Notes - notes.io

The user is a socially awkward human who wants to find out what being confident feels like or who wants to develop their social skills through games.

What do you look for in video games/simulators?
Sam: Graphics quality, a good story and plot-line. Well-optimized and decent controls.
Rikako: I look for good graphics and art, and also optimization and less lagging.
Sophia: That they're lifelike but not so lifelike that they are terrifying.
Katie: I look for strong female characters. Representation! Some sort of cool storyline, and good pictures / animation.

How confident do you feel on an everyday basis?
Sam: Pretty confident. As long as there are words to say, very confident.
Rikako: I would be a five because most of the time, I don't really care about what people think about me but sometimes I get self-conscious. I also tend to overthink things.
Sophia: Ouch. That's funny. Well, I feel like I put on this exterior facade that I am super confident and yay I'm so funny! But I really just conceal anxiety and there is a little tornado in my mind. Little biotch.
Katie: Not very confident. A little anxiety monster, I'm not confident at all.

What do you think of creating a simulator for people who don't have a lot of confidence to kind of "test-run" a virtual person?
Sam: Sounds fun.
Rikako: I don't know. I don't know if I would play that. I'm just guessing like an RPG, or one of those things that are like dating sims.
Sophia: I feel like it could be helpful. You know, like baby steps.
Katie: That would be fun. I mean I don't know if I were to do that and have it help, depends on how realistic it is.

Do you think this would raise any ethical or personal issues? And if so, what?
Sam: Probably not. It's just a game.
Rikako: I mean some people might get offended if they are self-conscious or something. If some people get offended easily and trigger at something someone in the game says, then they shouldn't play it.
Sophia. I know a lot of people that are super sensitive to many things but there are millions of first person shooting games out there... not really seeing anyone complaining about that.
Katie: I think maybe it could help you see things a little more clearly, and maybe see that you are being a little bit ridiculous with your lack of confidence. It's just teaching.

Would you play this game? And if so, why?
Sam: I wouldn't because I have no need for it. If it is a game for specifically people who need it then no.
Rikako: Probably not.
Sophia: Maybe, yeah. Because I feel like it would be something about like baby steps.
Katie: I would play it mostly because I'm curious. There should be some sort of interesting storyline.

Just for fun?
Sam: I could test run it, but wouldn't play it unless it was fully released.
Rikako: If there was an adventure part of it, maybe. But not necessarily.
Sophia: Yeah.
Katie: Yeah I would play just for fun.

Any additional questions or comments?
Sophia: No man, is cool.
Katie: I like the anime text box idea.
