kk, well first its partly the obvious "it makes people uncomfortable", but the second part is because we play with different rules. When you tell someone you are gay, you are automatically branded as "girly" and "feminine" and not really a guy. Everything becomes attached to your sexuality. You have to admit Dom and Zach have done some pretty gay shit but no one says beats an eye because they are straight. But if I do the same, well its because Im gay or being girly. Like for example. the scarf incident, Dom and phil wear scarves everyday and its fine, the second I put one on Im turing into a women and being "too" gay. Its just how things are, I have to try harder just to be considered a guy. Like your joke at the party, "being half a man" that is just how people see it, and talking about stuff like you ask me just fuels that fire.
