Tokom Prvog svetskog rata radila je kao medicinska sestra, a kasnije i kao apotekarka; radila je u Londonskoj apoteci gde je saznala dosta o otrovima, koji su cesto bili deo njenih kriminalistickih romana; toliko detaljno opisala trovanje u delu da je jedan lekar resio jedan medicinski slucaj
Imenovana je komandanta Reda britanske armije; najvece nacionalno priznanje - oreden Britanskog kraljevstva - dobija 1971. godine
Najpoznatija dela: “Ubistvo Rodžera Ajkrofta”, “Leš u sarkofagu”, “Ubistvo u Orijent ekspresu”, “Deset malih crnaca” itd...
