Today is January 26 and we're having the Boston Food Swap. The event is very simple you bring some food and swap that with others people's food. The only rule is that the food MUST be homemade, homegrown, or foraged by you. So i decided to get into this with the most traditional Brazilian Candy. Brigadeiros.
To make this piece of heaven you're gonna need: 1 14oz can of condensed milk/Cocoa Powder/Chocolate Sprinkles/and Butter.- So... The first thing to do is take lil bit of butter and put it to melt in a pot. After that you can throw your whole condensed milk can inside followed by three big spoons of cocoa powder. I put four because the spoon i was using was not so big. I'm not good with teaspoons and other measure details. Sorry for that. With everything inside your pot you start stirring and don't stop until it's not sticking to the pot anymore like this. After that you put it in a separate plate and put that plate on the refrigerator. While you´re waiting for then to lose the heat you can eat what's left on the condensed milk can. After 5 or 10 minutes you can take then out, spread some butter in your hand to not get chocolate sticking in it, take lil bit with a spoon, roll it in the shape of a ball, and throw it inside a bowl with your chocolate sprinklers. Voilá you got your brigadeiros ready for the Boston Food Swap. This is my table. It's not so decorated and prepared as the others but we have Brigadeiros and that's what matters. So i tought it would be a nice idea to leave a camera recording people's reactions when tasting my brigadeiros. After some swappings i got some very nice foods in exchange of my brigadeiros. There's this Whoopie Pies, a lot of Raspberry cookies, some kind of rice with marshmallow and chocolates, there's even a heart shaped one.
