Untuk di AU kali ini, nama asli dari Batman ialah Makoto Yuuki, seorang pria milyuner berumur lebih dari 20 tahun dan dengan alasan tertentu, ia mendedikasikan dirinya untuk melindungi kota tempat tinggalnya.
Dedikasinya untuk melindungi kota ini adalah dengan memerangi kejahatan yang ada, meyakini bahwa kejahatan harus segera dibersihkan tanpa adanya pertumpahan darah. Hal ini tentu tidak berjalan dengan mulus. Musuh bebuyutannya yang sangat dikenal dengan nama Joker kerap kali berusaha membuatnya jatuh pada jurang kegelapan, berusaha membuat Batman membunuh dirinya dalam rangka memperlihatkan bahwa seorang hero tidaklah jauh berbeda dari manusia yang awamnya disebut sebagai monster akibat perlakuan mereka.
