Contoh jinxes adalah
1. Knockback Jinx (Flipendo), mantra untuk mendorong atau membalik sesuatu atau seseorang ke belakang.
2. Oppugno Jinx (Oppugno), mantra untuk membuat makhluk yang berada di bawah kontrol penyihir tersebut menyerang target.
3. Revulsion Jinx (Relashio), mantra untuk membuat target melepaskan apapun yang dipegangnya atau berada di tubuhnya, juga untuk menahan suatu obyek dengan kekuatan obyek tersebut.
Contoh Hexes :
1. Bat Bogey Hex (Kutukan Kepak Kelelawar), mantra untuk membuat target berubah bentuk menjadi seperti kelelawar.
2. Stinging Hex, mantra untuk membengkakkan atau membuat luka gosong.
3. Toenail Growing Hex, mantra untuk membuat kuku target tumbuh panjang dengan cepat.
Lalu contoh curses.
1. Cruciatus Curse (Crucio), membuat target merasa kesakitan dan menderita.
2. Imperius Curse (Imperio), mantra untuk membuat target berada dalam kendali kita.
3. Killing Curse (Avada Kedavra), mantra untuk membunuh. Hukuman bagi yang melakukannya adalah hukuman seumur hidup di Azkaban.
Selanjutnya ada Dark Potion (Ramuan Hitam).
Contohnya adalah Ramuan Kebangkitan Voldemort, Ramuan Polyjus, dan Ramuan Cinta. Lalu Dark Item, beberapa dijual di Borgin and Burkes.
Contohnya Tangan Kemuliaan, Horcrux, atau barang-barang yang sudah dikutuk seperti buku harian Voldemort.
Dark Creatures, kalian sudah tahu beberapa.
Contohnya Dementor, Basilisk, Boggart, Acromantula, Grindylow, dll.
Terakhir adalah Praktek Sihir Hitam.
