of the paper explains the enhancement of potentiality of anticancer drugs or phytochemicals which restricts its utilization in chemotherapeutic applications by the encapsulation or adsorption of them on selenium nanoparticles proven to accelerate the anticancerous properties with better results when compared with individual components. SeNPs (selenium nanoparticles) have demonstrated chemotherapeutic activity due to pro-oxidant property, where the anti-oxidant enzymes are stimulated to produce reactive active species, which induces oxidative stress, followed by activation of the apoptotic signalling pathway, cell cycle arrest, mitochondrial dysfunction and other pathways that ultimately lead to cell death. Selenium in nanoparticulate form can be used as a micronutrient to human health, thereby having low toxicity, can easily be degraded and also has good biocompatibility.
In France, the prevalence of childhood lead poisoning is becoming rare since the avoidance of lead in paints in 1949 and the gradual replacement of water pipes. Chronic lead toxicity is well known and is well correlated to blood lead concentration.
Here we report a case of severe lead poisoning occurring in a young female child with a pica behavior.
A blood sample and four environmental samples were analyzed using inductively coupled plasma- mass spectrometry (ICP-MS). Lead concentration, lead isotopes and elemental ratios were compared.
The determination of
Pb/
Pb,
Pb/
Pb and Cd/Pb has allowed us to identify the origin of lead poisoning.
The source of contamination was eliminated and the child benefited from a psychological and medical follow up. Her outcome was positive. This case illustrated the potential interest of the use of elemental and isotopic ratios for clinical practice as the ICP-MS measurement has allowed a quick response and a rapid eviction of the contamination's source.

Representing a remnant of the anterior notochord, it is often an incidental finding and thought to be of no clinical significance. However, it has recently been suggested that a potential association may exist between sellar spine and pediatric pituitary endocrinopathies, possibly caused by deformation of the developing pituitary gland by the sellar spine. To our knowledge, this is the first case report demonstrating an association between sellar spine and clinical diabetes insipidus. We present a case of perinephric myxoid pseudotumor of fat, a rare benign entity that often occurs in patients with non-neoplastic renal disease. In our case, an 80 year old man with end-stage renal disease was imaged over the course of 5 years during evaluation for renal transplantation. Imaging identified a left perinephric mass whose appearance over time and on different imaging modalities variably suggested a simple cyst, cystic neoplasm, and liposarcoma. Contrast enhanced examination was necessary to discern the solid nature of this mass, and ultimately, tissue sampling with histopathologic evaluation and molecular testing were required to make the diagnosis of myxoid pseudotumor of fat and exclude the imaging mimics.
Evaluate diagnostic accuracy of portable chest radiograph in mechanically ventilated patients taking autopsy findings as the gold standard and the interobserver agreement among intensivists and radiologists.
Retrospective study of 422 patients over 22 years who died in the ICU, underwent an autopsy, and had at least one portable chest radiograph 72 h prior to death. Two intensivists and two radiologists independently read each chest radiograph. Sensitivity, specificity, positive and negative likelihood ratios were evaluated. Overall performance metrics accuracy between intensivists and radiologists were compared using a generalized estimating equation. Cohen's kappa coefficient was used to evaluate the interobserver agreement with the following values <0.20poor, 0.21-0.40fair, 0.41-0.60moderate, 0.61-0.80good, 0.81-1.00excellent.
Overall sensitivity and specificity for pneumonia was 24% and 91% respectively. Overall sensitivity and specificity for ARDS was 68% and 74% respectively. Sensitivity for pneumonia was higher among radiologists (p < 0,05). Specificity for ADRS was higher among radiologists (p < 0,05). see more Good interobserver agreement among radiologists and poor correlation between intensivists was found.
Chest radiographs has a moderate specificity for ARDS and a high specificity for pneumonia, with limited sensitivity in both entities. Interobserver agreement of portable chest radiograph in the mechanically ventilated patients is higher between radiologists than intensivists.

To identify if triage hypothermia (<36.0°C) among emergency department (ED) encounters with sepsis are independently associated with mortality.
We analyzed data from a multi-stage probability sample survey of visits to United States EDs between 2007 and 2015, using two inclusion approaches an explicit definition based on diagnosis codes for sepsis and a severe sepsis definition, combining evidence of infection with organ dysfunction. We used multivariable regression to determine an association between hypothermia and in-hospital mortality.
Of 1.2 billion ED encounters (95% confidence interval [CI] 1.0-1.3 billion), 3.1 million (95% CI 2.7-3.5 million) met the explicit sepsis definition; 7.4% (95% CI 75.2-9.7%) had triage hypothermia. The adjusted odds ratio (aOR) for hypothermia for in-hospital mortality was 6.82 (95% CI 3.08-15.22). The severe sepsis definition identified 3.5 million (95% 3.1-4.0 million) encounters; 30.3% (95% CI 25.0-34.6%) had triage hypothermia. The aOR for hypothermia with mortality was 4.
