5 Fakta tumbuhan Foxglove :
1. Foxglove memiliki nama ilmiah digitalis yang berarti jari-kehidupan, merujuk pada ukuran bunga sebesar jari tangan manusia.
Bunga liar berwarna mencolok ini aslinya berasal dari hutan di Eropa Utara.
2. Foxglove tumbuh setinggi 0,6 hingga 1,5 meter dan menghasilkan bunga memanjang dalam satu tangkai, serta memiliki warna yang beragam mulai dari biru, ungu, pink, putih dan kuning.
3. Seluruh bagian tubuh foxglove mengandung racun, mulai dari daun hingga akar yang dapat menyebabkan kematian.
4. Foxglove di sebut beracun karena semua bagian dari tanaman foxgloves mengandung alkaloid yang berbahaya. Sehingga tanaman ini tidak dapat dikonsumsi.
5. Di dunia medis foxglove adalah salah satu bahan dasar obat yang digunakan untuk mengobati kondisi jantung yang tidak normal, epilepsi dan gangguan lainnya.
