Bellatrix Lestrange adalah salah seorang pengikut Voldemort yang paling setia. Ia mengabdikan kehidupannya untuk kepentingan Voldemort sehingga sering kali ia terlibat penggunaan sihir ilegal, seperti Unforgivable Curses. Namun, ia sendiri pun pernah mengalaminya.
• Yang pertama, tahun 1996. Bellatrix seharusnya menjadi korban kutukan Cruciatus oleh Harry Potter, namun gagal karena Harry tidak benar-benar memiliki tekad untuk menyakitinya. Ini merupakan satu-satunya kasus dimana Bellatrix menerima rapalan kutukan tak termaafkan, sementara sisanya merupakan kasus dimana Bellatrix menjadi pihak perapal.
Kasus penggunaan mantra kutukan tak termaafkan oleh Bellatrix yang paling terkenal adalah penggunaan mantra Crucio kepada pasangan kekasih Longbottom. Akibat ulah Bellatrix dan 3 pelaku lainnya ini, pasangan kekasih tersebut harus dirawat di bangsal tertutup St.Mungo untuk kasus penyakit dan luka-luka sihir, hingga pada akhirnya keduanya wafat. Karena kasus ini, Bella mendapat hukuman Azkaban untuk seumur hidupnya.
