To provide a knowledge resource for the plant research community towards elucidating the diversity of biological roles of lncRNAs, the information generated about MAP lncRNAs (post-filtering steps) through lncRNADetector has been stored and organized in MAPslnc database (MAPslnc, https//lncrnapipe.cimap.res.in). The lncRNADetector web server and MAPslnc database have been developed in order to facilitate researchers for accurate identification of lncRNAs from the next-generation sequencing data of different organisms for downstream studies. To the best of our knowledge no such MAPslnc database is available till date.Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) are an increasing focus of investigation due to their implications in diverse biological processes and disease. Nevertheless, the majority of lncRNAs are low in abundance and poorly conserved, posing challenges to functional studies. The CRISPR/Cas system, an innovative technology that has emerged over the last decade, can be utilized to further understand lncRNA function. The system targets specific DNA and/or RNA sequences via a guide RNA (gRNA) and Cas nuclease complex. We and others have utilized this technology in various applications such as lncRNA knockout, knockdown, overexpression, and imaging. In this review, we summarize how the CRISPR/Cas technology provides new tools to investigate the roles and therapeutic implications of lncRNAs.Background During the current COVID-19 pandemic, offline clinical education was mandated to suspend at the neurology department of many teaching hospitals globally, yet there is insufficient evidence regarding the preferred practice and methods for online neurology intern training course.Objective The investigation aimed to examine whether the online neurology training course based on Small Private Online Course (SPOC) and blending learning mode can achieve a good effect and cater for interns from different medical programs and whether the learning group size affects the teaching effect.Design The subjects were 92 students enrolled in the neurology internship at the Second Xiangya Hospital of China from 9 March to 9 August 2020. After completing the online course, the final scores and evaluation results were compared among different groups of interns, and their preference to distinct contents of the course was analyzed. Statistical analysis was performed using the SPSS program (version 22.0).Results Our online course received consistent positive recognition from the interns. Ninety-nine percent of the interns recommended incorporating the online course into the conventional offline training program after the pandemic. There was no significant difference between interns from different programs concerning the final scores and course evaluation. read more A smaller learning group size ( less then 15 students) could achieve a better teaching effect than a larger group size (p less then 0.05). The interns preferred interactive discussions, and course contents that they can get practice and feedback from, rather than video watching and didactic lectures.Conclusions The online neurology intern training course based on SPOC and blending learning mode is worthy of popularization in a large student base. The teaching effect of an online intern training program may be improved by limiting the group size to less than 15 students and encouraging more interactive discussion, more practice and feedback.
Hypertension is common in patients with atrial fibrillation (AF) and carries an additional risk for complications, most notably stroke and bleeding. We assessed the history of hypertension, level of blood pressure control, and an interaction with the choice of oral anticoagulants on clinical outcomes.

We performed a systematic review and meta-analysis of studies that randomised patients to novel oral anticoagulants (NOACs) or vitamin K antagonists (VKAs) and reported outcomes stratified by presence of hypertension. Collected outcomes were ischaemic stroke or systemic embolism (SE), haemorrhagic stroke, intracranial haemorrhage and major bleeding. Log adjusted hazard ratios (HR) and corresponding standard error were calculated, and HRs were compared using Mantel-Haenszel random effects. Quality of the evidence was assessed with Cochrane risk of bias tool.

Five high-quality studies were eligible, including 71.527 participants who received NOACs (apixaban, dabigatran, edoxaban, rivaroxaban) or VKAs, with mlevated blood pressure.We evaluated existing mobile applications (apps) on both Android and iOS (Apple) platforms that are used by men who have sex with men (MSM) to obtain sexual encounters. The word "gay" was used to search for apps in the Apple and Google Play virtual stores. The 10 most downloaded apps were analysed concerning safe sexual practices (SSP) messages. Out of 245 apps selected, 213 were evaluated - 102 for Android and 111 for iOS. Mostly social networks were accessed by MSM of which 112 allow access to people aged 14 and over. Most of the apps could be downloaded in more than two languages. Of the 10 most downloaded and evaluated apps, 5 had no HIV/STI and SSP messages, only 3 contained HIV/STI and SSP messages, and 2 had information about one or the other. Several social networking apps are available, however, there is no information on HIV/STI in the most accessed apps.The male condom is the most cost-effective method for prevention of HIV and other sexually transmitted infections (STIs), yet in high-burden countries, promotion of its use remains difficult to achieve, especially among high-risk individuals. This review reports on women's perspectives of male condom use and identifies outcome measures that will assist in understanding barriers to male condom use in a South African setting. The Boolean search method was used to retrieve literature, from which 18 studies met the inclusion criteria. The use of the male condom was generally low and inconsistent. Use was higher among women who engaged in transactional sex. Most women had difficulty in negotiating condom use with their partners, particularly if they were in male-dominated relationships or were financially dependent on their partner. Women with higher education levels were able to negotiate use more easily. Interventions for assertive negotiation skills were useful. However, the stigma of infidelity and HIV infection are barriers to condom use.
