/fat-separated imaging further strengthened its position.

Patient centered radiology represents a crucial aspect for modern sustainable radiology. The definition of patient-centered consists of a focus on patients' individual values and wishes with a respectful integration in medical decisions. In this narrative review we try to give a practical introduction into this complex topic with the extension to a person-centered radiology, which additionally encompasses values and wishes of radiological and other medical colleagues.

Medline search between 2010 and 2021 using "patient-centered radiology" with additional subjective selection of articles for this narrative review.

Regarding patients' experiences the main literature focus were patients' fears of examinations (movement restrictions, uncertainty). Most patients would prefer a direct communication with the radiologist after the examination. Regarding interdisciplinary communication the radiological expertise and quality is highly appreciated; however, there was a general wish for more structured- or itemizedt communication with the radiologist.. · To gain a "value based" radiology we to focus on an optimized communication with patients and referring physicians..

Quality of life (QOL) in older children, adolescents, and adults with cerebral palsy (CP) is significantly impaired. Level of functioning is one of the probable determinants of impairment in QOL. However, such studies in young children with CP are scarce in the literature.

Parents of all consecutive children aged between 1 and 4 years with a confirmed diagnosis of CP completed the Infant Toddler Quality of Life (ITQOL) questionnaire. Total and individual subdomain scores of ITQOL were examined for association with the level of functioning measured by Gross Motor Function Classification System-Expanded & Revised (GMFCS E&R), Mini-Manual Ability Classification System (Mini-MACS), Communication Function Classification System (CFCS), and Eating and Drinking Ability Classification System (EDACS), with/without adjustment to probable confounding variables.

One hundred three children with CP (74 boys, mean age 2.6 ± 0.9 years, 49% lower and 39% middle socioeconomic status) were enrolled. All four scales (GMFCS, Mini-MACS, CFCS, and EDACS) describing levels of functioning had significant association with ITQOL total score (β= -0.19, -0.15, -0.11, -0.09, respectively), which persisted even after adjusting for confounding variables (
= 0.004, 0.01, 0.03, and 0.046, respectively). Among the confounding variables, uncontrolled seizures, significant vision impairment, lower socioeconomic status, type of CP, and institution of comprehensive rehabilitation measures for ≥6 months had a significant association with ITQOL score (
 = 0.03, 0.04, 0.02, 0.02, and 0.01, respectively).

Level of functioning as measured by GMFCS, Mini-MACS, EDACS, and CFCS is independent predictors of impairment in QOL in young children with CP.

The most severe phenotype-SMA type 1-is characterized by marked muscle weakness also affecting bulbar and respiratory function. Life expectancy of children with SMA type 1 is expected to be less than 2 years without ventilator support or disease-specific drug treatment. The aim of this study was to evaluate parents' perspectives on the process of decision-making regarding ventilator support in children with SMA type 1. Fourteen semi-structured interviews were performed with parents of children with SMA type 1 that decided either for or against ventilator support for their child. All children were diagnosed prior to the approval of SMA-specific drug treatment. Interviews were recorded and transcribed verbatim. Data analysis was performed using a qualitative content analysis approach according to Mayring. Parents experienced that they were not adequately informed about the disease and treatment options in first informed consent discussions. Especially regarding ventilator support, parents perceived that they were not offered ventilator support as an actual option for treatment. Regarding the decision of whether or not to offer ventilator support, parents reported that their attitude toward ventilator support and contact with other affected families or patient advocacy groups were more likely to influence the decision than the content of informed consent discussions with physicians. Our results underline the importance of an interdisciplinary team not only to provide parents with relevant information but also to consider the criteria of a patient-centered medicine. How concepts are coded in the brain is a core issue in cognitive neuroscience. Studies have focused on how individual concepts are processed, but the way in which conceptual representation changes to suit the context is unclear. We parametrically manipulated the association strength between words, presented in pairs one word at a time using a slow event-related fMRI design. We combined representational similarity analysis and computational linguistics to probe the neurocomputational content of these trials. Individual word meaning was maintained in supramarginal gyrus (associated with verbal short-term memory) when items were judged to be unrelated, but not when a linking context was retrieved. Context-dependent meaning was instead represented in left lateral prefrontal gyrus (associated with controlled retrieval), angular gyrus, and ventral temporal lobe (regions associated with integrative aspects of memory). Analyses of informational connectivity, examining the similarity of activation patterns across trials between sites, showed that control network regions had more similar multivariate responses across trials when association strength was weak, reflecting a common controlled retrieval state when the task required more unusual associations. These findings indicate that semantic control and representational sites amplify contextually relevant meanings in trials judged to be related.
