Patronus.
Mantra yang menghasilkan penjaga atau pelindung berbentuk hewan berwarna putih keperakan, Patronus ini biasanya bisa dilihat setelah si perapal melemparkan mantra "Expecto Patronum" dengan menghasilkan warna silver, mantra ini digunakan sebagai perlindungan melawan Dementor dan Lethifold.
Selain termasuk kedalam mantra yang paling sulit dilakukan, si perapal harus memiliki konsentrasi yang bagus dan memikirkan memori terindah. Hasil Patronus akan berpengaruh pada keadaan emosi sang perapal. Kisah paling terkenal yang saya ingat di tahun 1993, saat Harry Potter melihat Bapak Baptisnya yang tak lain adalah Sirius Black, tergeletak tak sadarkan diri dan sudah dikelilingi oleh ratusan Dementor. Harry berusaha melakukan mantra Patronus tetapi tidak berhasil. Para Dementor hampir berhasil menghisap jiwa Sirius sampai Patronus yang kuat menyerupai rusa muncul, dan Dementor pun berhasil dilawan.
• Patronus perlu dipelajari atau tidak?
• Menurut saya perlu Prof. Buat jaga-jaga kalau ada dementor berkeliaran terus tiba-tiba kena kissing-nya kan bahaya hehe. Juga buat mengasah kemampuan dan ajang praktik di kelas sepertinya seru.
