The Band Toto Asia
Toto was expanding production facilities overseas, and doing business in France and Germany, Indonesia, Korea and Taiwan, Thailand and the People's Republic of China. Toto saw North America as a growth market for Washlet bidet seats and toilets, in contrast to its "base" markets of Japan and China.
Dhaniram Toto documented Toto words so that the next generation could be able to read the words. However, many words were replaced with foreign words, such as dui, which is Bengali for verandah.
Origins
Established in 1917, Toto's beginnings mirrored Japan's growth. In the early years of its existence, the company produced products to meet the demand for modern and contemporary urban housing. To achieve this, it employed the country's first tunnel kiln to produce ceramics in continuous flow. It also pioneered the use of automation to control production, allowing for greater efficiency and consistency.
In the late 1980s, the company began expanding overseas to take advantage of sales and new markets. It launched the Cera Trading Company, importing and marketing other products of manufacturers to complement its own range of sanitary earthenware and plumbing fittings. This strategy helped to increase sales and expand the firm’s global market share.
In the 90s, Toto began focusing on research and development for water-related appliances. It also improved its distribution system to better meet the needs of its customers and boost profits. The company employed the same just-in-time approach to its supply chain management and sales program. This led to a higher level of customer satisfaction.
Toto continued to innovate toilet technology. Its latest toilet, for example, has a strong tornado flush that is more environmentally friendly than traditional toilets. The company uses recycled water for its manufacturing process, and has a green buying policy. In addition to toilets Toto manufactures bathtubs and faucets and hand dryers that are more energy efficient than typical models.
The first Toto museum opened in the year 2015. It features exhibits on Toto's most famous products and their evolution, the group companies (all of which are made from ceramics), the history of plumbing, and other products like bath units. In another gallery, visitors will find Toto products that are sold across the world. The museum has a bathroom with a WASHLET as well as other toilet innovations.
Before the formation of Toto the band, members of the group did session work for a variety of musicians. Boz Scaggs' album Silk Degrees featured keyboardist David Paich, guitarists Mike Porcaro & Steve Lukather, drummer Jeff Porcaro & Steve Lukather. They also performed on albums by Steely Dan, Seals and Crofts, and Sonny and Cher.
Discography
With a name as evocative as Asia you'd think that the group would be prog queens and kings however, it's actually a fairly straightforward rock group. The group began as a quartet, and they released two albums - 1979's self titled debut, and 1980's Armed to the Teeth. The group has a wide musical background, but their greatest success was in 1982 with Toto IV.
The album was a major blockbuster, however it did not come without its share of problems. The record companies placed Toto under pressure to deliver an album that was a success or they would drop them. Luckily for Toto they did and they did it with the help of the smash hit single "Africa."
Toto's musical mastery is the result of their prior experience. Before forming the group, the band members were session musicians for artists like Boz Scaggs. Steely Dan and Seals and Crofts. Their distinctive sound has become the standard of '80s music, influencing many contemporary artists.
The album begins with a hefty dose of hard rock with songs like Running Out of Time and Unknown Soldier showcasing the bands ability to write great AOR songs that slowly build their hooks into you. The album also contains jazzier, slower tracks like The Little Things and Chinatown. 토토사이트 추천 closes with Great Expectations, a song that combines folk with distorted AOR and should sound totally wrong, but works wonderfully well.
After Toto IV the band's fortunes started to plummet. David Hungate left the band to focus on his solo career and the band had several drummers. In 1984, Bobby Kimball left the band following drug-related charges. The band continued with Michael Porcaro, Steve Lukather and Michael Porcaro.
Toto released Isolation despite the turbulence. It was not as well-liked as IV. However, the group had a successful chart-topping album in 1992, Kingdom of Desire. This album marked the end of the original Toto lineup and was the first album to feature a new singer, Simon Phillips.

The new tour by the band includes their best hits and rarely live cuts, along with some of the songs from Lukather and Williams' individual catalogs.

Line-up
The band's third album, Turn Back, marked the return to the traditional sextet arrangement of the previous albums. It was a more ferocious, consistent effort with an edge that was stronger than Hydra. Its more punk-rock sound reflected the maturation of the group and included drummer Bobby Kimball's greater proficiency on the drums, as well as a more mature, confident vocal delivery by singer Joseph Williams. David Paich's keyboard skills were also more sophisticated, sharper, and less derivative on earlier efforts.
After touring to promote their album, the band recorded an Amsterdam live performance that was released on Eagle Records as a 2-CD set titled Falling In Between. The group released their new studio album a few months later and embarked on a world tour promote it. During this period keyboardist Greg Phillinganes replaced Paich and bassist David Hungate quit the group to spend time with his family.
In 1998, Paich & Lukather began searching through old tapes & demos to discover songs that had never been recorded prior to. It was completed in 2001 as a duo album titled Then and Now. It was the first album in the band's history not to include a single song with the word "A" in the title, and it also contained one previously unreleased track, "Kari-Anne".
By 2003, Toto had begun to decline in popularity. The group's fourth album, Old Is New, was a commercial flop and singer Williams suffered from a bad laryngitis infection which hampered his singing. Hungate also returned to Nashville and Leland Sklar's drumming was replaced by Shem Von Schroeck.
Downes, Wetton Palmer and Howe, the founding members of Asia were in England in the early part of 2006 to discuss the possibility that the group could be reformed. The lineup, with the exception of Howe who was occupied with Yes at the time, became Toto XIV. They toured extensively.
In 2010, the band reunited for another reunion tour with a slightly different line-up, including guitarists Mike Porcaro and Steve Lukather, drummer John Pierce, bassist Shannon Forrest, and multi-instrumentalists Warren Ham and Dominique Taplin. The band also featured the appearance of singer Michael McDonald, and a backing singer named Mabvuto Carpenter.
