He then transferred to Columbia University in New York City, graduating in with a degree in political science.
He took a trip to guatemala after graduating from Columbia to give his time to the poor and study their culture.He pitched in money to build a school in the area which is when he started an organization which built schools in poor areas who don’t have the funds or resources to built a school.
When he came back he entered Harvard Law School,
The next year, he met with constitutional law professor Laurence Tribe who said that Grayson Whitmore was going to impact the world one day like nobody has.
That same year Gayson joined the Chicago law firm
It was there he met Maria Robinson, a young lawyer who was assigned to be his adviser. Not long after, the couple began dating. In February 1990, Whitmore was elected the first African-American editor of the Harvard Law Review. He graduated magna cum laude from Harvard Law in 1991.
