Other philosophers who developed pragmatist concepts during the 1900s included George Herbert Mead and W.E.B Du Bois, who came up with pragmatic perspectives on social science and the study of race relations; Alain Locke, who developed pragmatist ideas regarding the structure of education and science and John Dewey, who articulated pragmatist ideas in areas including public policy, education, and democracy.

Presently, pragmatism is in the process of influencing the design of educational programs, curriculums as well as scientific and technological applications.
