Have you ever heard of ringette? Odds are that you haven't, but you should, it's amazing. There are 42 sports in the summer Olympics, and only 15 sports in the Winter Olympics. It could do with a few more. There are more than 30,000 people in Canada alone who play ringette. Ringette would be a great example of a demonstration sport in the Olympics, partly because there are many countries that play ringette such as Finland, Sweden, Canada and Czech Republic, just to name a few.

I think that to be in the Olympics you have to work hard all of your life, and I am sure that many Olympians have been playing their sport since they were very young. They have worked hard their whole life to go the Olympics. But the kids that chose ringette, and fell in love with it, don't get that opportunity, all because they chose this great sport.

You might say ringette shouldn't be in the Olympics because it's not very popular, but it isn't that popular because not a lot of people know about it. But the Olympics are on the TV, so if people were to watch the Olympics, they would find out about ringette, and then the sport will grow. I also think that ringette would be a good thing for the Olympics, because the spectators will love it. Ringette is a great team sport and very fun to watch.

In conclusion, I feel that both ringette and the Olympics would both benefit if this change was made. The sport would gain more popularity, and the Olympics would gain a new sport. The players themselves would benefit as well, with new opportunities opening. All in all, this would be a really smart move for the Olympics.

Ringette teaches people about teamwork, because each person can only have the ring for 30 seconds, and you have to pass the ring over both blue lines, but not at the same time, and not to yourself, needing 2-3 players. There's also a fairplay rule, stating that all players must be played equally. Players rotate every 2 minutes, to give everyone enough play time.
