1. Spearmint, salah satu jenis mint beraroma yang berasal dari Eropa dan Asia terutama Timur Tengah, Himalaya, dan China.
Berbatang lunak, tingginya sekitar 30-200 cm dan tidak berkayu. Akarnya rimpang, batang berbentuk persegi, daun berwarna hijau dg panjang 5-9 cm lebar 1,5-3 cm, tepi daun bergerigi, ujung daun runcing tajam sehingga disebut tombak (spear)
2. Nama ilmiah tersebut adalah nama ilmiah dari Peppermint
3. Manfaat Peppermint:
• Meredakan gangguan pencernaan seperti gangguan usus perut kembung, kram perut, dan BAB tidak teratur
• Meredakan gatal akibat gigitan serangga
• Meredakan flu dan pilek serta sakit kepala dan migrain
• Merawat rambut dan menyegarkan kulit kepala
4. Pada 2,5% daun peppermint kering, terkandung:
• 50% Menthol
• 10-30% Menthone
• Sampai 10% menthyl esters
• Turunan monoterpene (pulegone, piperitone, menthofurane)
• 0,1% Jasmone
5. Mitsuba, nama latin oenamthe linearis. Jenis sayuran yang populer di Jepang dan mirip seledri. Lebar 50 - 80 cm, daun lebar majemuk. Biasanya digunakan untuk lalapan.
6. Manfaat mitsuba :
• Mencegah insomnia,
• Menjaga kesehatan mata
• Mencegah keropos tulang
• Membantu perkembangan otak terutama pada bayi
7. Melissa officinalis adalah nama ilmiah dari lemon balm
Tanaman herbal yang termasuk dalam keluarga Mint. Tumbuh sekitar 70-140 cm. Bunga berwarna putih dan penuh nektar. Biasanya digunakan untuk sebagai obat herbal penenang.
