TLM nanoparticles could be potential anticancer agents for breast cancer and deserve further studies.
The aim of this study was to prepare orally disintegrating, slow release tablets of naproxen sodium for prompt onset and sustained action required in many types of acute pain.

Tablet formulations containing varying concentrations of croscarmellose sodium (a superdisintegrant) and Soluplus
(as release modifier) were prepared by wet granulation method using a single punch tablet machine. The prepared granules were evaluated for their bulk properties and the tablets were evaluated for hardness, disintegration time, and drug release profiles.

The results showed that the granules so prepared have good flow and compressional properties. A disintegration time of tablets <30 s was achieved by selecting an optimum concentration of croscarmellose sodium. The drug release from the tablets was sustained for 2 h by incorporating a suitable amount of Soluplus
.

This study examined the use of Soluplus
(a novel solubilizer) for the first time as a release modifier of API from tablets.

L. is the largest genus of the family Lamiaceae, which includes approximately 1000 species. According to recent studies, 100 Salvia species in total grow in Turkey. At the same time, 53% of them are endemic. The purpose of this study was to investigate the genetic relationships among 15
species that grow in wild conditions in Turkey's Eastern Anatolia region.

The genetic relationships among 15
species were investigated using inter-simple sequence repeat (ISSR) and random amplified polymorphic-DNA (RAPD) profiles in the present study. Thirteen ISSR primers and 11 RAPD primers were utilized. The ISSR and RAPD data were combined to construct the unweighted pair group method using arithmetic average cluster.

Based on the RAPD and ISSR data, the
species were classified into six groups. As a result of the combined analysis, it was shown that similarities between the species varied between 0.54 (
, and
) and 0.93 (
).

The findings show that the two markers represent powerful instruments for assessing the genetic diversity and relationships among
species.

Neonicotinoid insecticides, 30% of insecticides marketed worldwide, have selective toxicity on insects through α4p2 nicotinic acetylcholine receptors. Although it is known that acetamiprid exerts toxicity on several organ systems, its toxic effects on the pancreas and its mechanism of action have not been clarified yet. Therefore, in the present study, the cytotoxic and genotoxic potentials of acetamiprid on the AR42J pancreatic cell line were evaluated.

The (3-[4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl]-2,5 diphenyl tetrazolium bromide) (MTT) assay and comet assay were conducted for the cyto- and genotoxicity evaluations, respectively. Reactive oxygen species (ROS) production was assessed by flow cytometry and glutathione (GSH) levels were determined by ELISA for oxidative damage potential, which is thought to be an underlying mechanism of cyto-/genotoxic effects.

To reveal the dose-response relationship the concentration range of 1-6 mM was selected for the assays. Cell viability decreased in a dose-dependent manner and the inhibitory concentration 50 value was calculated as 12.61 mM by the MTT assay. Acetamiprid induced DNA damage in all concentrations tested in a dose-depending manner. The mean tail intensity values were 3.84 and ≤32.96 for the control and exposure groups, respectively. There was no significant difference for ROS production; however, the GSH level was reduced at the highest concentration.

It is thought that the present study will contribute to the literature due to the lack of data on the potential toxic effects of acetamiprid on the pancreas. To better understand acetamiprid toxicity, further studies including a wide range of mechanistic parameters are needed.

Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are widely used for the treatment of acute to chronic pain. A simple, fast, and reliable gas chromatographic (GC) method with flame ionization detection has been developed for the determination of NSAIDs such as diclofenac sodium, ibuprofen, and mefenamic acid after derivatization with ethyl chloroformate.

The GC conditions were optimized as elution from a DB-1 column (30 mx0.32 mm id) at column temperature 150 °C for 3 min, followed by a heating rate of 20 °C/min up to 280 °C and a hold time of 5 min. The nitrogen flow rate was 2.5 mL/min. For spectrophotometric studies, the absorbance was measured against methanol at a wavelength of 200-500 nm.

The calibration curves were linear within 2-10 μg/mL with limits of detection of 0.4-0.6 μg/mL of each drug. The derivatization elution, separation, and quantitation were repeatable (n=3) with relative standard deviation (RSD) within 3.9%. The method was applied for the analysis of the drugs from pharmaceutical formulations and the results of the analysis agreed with labeled values with RSDs within 0.5-3.9%. The results were also confirmed by standard addition method. The percent recovery was calculated with spiked deproteinized human blood serum and urine samples and % recovery of the drugs was obtained within 96-98% with RSDs within 3.1%.

The validated method proved its ability for the assay of NSAIDs in bulk and dosage form in a short analysis time. The method was also useful for the analysis of biological samples.

China is one of the major commercial producers of Ganoderma mushroom worldwide. However, with the expansion of the commercial cultivation, the occurrence of the fungal diseases on G. lingzhi has also been increased. selleckchem The green mold disease symptoms were observed in the cultivation base of G. lingzhi in Zuojia Town, Jilin City, Jilin Province, China, causing the basidiomes to be rotten and withered, and the green mycelium layer generated gradually. The pathogenicity tests showed the same symptoms as appeared naturally in Zuojia mushroom base. Morphology characters revealed conidia green, ellipsoid, globose, 2.56-4.83 × 2.09-4.22 μm, length-width ratio was 1.1-1.2 (n = 10). Conidiophores trichoderma-like, often asymmetry, branches solitary, paired or in whorls of 3 phialides formed solitary, paired or in whorl, variable in shape, lageniform, sometimes ampulliform or subulate. While using molecular methodology, comparing with the sequences of Trichodermahengshanicum from GenBank, the analyzed sequence showed 97.32% homology with the RPB2 sequences, 100% with the TEF1-α sequences. A fungus isolated from the diseased tissues was identified based on morphology and molecular studies as T. hengshanicum. This is the first report of T. hengshanicum causing the green mold disease of G. lingzhi in China.Cypripedium japonicum is known to be the indigenous plant to Korea, Japan, and China. However, C. japonicum represents the most critically endangered plant species in South Korea. The plant is esthetically pleasing due to its flower, which is larger than any other orchidaceous species. Disease symptoms relating to gray mold were observed on C. japonicum in May 2019. The suspected pathogen was successfully isolated from the symptomatic leaf tissue and conducted a pure culture of the fungi. The conidia formed consisted of a colorless or light brown single cell, which was either egg or oval-shaped with a size of 7.1 to 13.4 × 5.2 to 8.6 μm. Molecular phylogenetic relationship analysis was also confirmed that the pathogen concerned belonging to the family of Botrytis cinerea. Therefore, the findings confirmed that the pathogen isolated from C. japonicum was consistent with the unique properties of B. cinerea. In 2016, a cercosporoid fungus was found from leaf spot symptoms on melon in Korea. The fungus isolated from the plant was identified based on morphological characteristics and sequence analyses of five genes (ITS rDNA, translation elongation factor 1-α, actin, calmodulin, and histone H3). The fungal isolate was found to be pathogenic to melon. The results confirm that the fungus associated with leaf spot on melon was Cercospora cf. flagellaris. This is the first report of Cercospora cf. flagellaris causing Cercospora leaf spot on melon in Korea.Fungal ecological interactions play a key role in structuring community assemblages. These associations may involve both antagonistic and synergistic relationships, which are commonly influenced by abiotic factors such as nutrient conditions. However, information for extreme, oligotrophic systems remain poor. Herein, interactions among key members of the aquatic transient fungal community (Aspergillus niger, Cladosporium sp., and Coprinellus micaceus) of a low-nutrient freshwater system in the Cuatro Ciénegas Basin, Mexico were studied. Pairwise interaction bioassays were explored in vitro under different nutrient conditions, including carbohydrates-rich, carbohydrates and amino peptides-rich, and low nutrients. Our results indicated that antagonistic patterns prevail among the studied taxa. However, nutrient-dependent changes were observed in Cladosporium sp. shifting to synergy under carbohydrates-rich conditions, suggesting changes in the fungal community composition as a result of nutrient enrichment. Remarkably, our findings contrast with previous work demonstrating mainly synergistic interactions between our tested fungal isolates and co-occurring autochthonous bacteria (Aeromonas spp. and Vibrio sp.) under low-nutrient conditions. This observation may indicate that bacteria and fungi exhibit distinct community-level responses, driven by nutrient conditions. This contributes to the knowledge of fungal community dynamics and interspecific interactions in an oligotrophic ecosystem, highlighting the relevance of nutrient-based shifts and antagonistic interactions in ecosystem dynamics. Many of the β-glucans are known to have antihypertensive activities, but, except for angiotensin-converting enzyme II inhibition, the underlying mechanisms remain unclear. Corin is an atrial natriuretic peptide (ANP)-converting enzyme. Activated corin cleaves pro-ANP to ANP, which regulates water-sodium balance and lowers blood pressure. Here, we reported a novel antihypertensive mechanism of β-glucans, involved with corin and ANP in mice. We showed that multiple oral administrations of β-glucan induced the expression of corin and ANP, and also increased natriuresis in mice. Microarray analysis showed that corin gene expression was only upregulated in mice liver by multiple, not single, oral administrations of the β-glucan fraction of Phellinus baumii (BGF). Corin was induced in liver and kidney tissues by the β-glucans from zymosan and barley, as well as by BGF. In addition to P. baumii, β-glucans from two other mushrooms, Phellinus linteus and Ganoderma lucidum, also induced corin mRNA expression in mouse liver.
