For PME, participants more frequently mentioned message perceptions (15.75% positive message perceptions, 8.38% negative) than effect perceptions (3.46% positive effect perceptions, 1.37% negative). Many studies explore individual-level barriers to contraceptive use, yet interactional barriers are important to understand since contraception is primarily obtained through provider-patient interactions. link2 Thus, through interviews with 86 women and 51 providers in the United States, we employ a framework of biomedicalization to study how such interactions, including the knowledge bases that inform them, shape women's contraceptive decision-making. We find that when women's embodied knowledge and providers' biomedical knowledge differ, providers' preferences supersede women's. Providers, however, overlook this hierarchy, instead viewing their relationships with patients as empowering equal partnerships. This pattern precludes women from achieving their desired contraceptive method and highlights the process through which women's concerns become barriers to contraceptive use. With increasing patient survival, a significant increase in elderly cancer patients and long-term cardiotoxicity effects of anthracyclines, a better mechanistic understanding of age-dependent processes-that define cardiotoxicity-is needed. This review sheds light on how age affects underlying molecular pathways of anthracycline-associated cardiotoxicity and aims to provide preventive strategies that can be used in clinical practice.
To explore the trends in actions and factors influencing families of children with hearing loss, regarding early treatment following the implementation of a newborn hearing screening (NHS) in Taiwan.

A retrospective study was conducted by extracting data from the treatment histories of families with children who had hearing loss and who were contacted and assessed by the non-profit organisation (NPO). Children born between 2012 and 2018 were included. The time lapse between initial NHS and early treatment sought by each family was documented and the factors predicting the timing of those actions were identified.

Data of 2095 families of children with hearing loss and who received treatment from an NPO for the annual birth cohort of 2012 through 2018 were included.

The median age at treatments initiation improved through the years. Parental educational level and the child's degree of hearing loss were significant indicators of the child's initial age at treatment intervention, age when hearing aids were fitted, and days taken to contact the organisation.

The NHS in Taiwan promoted earlier treatment for children with hearing loss. Furthermore, patient instructions and education may be important to enable parents to take actions for early intervention.

To describe the management and multimodal imaging of lattice corneal dystrophy type II (LCD-II) complicated by an infectious keratitis due to a bandage contact lens and to review current literature.

At slit lamp, bilateral lattice corneal dystrophy (LCD) was characterized by multiple linear refractile lines and subepithelial fibrosis along with Neurotrophic keratitis Mackie grade I. Findings of anterior segment optical coherence tomography (AS-OCT) were epithelial irregularity, subepithelial fibrosis, hyperreflectivity on anterior stromal layer, lobulated stromal surface. In vivo confocal microscopy (IVCM) showed hyperreflected deposits on the basal and Bowman layers, visible keratocytes; fine lines and streaks between corneal lamella. The sub-basal nerve plexus and the stromal nerves were no longer visible. She presented in emergency with a left red eye. A sevet corneal erosion. To provide a brief description about its evolving process, China Health Statistical Yearbook data and Sichuan administrative data from 2009 to 2017 were used in this article. An overall upward trend of hospital delivery capacity was found in this study, which increased from 3.12 million beds and 1.09 million doctors in 2009 to 6.12 million and 1.80 million in 2017, respectively, while the primary healthcare institutions presented fairly slow development pace. Growing proportion of medical resources and patients gathered in hospitals, especially tertiary hospitals. While private hospitals demonstrated an increasingly important role in hospital market with growing share of capacity and service, their average capacity, especially the human resource, was found to be much lower than that of public hospitals and the gaps are still widening. The competition among hospitals grouped by homogeneous ownership types has predominated the increasingly intensified hospital market competition in China. Examples include attending to negative emotions such as fear and anxiety, raising awareness of emotional manipulations by anti-vaccine disinformation efforts, and activating positive emotions such as altruism and hope as part of vaccine education endeavors.Research shows child welfare cases involving caregiver domestic violence (DV) continue to produce punitive consequences for non-abusive adult victims. This occurs despite the adoption of a supportive policy framework that emphasizes perpetrator responsibility for DV-related harm to children. Risk assessment procedures have been implicated in punitive outcomes, but we know little about how they shape child welfare workers' decision-making practice. Focusing on a state with a supportive policy framework, this paper uses grounded theory to examine how policy contradictions, procedural directives around risk assessment, and informal interventions produce punitive consequences for adult victims of DV and unmitigated risk to children. Data include state policy and procedural documents and interviews with child welfare workers describing decision-making in their most recent completed case and most recent case involving DV. Findings point to the need for active alignment of policies and procedures, greater integration of knowledge across practice areas, renewed commitments to differential response, and greater inclusion of DV specialists in child welfare settings.
