Students should attend 25 of the plays during the Winter One Act Festival and write up a full paragraph per play about their response to the plays they’ve seen. Please title each play with the correct title and date of the play you saw. (Note: Save your program so that you’ll be able to do this part).
By “response” I mean that you should write about how you experience the
plays you see: What stands out to you about the play and why?
How do you connect to the play? What idea is the playwright trying to
get across? What kind of style do you think they play is and why does the
playwright choose to tell the story in this way? You can also as
questions or comment about things such as clarity, focus, believability,
listening, etc.

Discuss production values such as lighting, sound and set or costume design and
how that supported the style of play or choices that were being made? Other things to discuss would be individual acting performances in terms of
skills you identify such as character development, staying in character, timing, strong choices and playing off other actors.
Identify and articulate a “theme” for several of the plays.
Drama ½ students: 5 plays
Drama ¾ students: 10 plays
I am also attaching an document to help you with articulating a theme.
You can write these up as a word-processed paper. I’ll also accept if it is legible in your journal. Please be ready to hand in complete on Monday, February 6 during the class period.
