Suatu teknologi yang memungkinkan manusia memenuhi kebutuhan dibatas kemampuan alamiah.
Contoh: rekayasa genetika
Kerugian rekayasa genetika; hilangnya identitas asli hewan dan tumbuhan
Keuntungan rekayasa genetika; digunakan pada mikroorganisme membantu dalam penciptaan obat-obatan baru
3. Teknologi implikasi
Suatu teknologi yang bertujuan untuk membantu dan inplementasi teknologi teknologi lain
Contoh: Komputer
Kerugian komputer; kerusakan mata menjadi minus bila dipakai terlalu lama
Keuntungan komputer; dapat menjadi media menyimpanan data dan dibaca kembali untuk diolah kembali
4. Teknologi Destruktif
Suatu teknologi yang dirancang dengan tujuan utama untuk dihancurkan
Contoh: Nuklir
Kerugian nuklir; radiasinya yang berbahaya
Keuntungan nuklir; menghasilkan energi dalam jumlah yang besar
5. Teknologi Konpensatoris
Suatu teknologi yang digunakan untuk membantu menangani dampak teknologi dalam kehidupan manusia
Contoh: Ruang Mati
Kerugian ruang mati; orang didalamnya akan kekurangan oksigen
Keuntungan ruang mati; menghemat penggunaan listrik
