The results of this study suggest that acupuncture treatment for infertility in women results in positive thinking through changes in the body as well as through increased hope. Participants experienced a feeling of warmth in their bodies, regular menstrual cycle, and reduced fatigue through acupuncture treatment, indicating a state of psychological stability.

Traditional medicine (TM) is widely used in South Korea and Taiwan, and both societies have similar systems for the management of TM. This study aimed to compare the TM systems in South Korea and Taiwan.
We searched for studies on the TM systems and collected statistical data from the websites of relevant government agencies in both countries. Interviews were conducted with experts on TM and officials from government agencies. The two TM systems were described and examined in terms of policies, resources, utilization, licensing, and educational systems.
Both South Korea and Taiwan have a dual system that separates the administration, licensing and educational systems between TM and Western Medicine (WM), and the TM systems are well established and highly standardized. Comparing with South Korea, however, Taiwan has a more flexible dual medical system in which education courses for producing dual licensure are provided. Additionally, in the system in Taiwan, dual license holders can use both TM and WM methods without limitations and WM doctors can apply acupuncture under some circumstances. Because of the strict dual medical system in South Korea, TM and WM conflict with each other on most health issues.
Both South Korea and Taiwan have the advantages of preserving TM, as TM and WM are systemically independent and together provide a more holistic approach. The institutionalization of TM in South Korea and Taiwan may be a good reference for countries considering modernization of their TM.

Despite the importance of accurate Sasang type diagnosis, a unique form of Korean medicine, there have been concerns about consistency among diagnoses. We investigate a data-driven integrative diagnostic model by applying machine learning to a multicenter clinical dataset with comprehensive features.
Extremely randomized trees (ERT), support vector machines, multinomial logistic regression, and K-nearest neighbor were applied, and performances were evaluated by cross-validation. The feature importance of the classifier was analyzed to understand which information is crucial in diagnosis.
The ERT classifier showed the highest performance, with an overall f1 score of 0.60±0.060. The feature classes of body measurement, personality, general information, and cold-heat were more decisive than others in classifying Sasang types. Costal angle was the most informative feature. In pairwise classification, we found Sasang type-dependent distinctions that body measurement features played a key role in TE-SE and TE-SY datasets, while personality and cold-heat features showed importance in SE-SY dataset.
Current study investigated a comprehensive diagnostic model for Sasang type using machine learning and achieved better performance than previous studies. This study helps data-driven decision making in clinics by revealing key features contributing to the Sasang type diagnosis.

Traditional East Asian Medical (TEAM) practice systems exhibit much variation. this website Little work has been done to study reasons for this variation. This essay explores cultural and historical explanations for how variety occurs by contrasting the use of two TEAM concepts in diagnosis in Chinese and Japanese systems.
Focussing on two important concepts,
(heart) and
(spirit), a literature review is performed to contrast how they developed, are understood and used in diagnosis in Chinese Traditional Chinese medicine, TCM, and Japanese Meridian Therapy, MT.
While TCM texts describe many heart-related diagnoses, MT texts do not describe any. While TCM associates '
' with the mind and emotions coupled with associated diagnoses, MT does neither. Historical and cultural reasons for these differences are identified.
In light of these findings, important questions arise about the nature of concepts and diagnoses in TEAM practice systems. They are not objective like biomedical constructs and diagnoses, nor are they clearly articulated and studied yet according to international standards. This suggests a range of research strategies that are needed. There are valid historical and cultural reasons for the differences we see between Japanese and Chinese TEAM systems. In light of these, further research is needed to elaborate and identify critical issues that are important for education, practice and research.
