Hi Tena, I’m so glad you reached out. You’re right that MDA is launching an initiative to transform the experience our families have at MDA Care Centers by providing increased access to multidisciplinary teams and care coordination, as well as implementing ongoing quality improvements at all of our centers.

There have been so many changes in the health care field in just the past few years, and MDA is adapting to these changes to make sure our families receive best-in-class care. While investing in the transformation of our Care Center program means assistance with payment for clinic services won’t be available, we are prepared to assist families impacted by this change. This is one of the reasons that by the end of 2017 all MDA Care Centers will be required to provide MDA families with access to a social worker who can connect those with a need to resources within the institution or community that can offer financial assistance. MDA has also launched a new National Resource Center where information specialists are prepared to connect families with resources relating to insurance coverage, insurance appeals, and financial assistance programs.
