If you wish to change your password and not have it exposed via e-mail
transmission, you can change your password once logged in using the
Secure Option from the Change Password menu. Be sure to make a
personal note of your password as it will not be sent to your e-mail.
Quick note about building your budget
=====================================
When you first access your online budget, you will find all your
budget lines set to zero. Take a few moments to gather all your
relevant financial information and enter as appropriate in the Master
Budget grey column on the left and click the Save button at the
bottom. YOU ONLY DO THIS ONCE and from that point on you can re-visit
your budget and just tweak the numbers on this column with any changes
to reflect your current finances. You may also modify any budget
category to suit your special need.
The second green column to the right of your master budget is where
you can track your monthly actual figures (expenses and income) to see
how you are doing against your budgeted amounts in the current month.
This is the column where most of your ongoing activity takes place.
For best practice always work on one column at a time, your budget
column on the left or current tracking column on the right, and be
sure to click the Save button at the bottom for each column before
moving to the other. Although if you forget to save and swich
columns, OOTD will automatically save the column that you worked on
before moving to the other.
If your budget period is a month (most common), remember to enter
monthly amounts, a common oversight is to enter annual figures like
your income or insurance for example. If you want to enter annual
amounts, simply add the letter - a - to the beginning of the figure
like a52000, this will trigger automatic calculation for you and the
monthly amount will be entered when saved.
The functional links to the right of your budget represent the many
options available that work with your budget to make it do more for
you and save your time while halping you master control over your
money, take your time to explore these by clicking the links and some
of the icons next to these for more information.
The OOTD billboard (available from the footer options) is an excellent
place to visit before you build your budget. Discussions there among
users and the developer are packed with useful information, scroll to
the bottom to find current announcements and users feedback on the
latest features. We recommend that you read the - Using OOTD - menu
option before starting, so that you are not missing on all the
available features to save you time, work and ultimately money.
